The Beastly Crown is a twist on the classic Beauty and the Beast I haven’t seen before. Ines Johnson has created a beautiful world on Lunaterra with an intricate world for a novella. The Beast Prince, Adom, was cursed from birth to live as a half-man/half-lion unable to fully shift. His parents defied the Gods an married for love and Adom has suffered the consequences. Belle, a fairy, is seamstress with dreams to be a famous dressmaker. She is traveling with the Fairy Queen and Princess. The Fairy Princess is to marry Adom. Belle finds herself having to impersonate the fairy princess because she pulled a runaway bride. Adom is shocked when Belle doesn’t run screaming from him when they first meet. Instead she reaches out to him and takes his fur to add to wedding dress. She is enamored by Adom and now all she cares about is him. When Belle learns of the curse, she realizes that she can’t marry Adom. She isn’t the one meant to break the curse. This was fast paced with spicy times, insta-love and a fight for an HEA. If you enjoy fairytale retellings and shifter spice this is the read for you. I look forward to reading more stories from the Lunaterra Chronicles.

Thank you to Ines Johnson and The Author Agency for the privilege to read an advanced copy of The Beastly Crown.

The Beastly Crown was a sweet Beauty and the Beast retelling set in a fantasy world with Fae, trolls, and shifters.

Adom is a prince who was cursed at birth and stuck between his lion and human form due to his parents' forbidden love. In order to break the curse, he must marry a Fae princess chosen by the Gods. Belle is the royal seamstress, and she created the wedding dress for the princess. The princess flees before her first meeting with Adom, so Belle is forced to pose as his future bride till they can get her back.

Adom was expecting fear and disgust from his bride, but Belle was not scared of him. She is drawn to him, and they have an immediate connection they can't deny. Belle wants to be with him, but how can she if their relationship may not break the curse.

I really enjoyed this, and I thought it told a well-rounded story, considering it was only a novella. I also appreciated that we had sexy times while he was in beast form, but I am crazy like that. I am interested in continuing on in the series with the princesses romance.

Why you need to #ONECLICK this book…
✔️Beauty and the Beast retelling
✔️Wounded/Cursed Hero
✔️Arranged Marriage
✔️Independent Heroine
✔️Hidden Identity
✔️Forced Proximity
✔️Runaway Bride
✔️Shifter

This was good for a quick novella read. But I prefer to really get to know characters more deeply in a dynamic such as this retelling. I didnt really feel why she fell for him. We seem to focus oddly too much on her seamstress skills. And how she looks at him in the way that his broad form is perfect for tailoring. And I'm not sure why he got all possessive after one meeting when he's met other women before. It's a bit of a monster romance as well, which is fine but I just felt things move too fast and it lacks the emotional connection.

I want more angst and slow burn. This was instalove. I was also left a bit confused by the world and its magic/beliefs. Lots of names of moon gods (?) thrown out and a war referenced. I wasnt sure if his mom was a lion and his dad a human till much further in. The mom is a lioness shifter. It just didn't dive deep into their mind state and thoughts, more surface level.

It is only 140 pages and things move fast but for those that like a fast paced fantasy-curse story, this may fit the bill.

📓 I want to be honest and tell you that I wasn’t expecting much from this book, boy was I surprised?
📓 This book grabbed me from the very first page it was super engaging
📓 It’s perfect as something you can just read in between some big series.
📓 A great retailing of beauty and the beast would love to be able to dive more into this world
📓 I loved the chemistry between Adom and Charlotte a.k.a. Belle. It had to be formed fast due to the short book however is done really well.

🍷"I am yours body and soul. From the moment I met you and until the day my soul no longer gives light, I am yours, Charlotte(Belle). I love you."
🍷We stayed like that, tangled in each other, the world, the suns and the moons beyond the room fading away.
🍷This fairy would be the death of me, and I'd go happily.

I thought it would be better executed. It started off well, then suddenly the story took a turn that made no sense.

You constantly feel like there's missing information, scenes, and history, and that nothing makes sense. I feel like the story was cut off in the wrong places and that there's a lack of context.

