I, fittingly, fell in love with this anthology. It’s rife with classical love poems and authors winding their way through the landscape of lovelessness and longing. My favourite section was the letters. Having not read biographical letters before, the intimacy and rawness of the writing captivated me, and I found it blinding in how truly poetic real love is. Particularly, I loved the Oscar Wilde queer sections, especially the surprising volta in the finale of the book. A Valentine’s read that made me mildly lonelier, but it’s ok, the writing was good.
