This is the finale for the Heart series. You will need to read all the other books to fully understand the ending.

I can’t believe this is the last book. It’s one of the few serial romances that has captured and kept my attention throughout. Often I find myself getting bored with either predictability in the plotline or lack of creativity when a series should have concluded. I have never felt that with the Heart series.

We start off this with Annie and Brenden not speaking to each other. He has found out her identity and cast her aside for perpetuating a lie of not knowing one another. Christiano is on his way to once again save her. With this scene set, you think it’s going to be an epic battle of who will she choose but, like many times in the previous books, appearances can be deceiving. During the serial romance, I always just assumed everything would end with Brenden and Annie getting together but a couple of chapters into this book, I could completely see her going back to Italy. Think about it, she would be happy with her other half, Brenden, and then we could possibly get a Christiano book/series, but if she gets back together with Christiano, he loves her unconditionally and is a great caretaker. See how I spiral when there’s too much thinking. It’s at this point I realize no matter who she chooses I’d be satisfied…unless she gets neither. It’s one of the few books, I contemplated skipping to the end to see who Annie ends up with, but I controlled myself. Fortunately I was rewarded less than halfway through when, in true Lacey fashion, the choice is taken away and is decided by circumstances outside of Annie’s control.

With decisions made, Annie still isn’t guaranteed her happy ending. There’s some turbulence that still has to transpire before we get to that. Incongruously, it’s the malicious presence of Tommy that brings things together.

Even more enjoyable is the last several chapters jump time, months into the future, so there is a complete ending. I was surprised there was such a happily ever after from a series with so many twists and turns I could never figure out what was going to happen next. It, for most books would be completely normal, but for this serial romance was atypical…and lovely but still within the credibility of Annie.

I look forward to many more reads by Lacey in the future specifically for her ability to write layered, imperfect characters and fantastic plot twists.

This was a very good series. My problem with it was that Brendan wasn't particularly likable until this book. I LOVED Christiano and rooted for Annie and him to get back together. SL did let the reader know why Brendan was gun shy over relationships, but it didn't help me like him better.

When Christiano arrived to claim Annie, I was rooting for him and against "B-man" because there was a maturity, strength, and appealing quality to him, where Brendan continued to come off as immature and not worthy. By the conclusion of this book, I did like Brendan, but I'm still not sure if Annie should've ended up with him or her Italian stallion. I'm still leaning toward Italy, but that ship has sailed--quite literally!

Make sure you read all the other parts first. This one won't make sense if you don't.

This is the conclusion to Brendan & Annie's story and I loved it!!! You get answers and well you can read the rest to find out!! Perfect finish to this series!

But I loved it! Sabrina continues to prove that she is a fantastic writer! I love how all these stories intertwine in one way or another!