The spicy scenes weren't superfluous to me, but they seemed forced, lacking context, and thrown in to add something to the story, because the plot didn't make sense.

@Adasbookreview

She was supposed to deliver the dress—not wear the crown 👑

This one had me hooked from the first fake princess moment. Belle just wanted her gowns on display, not to be mistaken for the runaway fae princess bride-to-be. But when the Beast Prince himself shows up looking for his mate, she's forced into the role, and as a desperate dressmaker with big dreams with nothing to lose, she puts on the gown and plays the part. And ohhh the way that lie spirals 😮‍💨

Enter Prince Adom: half-beast, all growl, gruff as hell with this hidden softness that absolutely wrecked me. Cursed, feared, and haunted by duty, he’s resigned to a marriage without love—until Belle throws his whole world off balance.

Their connection is instant, their chemistry is palpable, and their banter is everything. But it's the emotional core that really pulled me in. Both Belle and Adom are used to being overlooked—Belle for her work, Adom for his curse—and watching them find that soft, sacred space in each other? Ugh. I melted. 🫠 And the TOUCH HER AND DIE MOMENTS?!? I WAS HERE FOR THEM!!

These two have only ever been valued for what they can do, not who they are. And just when they finally start to find something real with each other… Belle has to give him up—for his kingdom. 😭

That sacrifice? That moment? It hit. But watching how it all unfolds after? Worth every ache.

This was fake identity meets forced proximity with a fairytale twist—and I devoured it. Secrets, curses, royal duty, unexpected love… the pacing flew, the ending delivered, and I was rooting for these two the entire time. I hope we can get Charlotte's and Jorge's story!

A very sexy, clever take on Beauty and the Beast, this book features Belle, a fairy who’s the wedding gown seamstress for the princess who’s about to be married to a lion shifter prince who is was cursed at birth by being stuck in between shifted forms. As they’re about to reach their meeting place, the princess escapes and Belle is forced by the fae queen to take her place.

Prince Adom has spent his entire life paying for the choices his mother made, and in the aftermath of his beloved human father’s death when he was a young cub, he’s always known she resented him, barely ever making eye contact with him, ashamed of his monstrous form that’s neither man nor beast. When he meets the young fairy to whom he’s supposed to be wed, not only is she unafraid of him, but she touches him and treats him kindly and warmly.

Belle is instantly enamored with Adom, but when she learns of the curse and the gravity of the consequences if he doesn’t wed the real princess, she does what she thinks is right. Will they get their HEA?

I really enjoyed this, read it in a single morning, and I’m so glad I did. I highly recommend it.

This is a really fun and sweet retelling of Beauty and the Beast. Belle and Adom have a fast pace story with magic, spice and twist. Their story is very well written and easy to get hooked on with the detailed world building. I love the narration of the audio book especially with the gruff male voice included in the narration. It really brought the audio book to life.

Well, I was instantly drawn to this book by the gorgeous front cover - I loved the simplicity of the design, which doesn't give too much away, but promises something magical.

I've since discovered that this is part of a 13 book collection which are written by a group of various authors, all set within the same universe.

I've not read many series like this but am so intrigued by this concept.

So, this is the first book in The Lunaterra Chronicles and what a brilliant start!

This was a story based around Beauty And The Beast and I loved the similarities to the original tale - but what I loved more, were the little differences that were built into this retelling, that had me completely immersed from start to finish.

This wasn't a long read and it flew by even quicker because I was so obsessed.

There was everything a fairy tale should be - but there was a darkness to it and some great twists and turns which take us away from the original and captivate our dark little hearts!

This could have been my first (or at least one of very few) monster romances and I didn't hate it!

I've a few reservations with this trope, but having Adom as half man- half beast maybe helped ease me in.

This was spicy and it fitted perfectly.

I absolutely will be grabbing book 2 asap as I need to know how this continues on!

Loved the writing style and will be looking for more from this author in the future too!

I’ll admit—the "she bangs the beast" trope is what made me apply for this ARC. I watched Beauty and the Beast (French version) because the Beast was gorgeous, but… he turned into a man at the end. Sigh.

This book? A dream come true (for obvious reasons).

