I'm a pretty big Warhammer fan, primarily in the form of the books and the lore, but I am no stranger to the video games either. I've played a modest, but approximate, 1/3 of the games found within this collection, and it honestly gave me some very good recommendations for a few I have yet to check out; I'm looking at "Shootas, Blood and Teef" for some multiplayer side-scrolling fun, and the twin-stick shooter Kill Team in particular.

But yes, The Art Of Warhammer Video Games covers everything from the very earliest games released under the Warhammer name to the modern day AAA blockbusters such Space Marine II. From older PC-only strategy games and nostalgic PS2-era first-person shooters, to mobile card-battlers and everything in between.

This book has art from 40k, Warhammer Fantasy as well as the new addition of Age of Sigmar to the video game space, and the art on display here really does take centre stage. There is a beautiful assortment of concept art, in-game renders and enlarged and enhanced pixel art, all printed on high quality paper and superbly presented. Every game featured comes with a written piece about the place the game holds in the gaming industry, as well the fictional universe it belongs to as well.
I am not quite sure what dictated the order in which the games feature herein, because it isn't chronological or alphabetical, either of which would make sense, it's rather just a "whatever fits best type thing" whilst loosely keeping series together. It's a minor gripe for an otherwise superb book, but showing the history of Warhammer games and their art in the way they evolved over the years would have really added an extra element to this book that I myself would have appreciated.

That being said, this will really make a great gift for Warhammer fans. It's a beautiful coffee table book that'll look good in any fan's collection, and it also includes a handful of digital download codes for a few of the games that it features, making it truly incredible value for those that don't own all of the games already. I myself already had a few of them in my Steam Library, but I was able to give the codes for games I already owned to a friend I've recently gotten into Warhammer and PC gaming in general, so it was a win-win.

Thank you to DK for very kindly sending me a copy for review - it's a beauty and has really been put together with care.
