She’s a 21st-century scientist. He’s a medieval lord with a heart of iron. Their love was never meant to be… but history has other plans.
Beth Anderson would rather dissect chemical reactions than endure another awkward date. But when a lab explosion hurls her to 15th century England, she’s got bigger problems than her nonexistent love life... like surviving in a world where her science looks like sorcery, and one wrong step could have her facing charges of treason.
Lord Baldwin Devereux doesn’t trust the strange, sharp-tongued woman he finds in the woods. But her brilliant mind and infuriating defiance intrigue him as much as they unsettle him. And when Beth’s “miracles”, sterilizing wounds, exploding fountains, predicting the future, draw the queen's notice, Baldwin will risk everything to keep her safe.
As danger closes in, she has to decide... return to the future she knows… or stay with the man who’d burn the world down to keep her.
“Would you like an adventure now, or should we have our tea first?” -Alice in Wonderland
Cynthia Luhrs spends her time out on the deck, looking out over the mountains, imagining what if. She writes women’s fiction, time travel romance, contemporary romance, family sagas, paranormal romance, and thrillers. Readers say her books (well not the thrillers, those are gritty) are light-hearted reads to escape reality. She lives in the mountains of North Carolina, has always been a reader, and is overly fond of sparkly flip flops and pretty pens. Though now that she lives in the mountains she’s going to have to find fabulous boots, mittens, and hats!
I enjoyed the story even though it drug along slowly in places. The fact that every single time they almost kissed someone interrupted them was ridiculous! Cedric’s plotting was over the top, but the Father was very pleasant. For a time travel novel, it wasn’t bad.
I have been waiting for book 19 and the wait was worth it. It was such a lovely and romantic story. I can’t wait for the next book in series. Tnank you for this beautiful series.