I really enjoyed the writing style and loved that the "beauty" didn’t necessarily have to be a princess. If you’re looking for a Beauty and the Beast romantasy novella, definitely check this out. He does turn into a man at the end, but trust me—it does not disappoint.

Absolutely loved this, and I’ll be looking forward to more of Ines’ works in the future!

Imagine dreaming of fabrics and fashions, only to find yourself tangled in a royal ruse. Belle, a seamstress with aspirations for silk and thread rather than ballrooms and thrones, faces a surprising twist of fate. When the fae princess ditches her own wedding, Belle must step into her shoes—literally—and face the formidable Beast Prince. Adom, a prince trapped between man and beast by a familial curse, seeks his bride for more than just love; he needs her to break the enchantment that binds him. Belle's deception might unravel Adom’s world, yet their chemistry threatens to make the charade all too real. But as secrets bubble beneath the surface, both must confront the tricky threads of destiny that could alter their paths forever, proving once again that love is the trickiest—and most rewarding—game of all.

The Beastly Crown injects new life into the classic Beauty and the Beast tale with its fast-paced storyline and vibrant characters. Despite being a brisk 202 pages, the book doesn't skimp on intrigue, providing a whirlwind of romance and enchantment that left me pining for more. Adom is not your typical brooding prince; his mix of raw power and vulnerability makes him captivating. The chemistry between Belle and Adom is electrifying, yet I found myself yearning for deeper emotional dives as some scenes felt a tad underexplored.

Nevertheless, this whirlwind romance is invigorated by a parade of tender and fiery moments that kept me eagerly flipping pages. The storyline's potential is undeniable, and though the book sometimes skimmed the emotional surface, the prospect of further exploring this engaging world holds promise. I found the narrative's execution admirable, despite a few missed opportunities for more profound emotional exploration.

The Vibes It Brings

💔 Epic Retelling: An exciting twist on a classic tale.
📜 Secret Agendas: Lies, pretense, and unforeseen connections.
👑 Royal Enchantment: Regal life with a fantastical spin.
💞 Sparks Flying: Fiery chemistry that leaps off the pages.
🌙 Cursed Fate: A spellbound romance amidst magical perils.

The Beastly Crown is a delightful escape into a world where romance, mystery, and fantasy seamlessly blend. The touch her and die trope, coupled with the grumpy sunshine dynamic between Belle and Adom, adds a tangible tension that enriches their encounter. Though compact, this novel holds a universe of possibilities, hinting at more elaborate explorations in subsequent installments. I'm particularly captivated by the potential depth in supporting characters and plot threads, which we only brush upon here.

If you're a fan of steamy, fast-paced retellings with hints of magic and mystery, The Beastly Crown deserves a spot on your reading list. Ines Johnson crafts a story that promises not just another rendition of an old tale, but a rich journey through realms of love and fate. I received a copy of this book from Grey's Promotions and the author. The opinions are my own.

What a beautiful reimagining of one of my favorite fairy tales. This novella allowed me to get lost in the world that Ines Johnson created and The Beastly Crown is worth the quick read. My first read from this author and I was captivated by her writing style, world building, and ability to make my heart soar and fall out of my chest all at the same time. I adored Ines revisioning of this classic story, but added elements never seen before. She didn’t make it easy for our MCs to find their happy ending, but made their journey well worth the fight.

Adom is both blessed and cursed. Having parents who understood the importance of marrying for love and did everything to be together is his blessing. However, he is who the consequence was doled out to by the gods. As a shifter, he is stuck halfway between his human and lion form. He is able to fully shift to either, therefore is seen as a beast. To break his curse, he must marry a fae princess chosen by the gods.

Belle is a fairy and royal seamstress. She has dreams of becoming a famous dressmaker one day. While traveling with the Fae Queen and Princess on their way to the wedding of the Princess and Adom, the Fae Princess pulls a runaway bride. Now Belle must stand in her place to complete the arrangement. However, upon meeting Adom she is intrigued, not scared. They immediately feel a pull towards each other but how can Belle continue to pretend to be the Princess and continue to betray him, when she isn’t who Adom needs to break his curse.

