Was promising

This story was promising but it turned on me. I was confused about some details and some didn't make sense to me. For instance, if Mr. North was the kingpin, why was he running from Guianna when he just had a war with his opponent? She's a college student. But it was other things that I picked up on, like how Allen's name switched to Alex. I was just confused and didn't understand the plot.

This book had potential then it took a hard turn. Aside from the grammatical errors, I just didn’t understand how North went from choking Giunna out to find Candi, to being afraid of Giunna and her pull and going on the run. This book was all over the place and the editing was awful. AND it’s marketed as a standalone and ended with a cliffhanger.

Started out ok, then fell flat. Too many grammatical errors, repeating paragraphs, random name changes- it's as if this book weren't edited at all. North was so nonchalant with Charlina only to be consumed with thoughts of her once she left him alone. He got with Candi as a distraction but fell in love and became obsessed with her so quick as if he weren't JUST obsessing over Charlina. North is supposed to be this unintimidated, big boss but is afraid of Giunna and her "reach" yet she approached him about teaming up because of his? Then, he and Candi go on the run? From Giunna? Anywho, they end up at his mom's house and they're so afraid to tell her this big, bad secret- which was what? The gravity of the situation was blown way out of proportion during their time there. Also, what were the indiscretions between Alex/Allen (random name change) and Candi? They never had sex and had only made out way before North entered the picture... Apple is so concerned for her sister's safety because of what North did to Charlina for the sake of their relationship but she had a whole rapist living with them and thought that was cool. To top it all off, this is described as a standalone but ends in a cliffhanger. I can't 😑

MS Lavish how you end a book like that got me going back to see if I missed something cause how I'm I'm my feelings Apple need to mind her business she didn't talk when she need to so she need to just shut up North is another unhinged man plain and simple Candi my girl but she should have slapped her sister her friend and her man IJS but this was good keep writing!

Good read!

This is a good read. From the start, you can tell the girl is young. It's sad how looking for help lands her with issues she has no idea would occur. I'm enjoying reading this book. Looking forward to what will happen next. It's just strange how some people show they have balls then in another breath, they are weak as hell.

I had such a hard time with this book! The story line was good. the characters was ok. The plot YES!!! My biggest problem was North. He was not the boss I needed him to be! I will not spoil this book for anyone because it is a good quick read.

How do you put in the title a standalone with an ending like that? Did Charlie’s live? Did she make them pay? Do North and Candi ever get married? Man, you know you wrong right?
