She’s in search of her soulmate. He avoids love at all costs. These neighbors are a total mismatch … until serendipity steps in.
Nori Sinclair has two goals in find the husband of her dreams, and purchase the beloved tea shop in her hometown, Serendipity Springs.
So when Nori finds herself short on funds to land a business loan, she joins a dating app that pays her to be their featured single in a month-long ad campaign.
Per her contract, all men are off-limits, except those matched for her by Swipe Rite.
This seems simple enough... until she keeps seeing herself in every mirror holding hands with Cash Briggs.
AKA her aloof, unavailable neighbor.
After a career-ending injury, ex-baseball player Cash is on a mission to help others who’ve been shattered like he was, inside and out. With his sights firmly set on a job in Los Angeles, he doesn’t have time for family or friends, let alone a relationship where he’d only get burned. Again.
Continually having to rescue Nori—his flustered neighbor, who seems desperate to avoid him—was not part of his plan.
While Cash and Nori fight their growing attraction, magnetic elements in their magical building draw them together, until they're forced to choose between breaking all the rules or breaking both their hearts …
Julie Christianson writes sweet romantic comedies—but only when she’s not reading them. Born and raised in the suburbs of Los Angeles, she loves her hilarious family, her three crazy rescue dogs, and laughing at her own jokes.
Julie dreamed of being an author the first time she held a crayon, and after the library where she worked closed in 2020, she decided to try her hand at penning her own small-town romcoms.
She’s a former high school English teacher and lapsed marathon runner, the mother of two great kids, and the wife of one very funny man. Her goal is to write books that make you laugh out loud, fall in love, and live happily ever after.

Guys…I don’t know how to describe it other than this — Julie writes her heart into the story and you can see every little girl’s dream becoming a reality with a wholesome feeling that just feels like “home”.
Cash & Nori were the perfect match. Even though on paper it should’ve have worked. But the foundation of neighborly help, to friendship, to more was enough to make this girl kick her feet!
Watching them grow…to choose themselves, so they could choose each other. *chefs kiss*
The Swipe Rite promo angle was a fun touch! And Cash’s job was so interesting!
This story made just made me happy! It has it all - heart, healing, laughter, tears, romance, and family!
4.5/5 stars
*I received this book from the author** All opinions are my own*
I’m absolutely flying through this series and I’m LOVING every second of it! This book was so cute. Cash and Nori are seriously the most adorable duo, and the tension between them? Whew! Julie turned up the heat, even with the doors firmly closed. I loved getting to know their backstories and how their views on love were shaped.
The magical realism with Nori’s mirror visions was super spooky but also kinda cool at the same time, and it totally added something extra to the story. Also… jealous guy alert! If that’s your thing (hi, same), you’re gonna love this one. I didn’t expect that trope, but I’m here for it.
There’s just the right amount of drama, heartache, and swoony moments to keep you hooked. This book was a total winner for me, and honestly, one of my favorites in the series so far.

Thanks to Julie Christianson and Booked With the Emilys for the gifted copy of this book.
I absolutely loved the magic aspect in this story! Nori manages Serendipi-Tea and is fairly content with her life. The only exception is that she long to fall in love. Cash, her neighbor, is the exact opposite. His entire life revolves around his work with a smidgen of time reserved for his family. After two months of living on the same floor, they suddenly seem to be seeing more of each other. Additionally, Nori starts seeing Cash holding her hand or coming up behind her when she looks in the mirrors at The Serendipity. This is only abnormal because CASH ISN'T ACTUALLY THERE. Whaaat?
I really enjoyed both of these characters. They've both had some really difficult challenges, and it was rewarding to see them overcome the obstacles that were trying to keep them apart.
We get some glimpses of Phoebe in this book, which just upped my excitement for the next book in this series!
Favorite Quotes: -"I like to watch my carbs," he says. Me too, I think. I like to watch them enter my mouth, and I love every single one of them.
-"I'm sure things will go back to normal. Soon." "They won't." Hayden shakes her head, like I haven't just given her a perfectly rational explanation for my off-the-wall visions. "Because it's the building." She beams at me. "The Serendipity *wants* you and Cash to be together."
This book just didn’t hit for me. The magic had a slightly creepy feel, and the whole dating lineup concept felt a bit odd. The main characters didn’t interact much, so when feelings were confessed, it seemed random. Even their internal thoughts didn’t offer enough depth for me to understand how those feelings developed.
I simply didn’t feel the chemistry between the characters. Any outward displays of affection felt forced, as did the confessions.