The passion between these two hooked me from the very beginning. I felt for Adom and him having to deal with his curse, but also for Belle as she fell in love with someone she thinks she can never have. From beginning to end, Ines captivates you with her wonderful storytelling, amazing characters, and a love that is real and pure. I don’t think I can convey with words how much I enjoyed Adom and Belle’s story.

As always, review any author notes before reading.

**** ARC Review ****

The Beastly Crown by Ines Johnson is an amazing retelling of Beauty and the Beast story.

Belle, an amazing seamstress that finds herself in the Fae Princess shoes after she ditches her own wedding and Adom or Pridehaven, a cursed Beast Prince, that was born in an in-between form, half men and half a beast, due to his parents forbidden love, and resigned to a marriage he never wanted, he needs to marry the Fae Princess, chosen by the moon god, so she can break the curse and his people can get rid of the trolls that plague them.

This is a fast-paced story with amazing characters. The romance is just beautiful to read. Adom is just a bright, powerful and raw soul in need of real love in his life, though he doesn't think of himself as worthy of it.

Belle falls very quickly with Adom, but when confronted with the curse and what it means keeping the beast Prince for herself, instead of the real princess, she finds herself with a very dificult decision to make. After all she was only meant to make the royal wedding gown, not wear it.

And the chemistry between both of them? Well, is just like fireworks and full of sparks. I really enjoyed this sweet novella, I read it without putting it down.

So, if just like me, you love:

✔️Beauty and the Beast retelling
✔️Wounded/Cursed Hero
✔️Touch Her and Die
✔️Arranged Marriage
✔️Independent Heroine
✔️Hidden Identity
✔️Forced Proximity
✔️Runaway Bride
✔️Shifter
✔️SHE BANGS THE BEAST

tropes, then you should definitely read this book. I highly recommend it.

“I've given you my hair and now you're trying to get me out of my clothes?”

"Don't stop breathing, little sphinx." "I can't fit both you and my full lungs in my body at the same time."

"Aren't you going to mark me?" "Before our wedding day?" "Does the day matter? I'm yours."

Thank you Ines Writes and The Author Agency ,for sending me this ARC, it was an amazing reading. I really hope the futur will bring us Jorge and Charlotte's story.

This one’s for the girlies who were disappointed when they saw Prince Adam turn into a human.

Who knew beast mode could be this romantic?

From the moment I cracked this Beauty and the Beast retelling, I was hooked. This isn’t your average cursed castle tale — it’s layered with fairy magic, veils of deception (literally), and a heroine who doesn’t just speak her mind… she gives a lion-beast a manicure. And I adored every second of it.

Belle is not the princess meant to marry the Beast — that was Princess Charlotte, a fairy royal biped on out there. Belle, the palace dressmaker, is disguised and sent in her place. But here’s where it gets juicy: Belle isn’t meek, polished, or royal. She’s witty, bold, and curious — and the Beast (Prince Adom) finds her utterly fascinating. Their banter is pure gold, their chemistry absolutely sizzles, and the emotional build-up? Chef’s kiss.

The Beast, caught in a family curse that left him half-lion and half-man, is thoughtful, protective, and surprisingly charming — especially in his POV chapters. He notices something is off almost immediately after the wedding vows, and when the truth comes out… let’s just say I felt that tortured scream.

What I loved:
• Belle’s personality. Even though she’s meant to be pretending to be someone else — she’s just unapologetically herself, veil and all
• The emotional tension: longing, mistaken identity, and a twist that proves love matters more than destiny.
• The spicy scenes (yes, including post-curse, beast-form spice — who knew Belle had a fur fetish?

This book has heart, heat, and the perfect mix of fairy tale magic and modern charm. If you love retellings that do their own thing, with heroines who are brave in all the best ways and beastly heroes who think a lot, this one’s for you.

Loved this. Beauty & the beast is my favourite fairytale so I can be particular about re-telling’s because I love the original story so much.

I loved this book, I loved that there was an aspect of magical and mythical creatures added to it. It was an easy and quick read while still being a journey and I loved the natural acceptance belle the FMC had of Adom the MMC.

