This is my story of how to lose a mob boss in ten days.
I have a I’ve been arranged to marry a monster.
Run away? Good idea. Tried that. Didn’t work. Because in my family, my father makes the rules. And he says this wedding is happening.
But he still has a soft spot for me, his last remaining daughter. So he offers me a deal. Take ten days. Get to know Sasha. See if you change your mind.
Yeah, right. Sasha Ozerov is a beast in Brioni. He’s ruthless, flawless, utterly unconcerned with mortals like me. All he wants is what our marriage would bring My family’s power and the city in the palm of his hand.
But maybe, if I can make him back out of the deal… I’ll keep my freedom. So I set out to do everything I can to drive him crazy.
I have ten days to make my husband hate me. What happens if I start to love him instead?
10 Days to Ruin is Book 1 of the Ozerov Bratva Duet. The story concludes in Book 2, 10 days to Surrender.
Nicole Fox writes smart, sexy mafia romance novels. She is a crazy cat lady in her late 30s with a coffee addiction, an overactive imagination, and a husband who somehow puts up with her impulsive need to keep buying new plants for their house.
OH MY GOD I ABSOLUTELY DEVOURED THIS!!!! I was not expecting to love this as much as I did! Ugh when a mafia romance book finally HITS it feels like all is right in my world. I actually couldn’t put this down and I didn’t even realize it’s part 1 of a duet so the ending left me absolutely DISTRAUGHT AND REELING! Wow this was so much fun. Bye I need book 2 IMMEDIATELY!
Russian mafia men are going to make me fold every single time. Sasha…. The filthy mouthed man that you are. Sat. Seated. Ready. Deceased. I adored him and Ariel’s relationship so much, they had me giggling the whole time! The banter… chefs kiss, the chemistry… I’m sweating. Ariel was also so funny for no reason.
This man literally bought out an entire newspaper franchise because they were saying bad things about her…. Bye. They say romance is dead.
This literally gave how to lose a guy in 10 days but make it mafia.
Absolutely read this if you like: - mafia romance (duh) - Morally grey Russian mafia men…. Who are in fact pathetically down bad. - Arranged marriage - Banter - TENSIONNNNNNNN - A silly fun giggle and kick your feet time - Touch her and you ☠️
LOL, Ariel, talk about being in the wrong place at the wrong time. She overhears something she shouldn't have and ends up getting railed in the bathroom by the mystery man, only to find out later that she is arranged to marry him.
The book has a lot of inconsistencies such as the Ariel’s hair is referred to as auburn but also chestnut, she says Drakan is in his 40’s a couple years older than Sasha but then Sasha was born in 86, and Ariel is 33 but refers to 15 years ago when she was 15 yrs old many times. A lot of the story lines didn’t make sense either. I have a hard time following books that are inconsistent because I keep going back and forth to see if I read incorrectly before and wondering how the author didn’t catch the error. Besides that the book was funny and the plot was interesting.
DNF’d at 70% because I could not handle anymore. Where to start? First the MMC is 6’ then 6’2” then 6’5”. The spin on “How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days” had soooo much potential but it crashed and burned. Read on for mild spoilers. The number of days do not add up correctly. The time of year also gets messed with. The MMC is told that is 10 days until the New Year, so he has those 10 days to win the FMC over. So presumably, Christmas should take place in about 3 days, right? WRONG. Everyone keeps going about their business with no mention of the holidays. FMC asks the MMC when he killed his first man, and he tells her that he was 22 and on guard duty. Later, it’s said that he was 17 when he killed his father. So which is it?! Then they go for a HIKE in New York in DECEMBER where she is apparently wearing a sports bra (that later is referred to as a bralette and then a sequined crop top, more inconsistencies), leggings, & stilettos. He wears a Henley and jeans. IN DECEMBER. If that’s not enough, there is then a rainstorm that soaks them and puts out their fire, and their decision is to strip to avoid hypothermia and then they apparently survive the entire night without death or severe frostbite. IN NEW YORK. IN DECEMBER. Then they manage to leave the mountain they were trapped on overnight by dawn’s light AND get back to the city, where she somehow magically has time to shower and get to work on time. Girl, the only place you should be going after a winter night spent wet and mostly naked on a mountain is the hospital… after being for hours in NYC rush hour traffic. Then, two days later, he’s asking her why she’s not wearing a coat in December weather! Well, you just survived a night, wet, on a mountain, so I guess she’ll be fine! Next, all of a sudden, even though it is heavily insinuated that the FMC has not seen her mother since she left her as a child, we find out that they have been in contact and seeing each other the ENTIRE TIME. What even? Oh, and in this interaction we get the first acknowledgment of the holidays- it’s cold and overcast, so FMC thinks, “maybe we’ll have a white Christmas after all.” Girl, Christmas should have happened like 3 days ago according to the initial timeline! Oh, then the FMC & MMC proceed to have loud dirty sex in a CURTAINED changing room with people around, apparently leaving their bodily fluids on every surface, enough for her elbows to “slip in their combined mess.” I’m all for a little danger but GROSS. And that, dearest gentle reader, is where I quit. Your choice on whether or not to read this inconsistent dumpster fire for yourself.