Perhaps the deepest of the series, this whimsical romance features Nori, a tea barista and Cash, a former baseball player and medical sales professional. Their magic in the serendipity is a mirror that shows them connected when they aren’t. Or maybe Nori is just having hallucinations because of stress.
Nope! It’s magic in this building, baby! The couple took way too long to get together, but their work life balance and financial issues were realistic and raw. I absolutely loved it!
🪞Release Date: April 9, 2025🪞 . . . Okay y’all…this book was absolutely FANTASTIC!! It was one of those stories that hooks you in with the first chapter and keeps you solidly entertained with love and hilarity for the remainder of the story. I said it would take a pretty phenomenal book to top The Cupid Chronicles and well, here you have it, folks! Off the Wall is officially my new favorite Only Magic in the Building book, for now that is 😁
From the moment the first chapter began with Eleanor (Nori) Sinclair’s very bad date, I knew we were gonna get along just fine 🤭 Her sense of humor, and just her effervescent personality in general, made for such a fun time in this story! After discovering that her workplace, Serendipi-Tea, was going on the market, Nori quickly decided that she wanted to buy it. But a problem arose when she was only approved for part of the loan she needed, meaning Nori would have to come up with the remainder herself. And that’s where Swipe Rite entered the picture, a dating app that would pay her to be featured in their month-long ad campaign, with one of the contingencies being that she’s not allowed to date anyone other than the men they choose for her for the duration of the month. That doesn’t seem like a big deal until Cash Briggs starts worming his way into her heart and mind, courtesy of The Serendipity showing Nori holding hands with him in her mirror.
Oh my goodness, y’all…Cash was such a sweetheart 😍 He’s one of those naturally super considerate guys, who takes care of those in need. And the best part is that he has his sights set on Nori 🤭 The poor man was such a goner for her and I loved it! The way his protective nature came out around her would make any girl swoon 🫠 Nori, being Nori, was so adorably awkward around him at first, which of course made the story that much better! These two were ✨perfection✨
“𝚈𝚘𝚞’𝚛𝚎 𝚖𝚢 𝚠𝚑𝚘𝚕𝚎 𝚑𝚊𝚗𝚍, 𝙽𝚘𝚛𝚒.”
I love seeing characters from previous Only Magic in the Building books pop up in the stories! I like the fact that Serendipity Springs is big enough that the characters don’t have to overlap, but they still do at times.
Read it for: 🪞Off-Limits rules 🪞Dating contract 🪞He rescues her 🪞Protective MMC 🪞Matchmaking building . . . Thank you @bookedwiththeemilys and @juliechristiansonauthor for the gifted copy of this arc!
I really enjoyed this sweet story! The romantic attraction between Cash and Nori was spot on and that meant the tension was right there, too, because even though these two were connecting and growing closer, it didn’t look like a future was possible for them.
I liked the way Nori and Cash really talked to each other and connected with each other, getting to know the hopes and dreams of the other. Yet, what if certain hopes and dreams changed over time?
There were plenty of humorous moments as Nori went on multiple dates through the dating app that was spotlighting her. And Nori going on those dates began to really drive Cash crazy! I liked the way he tried to be there for her and look out for her to make sure she was safe after she came home from her dates, too.
The author did a great job of bringing these characters together in the end and the extra epilogue was super sweet, too.
(4.5 stars)
I received a complimentary copy of this book but also purchased my own copy. All opinions are my own.
“I can’t date you,” I blurt out. “Well, that’s good.” His mouth goes crooked. “Because I don’t remember asking.”
From the very first line, I was completely hooked and Julie Christiansen didn’t let go until the very last page. Her writing style, full of laughs, wit, chemistry, and connection had me eagerly flipping through the pages as fast as I could. While I couldn’t devour it quickly enough, I also didn’t want it to end.
Nori has an interesting backstory and the cute, mysterious man on her floor of the whimsical and slightly magical apartment building seems to show up everywhere–including in mirrors, and oh, boy–what a scene that was. 😍🥵 Her dreams are to buy the local tea shop and to find love–enter a crazy dating app campaign and Cheshire Cash, aka Dr McMuffin or Dr McBoxer Briefs, otherwise known as Cash Briggs.
Cash and Nori are some of my new favorite characters and I loved watching their story unfold. Choosing their own futures, overcoming obstacles, being vulnerable, and discovering what really matters are some of the heartwarming features of this book, but it’s the closeness, SWOON, and heartfelt smiles that completely solidified this book as a favorite of my heart.