He’s spent his entire life being judged and accepting people are scared or repulsed by his sight because of his curse, so he can’t understand why the ‘princess’ Belle, doesn’t seem to have the same reaction to him as everyone else in his life, even his mother can’t look at him without flinching.

Belle has heard the stories of the beastly Prince, but there’s something about him as she really looks at him, she sees a unique, beautiful person who’s been hiding behind fear, he may be fearful and fierce but around her he’s only protective, like being wrapped in a huge protective bubble of warmth, how could she not fall for him.

He thinks she’s his fate: she knows fate is against her, can they come together for a fairytale ending or will fates forces keep them apart.

The only reason I gave this a 4/4.5 I was slightly confused at the end with the curse and the ‘gods’ I just needed one sentence of Adom explaining to everyone else what had happened with his experience. I don’t want to say too much to spoil, it could have just been I missed something, I kind of understood but I just wanted a tiny bit more detail. Otherwise this book was fantastic and such an easy and quick read.

First time I’ve read from this author but I’m definitely invested to see what happens next based on the ending of this book.

I was very lucky to receive this book as an Arc but the thoughts and opinion’s are my own. Thank you Grey’s promotions for the opportunity.

I just finished Beastly Crown by Ines Johnson, and I can honestly say it’s one of the most emotionally resonant fairy tale retellings I’ve ever read. This book didn’t just reimagine Beauty and the Beast—it gave it new depth, soul, and purpose.
Belle is the kind of heroine I’ve been waiting for. She’s smart, creative, compassionate, and refuses to let anyone define her worth. She steps into a cursed kingdom and faces down monsters—literal and emotional—with courage and heart. Her connection with Beast, or Prince Adom, is built on so much more than attraction. It's rooted in mutual respect, vulnerability, and a slow, beautifully developed trust.
Adom's journey was just as moving. Watching him struggle with guilt, anger, and self-loathing—and then begin to rediscover his humanity through Belle’s presence—was powerful. He’s not just a brooding prince; he’s a man carrying the weight of past mistakes, desperate for redemption. And the best part? Belle never tries to “fix” him—she sees him, even when he can’t see himself.
The chemistry between them is real, but what truly captivated me was how Ines Johnson showed that love isn’t about surface appearances. It’s about seeing someone’s soul—their pain, their strength, their capacity to grow. This story is a celebration of inner beauty, and it doesn’t shy away from showing the scars—physical and emotional—that we all carry.
Beastly Crown reminded me why I fell in love with fairy tales in the first place. It’s magical, romantic, and deeply human. I laughed, I teared up, and I rooted for Belle and Adom with my whole heart. If you believe that love is about seeing someone for who they truly are, not just how they look, you need this book in your life.
Please don't forget this book is a stand alone but part of a series. So many brilliant minds behind these books that satisfy that craving of a well written story.

ARC Review

The Beastly Crown is a fast-paced, steamy retelling of Beauty and the Beast that grabbed me from the first page. At its heart is Adom, the cursed Beast Prince, who’s stuck in an in-between form thanks to his parents’ forbidden love. He’s a warrior with a cold, jaded view of love and marriage, believing he’ll marry the princess chosen by fate to break his family’s curse. But when Belle, a talented seamstress, is forced to pretend to be the princess who ran away, sparks fly between her and Adom.

Belle never planned on getting involved in royal life, but when she steps into Charlotte’s shoes, pretending to be the runaway princess, she finds herself falling for the Beast. Adom, in turn, falls for her first, and their chemistry is fire—with plenty of spice to go around. There’s a touch her and die trope that amps up the tension.

While the story has emotional moments, it felt like the author was skimming the surface. The emotional weight of certain scenes didn’t hit as deeply as I’d hoped. You’re told what’s happening, but I didn’t quite feel like I was walking through the emotions with the characters. It left me wanting more depth in those moments, as they could have added a lot to the impact of the story.

The world-building is solid, and I liked the hint at the Troll Wars, but I wish it had been explored more. Secondary characters like Jorge and Charlotte have potential, but they’re not fleshed out yet—something I’m hoping will come in the next book.