Ariel is a horrible person and I don’t like her character at all. She’s like a bag of rocks. Sasha is a good character with a hugely traumatic history. Ariel could care less. Sasha ends up saving her sister but because he doesn’t tell her right away, she gets mad at him and runs away. This woman is a coward. All she really ever does is run away.
KU read and hopefully this is the last Fox duet I will ever read. She writes weak women…
I knew before even starting this I’d not be able to put it down and I was correct ☺️
Our FMC Ariel has tried to distance herself from her past only to find she never did, it was all an illusion her father had set up. He has now decided she must marry a Bratva Pakhan, though he does give them 10 days (hence the title of the book 🤭) to work out their differences and join together in holy matrimony. Will their games end in love or blood shed? Are secrets and lies the basis for a happy marriage? Will Ariel wish to enter that world again?
Sasha head of the Bratva, he’s a ruthless monster, gets what he wants be it with brains or braun. Does he fall in love? Is he capable of such emotion? Has his training turned him into what everyone sees? Will their empire flourish or fall?
Nicole’s writing style has a way of pulling you in, keeping you there and even when you have finished it doesn’t let go. I simply could not put this one down and as soon as I’m finished typing this I shall start the next book and thank the lord she released them close together 🖤
Love me a Russian Mafia man who is mentally unwell but will do ANYTHING for his woman. SASHA OZEROV❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥 Ariel…. Idk…. Just get on your knees and thank this man for all of eternity.
Nicole is back! This book has everything we expect from her writing - Romance, spice, and action. I loved how the MCs in this one were mature enough to understand what they wanted and do everything they could to get it.
Dnf at 76% It should've been the first sign that it took me 3 days to find my will to continue reading this. But nevertheless I persisted, although not for long. This book has so many inconsistencies that I tried to overlook because I'll give credit where credit is due. This might be the funniest mafia book that I've read so far. And that was the ONLY reason I tried to finish it. But the story wasn't going anywhere, the leads had no chemistry whatsoever. All they did was the devil's tango and get mad at each other and then kiss and make up. It didn't make sense.
I think it also tried to take inspiration from the classic movie "How to lose a guy in 10 days" but the execution was bad. The premise was so unique, the writing was good but the plot progress was bad. I'm so sad:(
I really enjoyed this book from the author! It had a fun mix of banter, games, and some clever manipulation between the characters, which kept me engaged. At the same time, there were some pretty serious things happening with the Sebians that added an intense contrast. Just when it seemed like everything might work out for the couple, a big secret came to light—I had a feeling it was coming, but wow, the ending felt so unfair to them! Now there’s an even bigger secret that might push her away from the man she loves. I’m left wondering how it will all wrap up! I can't wait for book 2 to see if they can make it as a couple!.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Plot: 4/5 • Smut: 3/5 ——-> Everyone loves a good mafia romance. This one is the Greeks & the Russians with a little bit of Serbians. Ariel stayed hidden from her father for 15 years, only to come back and be in an arraigned marriage. The kicker? The guy she’s to be wed was the guy she just slept with in the bathroom.
The smut is good. Not as descriptive as I usually like, but still good.
This ends on my least favorite trope. Surprise pregnancy. The bane of my existence. This was a great read, but idk if i’ll continue after that.
I liked how the book started. It was a great meet cute. I felt that the writing was lazy. Hated the FMC and there were too many plot holes in the story and I’m not sure time lines add up. Also she ran away from her father the mob boss at 15. Where did she go. Who did she live with. How did she pay for college. Her best friend since she was a little girl didn’t know about her families business. Never asked that question. She never lived with her mother I fact up until she met her mother in the book it made it seem like she was dead it disappeared. And her father with all of these connections didn’t drag her ass back home. Just so many things that make you 🤷♀️ But I persevered because I read the reviews and they promised me book two was fantastic but that just put in a fowl mood. See my review for 10 Days to surrender.

Hnnmmm It was good, like i kept on reading so that’s a sign After i think the 70% mark i did feel like we were dragging this story a bit. Their story had no reason to be a duology with around 500 pages each. There’s a lot going on once you move on from the main couple falling in love tho.
There was character progress for sure. Sasha went from a heartless boy who was taught that love is a weakness to someone who finally accepted that it doesn’t have to be a weakness but rather exhilarating and fulfilling.
