The upgraded art and meaty mystery, cannot hide the fact that its most interesting story isn't the one being told. <\b>
The sophomore outing has a lot going for it: A more cohesive world with fun characters, and gruesome scenes mixed in with some absurd fun. And the art is more captivating this time around!
Yet, all these improvements cannot hide that this book is heavy on setup with the pay-off potentially coming in another book. And it is weird reading something, and thinking, huh, I bet the next book is more interesting! <\i>
The color palette is a miss, the red is used sparsely compared, while the blue in the debut book was a part of the experience. The medium is not used to its full potential, as evident by having an untranslated German song instead of the classic translation with an *.
All in all, this is too bad, the overall mystery of the series seems bloody amazing and I cannot wait to see how it ends!
