About the author

Eva García Sáenz de Urturi was born in Vitoria, Spain.
She published in 2012 her first novel, The Immortal Collection, followed in 2014 by its second installment, The Sons of Adam, along with the historical novel Passage to Tahití.
In 2016 she released The Silence of the White City, the first volume of the Kraken Saga, a bestselling thriller series set in her hometown of Vitoria. The saga continued with The Rituals of Water (2017), The Lords of Time (2018), The Black Book of Hours (2022) and The Angel of the City (2023). In 2026, the sixth installment of the Kraken Saga will be published.
Eva García Sáenz de Urturi won the 2020 Planeta Prize with Aquitania. She later republished The Immortal Collection 1. The Ancient Family (2024) and, in 2025, The Immortal Collection 2. The Sons of Adam and The Immortal Collection 3. The Father’s Way, the conclusion of the trilogy.
Her novels have more than four million readers worldwide.

J’ai retrouvé avec plaisir les enquêtes de l’inspecteur Lopez des Ayala et ce fut encore une fois une vraie balade dans le temps et dans l’histoire en plus de l’enquête elle-même. Les chapitres sont partagés entre la voix de l’inspecteur et les chapitres d’une chronique du 12ème siècle et j’ai particulièrement apprécié ces derniers. L’enquête en elle-même était très intrigante et bien ficelée même si j’ai trouvé que la vie personnelle des enquêteurs prenait beaucoup trop de place cette fois-ci dans l’histoire et c’était un peu frustrant pour moi.
