Apparently I'm the first person on Goodreads to write a review of this book! This is a good book mixing text and really detailed maps to show interesting borders in the past and present. Some of the text is repetitive with anodyne quotes, but the maps and examples are fun. I love quirky borders and learned about some new ones here. Not every map works perfectly, but they did a nice job communicating a lot of information in a clean way. A good purchase for the map nerd in your life.

As a geography nerd/retired cartographer, I found this a fascinating atlas. I thought Xemartin Laborde did an excellent job with his modern and innovative cartographic maps. The maps were an interesting new ways to depict the complexities of borders both current and historical ones. Delphine Papin's text goes well with Laborde's maps.

Concise, to the pint. Thought provoking and illustrations smart and clear.
A decent companion to Tim Marshall’s writing
