Aldred Chase is the author of the fantasy novels the Nobody’s Fool Quartet and the Sinister Sydney series. He also enjoys narrative verse and has written Tales Told in Verse, a series of rip-roaring adventures told in rollicking rhyme. Head to his YouTube channel to hear him read a selection of these.

Reading ‘The Hobbit’ at school was Aldred’s introduction to speculative fiction, and he has been a fan of fantasy, SF, and horror ever since. He is also a great fan of walking, and his best ideas come to him when he is strolling by the sea, thinking of nothing. Luckily for him, he lives in Sydney, where there are many beautiful beaches to encourage such productive day-dreaming.

Interesting supernatural mystery. This would be a good one for YA readers. Has a Goosebumps sort of feel to it.

All Things to Everyone is definitely an engaging read that I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend to adult readers and any child who is reading at this particular level. There’s enough tension to maybe make some younger children squirm, but my sons are 7 and 8, and I feel confident they’d love this book as much as my peers would. My “negative” remarks are strictly from a technical standpoint that shouldn’t impact someone reading strictly for entertainment purposes. The book is hands-down fantastic, and I’m not often inclined to say that about self-published works. Usually they fall short of my expectations, but not so here. I loved this book! and I’m so jealous I’m not this author’s editor so I can read everything he has in the works! Laugh!

Joyful moments

This short novel was very joyful to read it was interesting from the first page until the end the characters were fun and interesting and the ending was exciting. I look forward to reading more.

I have read many books over my lifetime and remember vividly learning to read at 6 years old and enjoying it instantly. It opened worlds for me. I have something to read with me always. My daughter gave me a Kinda when they first came out and have used one since. I am on my 4th one as they always improve. She told someone that I used to collect books but now have a Kindle. Made sense to me. I loved All Things to Everyone, and it is wonderful to find a story that e thrills me. Kudos.

Great story

I loved this supernatural story. Paul had to move to Sydney and live with his grandma. He is told that he has special powers, his grandma has them, too
When he gets a job she wants him to spy, because she thinks they are bad people. Then things REALLY get hairy!! Loved it.Lots of action.

Quick, easy read. I liked the character of Paul. This isn't a typical magician / wizard type of a book. Paul has powers, as does his Grandmother, but it's more like they are ridding the world of an evils. Parts of it were a little dark and creepy (the snakes, leeches, eyeballs, slime, etc), but this was good enough to make me want to read the second in the series.

A wonderful adventurous story

Original characters often with whimsical little traits and quirks that make you rethink some of the things you thought you knew.
Overall a really well told story and one that I really enjoyed reading.

Original Plot

Props for an original plot. I just wish it was a more substantial story; that had better character developments, and more detailed scene settings. The just not enough there to entice me to read any more of the series.

An interesting look at how magic can exist side by side with the real world. This book is based out of Australia so it brings a different attitude and social norm to the way things are done. Not so much so that it is unrecognizable, but still just a twist on it. It is part coming of age and part discovering that you're different in ways you didn't realize. It is also a good example of not everything is what it seems.

A fun read that promises well for future editions.

Readable

I liked the story, though it was a bit drawn out. Also I didn't realize it was for a young age group when I got it. I went ahead and read it anyway. I did overall enjoy it.

Strange

This was a very strange book. But once I started reading it, I had trouble putting it down. It made you want to see what happens next.