Content: mild romance; past off-page back injury and parents deaths
*I received a complimentary copy. All thoughts and opinions expressed are my own and were voluntarily given*
Nori and Cash instantly captured me. Their characters, backgrounds, and growth were just *chefs kiss* adorable. 🫶🏻
The romance part was a smidgeon more than my personal preference, so I did skim a few of the makeouts, lol.
But if you’re looking for a sweet story with heart, Julie nailed it!
Content: 1x use of h*ll; passionate makeouts; ogling; incident played for laughs but with so much second hand embarrassment involving a woman’s throng getting mixed up in a man’s laundry
Overall a cute read and I really liked Nori. Her finding herself and overcoming failure and your life not going to plan was very relatable. This is totally a personal thing, but medical themes are not my favorite.

-I give 5 stars!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
“The magic has always been in you. And you're already loved."
~She’s in search of her soulmate. He avoids love at all costs. These neighbors are a total mismatch ... until serendipity steps in…
“It’s okay to not be okay.”
-Off the Wall, book #6 in the wonderful Only Magic in the Building Series. This delightful charming story is about two neighbors, Cash and Nori who will fight their growing attraction, and magnetic elements in their magical building draw them together, until they’re forced to choose between breaking all the rules or breaking both their hearts. It’s a dear story filled with such endearing and relatable characters! It has a wonderful paced romance that had me smiling, laughing, and my heart sighing with happiness throughout. I thoroughly enjoyed watching these dear characters go from being awkward neighbors to awkward rescues to protective friends to something much more! I loved watching these characters realize what being content is about, that they are not alone. Seeing them choose their own happiness, and realizing the stakes for what is most important after all is worth striving for because, why not! This is a heartwarming story infused with lovely humor, sparks of sizzling chemistry, connection, and the right amount of depth! You can’t but help cheer for the character’s happiness and growth ahead! This delightful story is worth the great read!🙌🏻📚🪞✨
“You’re my whole hand. My whole heart. My whole future.”
-Content: kisses only, mild innuendo, two mild swears, magic is whimsical, there is no spells or shifting or dark magic of any kind, death and loss of parents, sports injury (recounted).
Thenks to @bookedwiththeemilys and @juliechristiansonauthor for the #gifted copy of this book.
This is the sixth book released in the Only Magic in the Building series and can be read as a standalone. It is Nori and Cash's story and I really enjoyed it. It had humor and charm, and I really liked their backstories. I will be looking for more by this author.
I have been really excited about the Only Magic in the Building series, and this was my first stop in the Serendipity building. This was a great, easy read with two sweet characters. I love laugh out loud moments in books and this one started off with one of the best. There is humor interwoven throughout but there is also depth to the life changes both characters are going through. Nori, the main female character, felt a little scattered at times, but she was still loveable. I think we all go through those moments in life when everything looks like chaos, that’s kind of Nori’s life in the book. Cash, the main male character, was so level-headed and focused until Nori comes into his life and makes him think about things a little differently. There are lots of great side characters in the book, some related to the rest of the series. I definitely recommend this story for anyone wanting a sweet, closed-door romance, with good character growth and a little whimsy. Thank you to Booked with the Emilys for the advanced copy of the book.
Nori and Cash just have the perfect tension and the sweetest build! A bad first impression, reluctant to fall (him), a dating app ad campaign (her), mishaps, a whole hand of friendship (iykyk), and magical meddling mirrors make this such a treat! I loved the supporting cast and just how sweetly and sincerely their relationship developed.
The Brief: Nori wants to buy a tea shop and find true love. But the dating app is filled with frogs and her neighbor keeps popping up in her mirror. Wait! He’s what?
The Debrief: Nori is fun and a bit quirky so I totally liked her. I was routing for her and felt every bad date like I was there- because I’ve had some myself. Cash was so thoughtful as he tried to figure out how to make his future a reality. So much swoony moments and I can’t even with that ending. Absolutely perfection!
The Rhyme: Nori finds a way to get her tea shop by exclusively dating ten guys from the app. When she starts to look at Cash differently, will they get a chance at a love with a normal chap?
So much fun at the Serendipity! A bit of whimsy magic, very light. My thoughts. Kissing only. One or two very mild swears.
More amazing and whimsical moments from another book in the Only Magic in the Building multi-author RomCom series.
I’m realizing one of my absolute favorite ways for a RomCom to start off is with a hilarious date gone wrong scenario. I know that sounds terrible, but they are SO funny, and Julie really launches into this one in a way that will have you cackling and cringing like crazy.