In the beginning i did think that Ariel’s plan to shoo away Sasha was a bit childish like ain’t no way he’s running to the hills because of your killer personality 😂 but it was fun to read so no complaints. She did ended up being very attentive and affectionate to the broken boy.
There isn’t anything else going on in the book besides the main couple and them getting together so i found it lacking. There were only a few scenes here and there showcasing the mafia life but nothing major. Hope it changes in the second book.
The ending tho was a big mess! Too much going on with jasmine, Ariel running away, Sasha injured, the uncle being idk what and her dad dying. Oh and finding out she’s preggo
I’m so confused but also annoyed, If Sasha had helped Jasmine escape and if that was her chance at life then why tf is everyone hating him for that? Even Jasmine herself? I get that she had to sever ties with her family and that’s painful but she got another chance at life
I think this is the first Nicole Fox book I could not finish….i absolutely bored and could care less if Ariel died or anything about her she was so one dimensional like a plain rug on the floor. Sasha biggest pussy Bravta…felt like I was reading a boring cozy mystery romance book. Not one about mafia…also the weird ages…so if Sasha knew Jasmine 15 years ago, when Ariel was 17…that would make Sasha what age…..Ariel would be 32 but acts like a 17 year old….this story mimics The movie how to lose a guy in 10 Days…but is no where near as entertaining…poor copy cat…
The first book in the dangerously sexy Ozerov Bratva duet, in which Ariel Ward is forced into an arranged marriage with mobster Sasha Ozerov but soon finds that beneath his ruthless exterior lies a passion threatening to consume them both. I devoured this book. The nod to How to lose a guy in 10 day but mob style made for an enjoyable listen. The narrators did an excellent job with this… the Russian accent was done so well! I enjoyed every second, and I am immediately cuing up the second novel. Highly recommend!
This is book one in the Ozerov Bratva duet and it has so many ups and downs and twists and turns, its hard to know who is on Ariel's side. Sasha seems to have truly fallen in love with her but Ariel finds out a secret he has kept from her and cent seem to forgive him. Will Ariel come to her senses or will she run away?
I'm a huge Nicole Fox fan, but this one was a little on the slow side. I am still going to finish it. The characters had some great banter and there were plenty of laugh out loud moments. Overall, the story was good, just a bit slow.
I want to love this authors books so bad. This is the third one I’ve tried to read and this is the third one I have DNF’ed. The writing is fine. The characters are also fine. But they are just tooo freaking long. I can cope with romance books that are long some of the time if there is some meat to the story. Some drama. Something to keep me hooked. And this started out so good. But like with all of the other books I’ve tried by this author, I get to the half way point and lose interest. The pacing slows down and the story just stalls and I just get to the point where I don’t care anymore.
Ariel and Sasha share electric chemistry, and their intense battle of wills keeps the tension high and the story utterly addictive. I absolutely loved it!
This has to be the worst fmc Nicole Fox has ever written. And I just couldn't anymore. Here is a woman, in her thirties, who has been living out in the real world for at least 15 years, and you still feel like you're in the mind of a 16 year old with actions to match. To say she was juvenile is an understatement. She even speaks in text-talk... A thirty-something journalist, who writes for a newspaper, using text abbreviations in real life conversations.... She was horribly self-centered, didn't even register that the mmc might also have feelings, and basically threw tantrums when she didn't get her way. When the fmc said the mmc would never know his kids, even after him being there for her and expressing that he wanted to be with her and his children, after seeing the mmc hurt that he might never experience being a father, well that completely killed it for me. I don't care how it ends. I don't like women who deny men their kids just to punish them. And honestly, the man hadn't even deserved to be punished.
Soo many inconsistencies in this book. It takes place over the course of 10 or days. It’s supposed to be December in New York. Why does this girl go out on a hike in shorts and a sports bra and not once say she’s cold?? Then it snows like a week later. Also, what happened to Christmas? That would’ve overlapped with their 10 days but it wasn’t even mentioned. Not that everyone celebrates but it’s New York City. I feel like it would’ve impacted them in some way like tons of tourists packing the streets or train on her way to work. Nothing. Another thing, in the beginning they didn’t know each other at the Met but later on before they learn the other’s name they both refer to them by name. I could go on with the inconsistencies but overall I was entertained and will read the second book because at the end of the day they’re small enough to overlook since they don’t majorly impact the story.
The main character, Ariel, or whatever her name is, was the least likeable “heroine” that I have ever read about! Her attitude and the games she played made me loathe her! She’s an ugly witch (I really want to use the word that rhymes with witch)! We have to read 37 chapters for her to finally act like she likes and wants Sasha! I may have skimmed over a chapter or two, to get to better parts of the story, without feeling like I missed anything! Not sure if I will move on with the next installment since I am not really into these characters or the convoluted storyline.
