I did not enjoy this book but I had to know for sure who committed the murder. Most of the people seemed to be a bunch of alcoholics. It shed a bad light on Australians and I didn't like it. I believe I liked The Dry more but don't remember a thing about it now.

His responsibility to serve as godfather brings Aaron Falk to Marralee, where the local wine and food festival draws locals and visitors each year. This year, however, the festival also marks the one year anniversary of the unsolved disappearance of a young mother of two, a baby and a teenager. There is also another unsolved loss in the community--the hit and run death of the beloved accountant who served many of the businesses in town.

Falk and many others puzzle over very subtle developments in the investigation. The writing is good, but the pace is slow. Nevertheless, I eagerly read to the end.