Nori Sinclair is in her late twenties and wants to find her soulmate before the age of 30. She’s focused, determined, and continues to put herself out there – which includes participating in a paid collaboration with the Swipe Rite dating app. This of course results in some funny and chaotic first dates. She desperately needs the money they’re offering to afford her dream of buying and owning her favorite tea shop in town. She’s depended far too long on her brother who practically raised her and is hoping to pave a way to her own personal success and happily ever after.
Cash Briggs is Nori’s neighbor in the acclaimed Serendipity apartments – notorious for its magical matchmaking ways. Cash is overworked and devoted so much to his job that he’s written off the idea of romance, but as one would expect in this series…The Serendipity might just have other plans.
I loved Nori and Cash’s connection. They both have deep life stories to tell, and were so easy to root for. Can love really be in the cards for them? Cash isn’t only resistant to the idea of a relationship, but he also starts talking about relocating to Los Angeles for a job. Things are complicated to say the least.
I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

Thank you to @juliechristiansonauthor and @bookedwiththeemilys for the #gifted e-book.
This closed-door, multi-author series called Only Magic In The Building is set in Serendipity Springs, where a legendary fountain brings good fortune. A whimsical romance with light magic, it follows a matchmaking building—no spells or shifters, just charm.
Off the Wall is a sweet, fun, and feel-good romance that had me smiling from start to finish. Julie Christianson brings together two complete opposites—Cash, a grumpy, emotionally guarded ex-baseball player, and Nori, a sunshiney, hopeless romantic searching for her soulmate. It’s the perfect recipe for a swoony, slow-burn romance with just the right amount of tension and charm.
Their “off-limits” dynamic and a hilarious dating contract make for a clever twist on the typical rom-com setup. Cash tries his hardest to resist falling, but Nori’s big heart and unshakable optimism are impossible to ignore. The matchmaking apartment building, meddling neighbors, and serendipitous moments add a cozy, feel-good vibe to the whole story.
There’s also a protective MMC moment (yes, he rescues her!), and plenty of banter that made the chemistry leap off the page. If you love reluctant heroes, hopeless romantics, and neighbor-to-lovers tropes, this book is totally your jam.
✨Authors in the series: Emma St. Clair, Courtney Walsh, Jenny Proctor, Savannah Scott, Julie Christianson, Carina Taylor, Melanie Jacobson, Katie Bailey
Off the Wall is the sixth book in the Only Magic in the Building series. This is an interconnected multi-author series, and all books can be enjoyed as standalone or in any order.
I truly cannot express my love for this entire series enough. I love Julie's books in general but adding that extra bit of whimsy in there just takes it to the next level. Seeing all the unique ways that this building works its magic to help its residents find their true love has just been the best. In this one, we meet Cash and Nori. They are neighbors living on the same floor, but she didn't have the best first impression of him based on their first not-quite meeting... making him the last person she wanted to run into on an already awful date. But when they keep finding themselves thrown together and begin to actually get to know each other, they both realize there is a lot more to the other. I loved how Cash wanted to support Nori... but also respected her need to take care of herself. He truly was the sweetest. With magical reflections, a dating app contract that won't let her date outside the app, uncertain futures for both, and oh-so-much chemistry, there was so much to keep me loving this story from start to finish. There was one particular mirror moment that... sigh... it was so good... you'll have to read it for yourself to see! Simply put, I absolutely adored this one!
Off the Wall is a closed-door romance with kisses only. It does have magical elements in the story, but they are lighter and more whimsical, no spells or darkness of any kind.
**ARC received for consideration. All opinions are my own.
Nori is a manger of a tea shop! Everything seems to be going wrong. The owner of the tea shop wants to sell it and Nori wants to buy it! She got a phone call from “Swipe Right” a dating app. If he agrees to go on a total of ten dates, she will get $10,000. That would be a lot of money for her to buy the tea shop!
Cash is a medical device salesman for Powell MedTech. He sells instruments and helps with equipment support in the OR! He was a third baseman on the baseball team before he got injured. Then his fiancée left him. Four years later he is still single.
Nori starts to see Cash in mirrors! She doesn’t know if that’s a good thing or a bad thing. Who did Nori decide on Swipe Right? You will have to read the book to find out!
