Addison Michael writes riveting, character-driven thrillers heavy in suspense with a focus on the intriguing motivations that make a person a murderer.

Addison grew up in a home where rules were not meant to be broken. As such, she was the "goodest" of the “goody two shoes” around. At 16 years-old, she survived a deadly head-on car collision. With a twinge of survivor's guilt, she developed a morbid fascination with who lives and who dies and why.

Being the oldest of six siblings forced Addison to lead by example. Her golden reputation solidified well into her thirties. But every good girl needs to have an outlet. Behind every smile and sweet comment, there is a dark side waiting to emerge. Addison Michael found the outlet for her dark side writing thrillers. She has an uncanny ability to step outside herself and create believable characters who navigate unbelievable circumstances involving murder, mystery, secrets, and suspense.

Y’all. Buckle up, because Addison Michael doesn’t ease you in—she kicks down the door, shoves you in a getaway car, and peels out. Why She Fled is a fast, gritty thrill ride that had my heart racing and my to-do list completely forgotten. (And I never ignore my to-do list.)

Mak Cunningham is hunting a corrupt senator at the center of a twisted web of crime and illegal operations. Meanwhile, Stephen Wilton’s search for his brother’s killer drags him into the same shadowy world—one that’s darker and more dangerous than he ever imagined. As he spirals, Mak may be the only one who can pull him back before he loses himself completely.

This fourth Mak and Wilton installment doesn’t just up the ante—it explodes it. We’ve got creepy basements, political corruption, emotional landmines, and tension so thick you could cut it with a tactical knife. Michael nails the pacing and punches you with a twist that’ll leave your jaw on the floor. (I may have yelped. Dramatically. In public.)

Bottom line? It’s smart, intense, and full of heart-pounding chaos. If you love strong women, big stakes, and zero fluff, Why She Fled needs to be in your hands yesterday.

Wow—this series just keeps getting better, and this latest installment is the best one yet!

I’m completely hooked. The tension, the twists, and the nonstop action had me glued to the pages. Secrets are unraveling left and right, and the suspense is absolutely gripping. Every chapter had me holding my breath!

Mak and Wilton are once again deep in the thick of it, chasing down leads and closing in on a dangerous ring involved in drug and sex trafficking. Their dynamic, dedication, and grit make them such compelling characters to follow.

This story is fast-paced, intense, and packed with heart-pounding moments. I couldn’t put it down!

I’m so grateful to be part of the ARC team—thank you, Addison Michael, for the eARC in exchange for my honest review.

Highly recommend this series to anyone who loves crime thrillers with strong characters and edge-of-your-seat suspense!

This entire series has been full of secrets, twists and turns! It’s full of suspense and you are gripping the edge of your seat every page you turn. Fast paced and you just need to know what is happening next.

Beth is the last of the teens left and he is on the run. She needs to stay away because they are after her and she doesn’t want to be killed next. She knows too much and they know it.

Mak and Wilton are after Langston and want to take down the trafficking ring. Langston wants it more for personal reasons and to take down the person who murdered his brother and Mak wants justice. The friendship between the two waivers a little and they start to doubt one another a little bit. Tension runs high when they want to get the bad guys and hey keep slipping through their fingers.

Who can you trust? Everyone seems to be a suspect. Fast paced, action packed, heart pounding intensity!
