I was the diamond of my father’s court, and his most prized possession–his ‘gift from the gods’. My shimmering skin and pale complexion set me apart from the other nobles of the court. I was cherished. I was loved.
Until I wasn’t. My father sold me north to settle his debts, and I was shipped off to a strange kingdom. To be a wife? A concubine? A trophy won in a war of politics and finances?
No, something much worse.
I was to be sacrificed to the monster hiding in the mountains.
This book can be read as a stand alone, or as a continuation of the Rise of the Draken series. The Lost ChildI am the daughter of the Pirate King, and a failed experiment. I’ve spent my entire life trying to win his favor and the respect of his men. But Pirate Lord ‘Cutthroat’ Craw doesn’t need me. He doesn’t even need his crew. Not after he acquired the weapon; something so terrifying that our enemies flee at the mere mention of it.
I didn’t get to see it until I was eighteen. And when I did, the course of my life shifted irrevocably. The weapon wasn’t a cannon or sword. It was a creature. A man.
And I would raze our entire island to set him free.
The Lost KingDestined to become the next King of the Drakens, Prince Fane wants what he can’t Sakala, his bitter rival since they were draklings. But this year, something has changed that could end their childhood debate once and for all—Sakala has decided to enter the courtship arena.
During the annual hunts where males and females battle to test their compatibility for mateship, Fane sees his chance to finally prove to his kingdom who the stronger and faster draken is.
However, he soon realizes that his actions have deep consequences, and his desire for Sakala may have more at stake than just his pride. Will Fane rise to become the king he was meant to be, or will his heart lead him down a dangerous path?

i didn’t like how this set didn’t follow wren. i completely finished it, but am still extremely confused on how their story ended and where the characters are. it’s not clear whether this was intended to be a prequel. i unfortunately lost interest in the plot and characters by the end of this book, as there was just *too* much to follow.