*Thank you Julie and Bookedwiththeemilys for this digital ARC!* This book was super cute and perfect if you want a lighthearted romcom! I read a few of the previous books, and I love the concept of a magical apartment building getting couples together. Where do I sign up? I loved Julie’s take on it and how she brought two characters with different backgrounds together. The concept of a dating app contract was absolutely delightful and so much fun. It added a lot of tension between Nori and Cash. The yearning in Cash’s POV was everything. I loved Nori’s backstory and her struggle to find her place in the world. She was delightfully adorable, and I loved her optimism about everything. That poor girl went on so many bad dates. I truly don’t know how she did it. Cash was everything. I loved his baseball background and his reasoning for being in the medical field. He had a tough exterior that was shattered by Nor, and I loved seeing him open up about his past. I wish it was explored a little more because there was so much depth to him. He had such a wholesome and caring heart towards those he loved. Seeing his development was great and led to a very satisfying ending. I loved seeing the moments between Nori and Cash. Some were so hilarious, and others were so sweet because of how much they cared for each other. I can’t wait to see how the series progresses! There were a few passionate kisses.
This was a fun, low-stakes, and cute closed-door rom-com. This book is for you if you are looking for a light and easy read, love the small town feel, and enjoy a splash of magical realism!
Off The Wall is an interconnected stand-alone romance in the Only Magic in the Building - a truly impressive collaboration between SO many indie authors. All of the books have magical realism and are closed-door.
So flippin cute!!! This is one of my favorites of the series so far! I absolutely loved the dynamic between Cash and Nori!!🥰🥰🥰
I really liked the character development the main characters had to go through, and their struggles were relatable to the reader! I also loved the “magical mirror” element!!
From the first chapter, I instantly fell in love with this book. It’s full of the warmth, heart, romance, and humor that Julie does so well.
Nori Sinclair has two goals: marry her dream husband and buy the local tea shop. When funds for a business loan fall short, she joins a dating app to earn money as their featured single. Per her contract, only men matched by Swipe Rite are allowed. Yet, she keeps seeing herself with Cash Briggs in every mirror.
Cash, a former baseball player, aims to rebuild his life in Los Angeles after an injury. Though he’s not interested in a romantic relationship, he finds himself repeatedly helping his neighbor, Nori. And the more he’s around her, and their friendship blossoms into something deeper, he may need to rethink what’s really important to him.
Cash and Nori were such lovable characters! Both of them had experienced heartaches and difficulties, and I loved how they were moving forward with their lives, even when facing some challenges, including well-meaning family members.
The romance between them was fabulous! The longing and tenderness were tangible and perfectly captured.
The magical realism and dating app aspect were lots of fun. Her first date with ‘Warren Snuze’ had me cringing and laughing out loud.
From start to finish, this story was sweet, funny, whimsical, and enchanting. It’s another wonderful addition to the marvelous Only Magic in the Building Series, and one of my favorite books by Julie.
🤍 Thank you so much @juliechristiansonauthor for the copy of Off the Wall!
Julie Christianson has done it again! Nori is in search of love, and Cash is avoiding it at all costs. But leave it to fate, and a little magic, to throw these two together…
This book was full of dating mishaps, neighbors to lovers, whimsy, emotions, and swoony kisses. All things I adore!
I also loved the dating app aspect (but not the way it’s usually done!) and everything about this book just worked for me.
4⭐️ ARC Review: This series has been fun. It has even introduced me to a new author! And honestly, this one has been my favorite so far. This one goes into more depth and just felt different. In a good way.
It’s funny at times, but it has those serious moments that connect you to the characters more. They seem real when they go through real life struggles. And Cash and Nori go through struggles. I enjoyed their deeper connection. I also felt like this one was more whimsical than the rest and I enjoyed that.
Honestly this series is not what I was expecting. It’s been a little disappointing, but this one redeemed them a bit.
*Thank you to Booked with the Emilys and Julie Christianson for the complimentary copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Read if you enjoy: - Dual POV - Neighbors - Matchmaking building - Magical realism - Forbidden romance - Protective hero - Closed-door romance
Content 💋: - Kisses only - Mild infrequent language (one use of d**n and h**l)
This one might be my least favorite of the series so far. It didn’t really pick up until 3/4th of the way. The magical parts seemed way less.
I am confused I liked Phoenix and thought he was dating Lily (previous books)??
The personalities in this one weren’t as obvious. He just was a workaholic and she was kinda dumbly determined to do everything on her own and go into debt along the way. Super strange men and dates.
Clean ish. Only a couple kisses and two shirtless moments. One curse word.
Loved the storyline and the chemistry. My issues? Context. You make a Mac with a spinal injury who can’t find a bicycle but he can carry his neighbor up stairs and sleep on a couch and other strenuous things. Makes zero common sense and wasn’t even necessary for the plot.