Overall, The Beastly Crown is a fun, quick read. While it has some emotional moments, there’s a lot of potential for more as the series progresses. I’m interested to see where the story goes next in The Beautiful Blade.

🌶️🌶️

I really really enjoyed this and would have read it in one sitting if I didn’t have some prior commitments.

Adom, the Beastly Prince. People avoid him at all costs and women cower in fear of him. He has been cursed to be caught between shifts, neither fully human nor fully Lion. He is a man of his people though and will anything to keep them protected. He also spends most of his time in the barracks with the other soldiers. He was even willing to unalive his only friend Jorge for daring to touch his bride.

Belle, overlooked but incredibly talented. She has incredible magic abilities that come in very handy for her friend Princess Charlotte. They do have physical similarities. Belle wants nothing more than to be a designer. She wants her designs and gown on the Royals and society elites.
She has amazing vision and can sculpt clothing to the wearer. Her masterpiece will be the Royal Wedding Dress.
All she ever wanted was to be recognized for her designs, now all she wants is her Beast.

I loved their connection. Belle sees Adom, not a beast, but the man. Adom, upon seeing Belle, immediately claims her. It’s startling to him, he’s NEVER reacted that way before. She’s HIS.

This marriage was not for love, it was to break a curse and fulfill a prophecy. But, both of them are starting to realize that fate has much more in store for them.

Both Belle and Adom are touch starved to different degrees. Adom, where no one, not even his remaining family will touch him and Belle, where people don’t even see her.

I loved the secondary characters, Charlotte and Jorge. I can’t wait for their book.

*ARC Review here 🫡

It's been a while since my last fantasy read and I can't be more happy is this book the one bringing me back to the realm 😌

This is a SHORT story (like really really short, fast paced, insta lust kind of story) but the way it's written makes you believe is way longer. At least for me. I loved that.

I'm a big fan of the retellings and I'm a bigger fan of the beauty and the beast ones. You know what they say, right? Save a kingdom, ride a Beast. Or something like that.

I wish it was more slow burn or the story more long just for the sake of it. I think it has the potencial to be a long story.

Have to say that my favourite character here is the Beast. I want to hug him and give him all the smoochies. He had my heart in half of a page. His mind is a glimpse to the original Beast.

Belle was a cute character and I wish there was more of her in the book because I feel I can't connect with her as much as I do with him. Still, a Belle is always a good choice.

There's no much to say about the story without spoilers but I think if you like B&B, and Scarred (a really really REALLY tamed version but you'll understand it when you read it) you are going to like this one!

And...yes. This is an open door novel. A really open wide door. There's not a lot of scenes or too long but they are explicit. Before aware of that.

I gave it an 4.8 because I don't understand the epilogue and was too fast paced for me. Like....I don't understand the temporal line of the epilogue I'm sorry. Maybe it's me (probably)

A fine time. Quick palette cleaner. Some fluff and smut. Wish it had been expanded more. Too much drama for only 199 pages. I think it would’ve benefitted if it had less drama and just more fluff with the characters. Not a super satisfying ending. I have some questions. Technically mmc married the princess (not the fmc) does this get annulled? He has the fmc's scent how did he not realize the princess wasnt the fmc before the vows? It ends super fast after belle is saved and her and adom are reunited. 😣

Easy to read. Would consider reading this author again, maybe the book about the actual Charlotte🤷🏻‍♀️

Safety&Info:
First person dual Pov
Spice:🔥🔥🔥 descriptive but fast
Romance meter:💚🧡/5

◇Om drama: mmc thinks his friend is trying to steal fmc from him, om was trying to steal the real princess NOT fmc

◇No cheating/sharing/love triangle

◇ 3rd act breakup: ?? Fmc makes a deal with the princess so the mmc curse can be broken, mmc unknowingly marries princess (thinking fmc is the princess) but realizes right after that it wasnt the fmc

4.25 stars. Adom, the male shifter lead, was born cursed to punish his mother for disobeying the gods. Permanently in half shift between man and beast, Adom is a warrior prince but he’s never had anyone want him. He also has an arranged marriage decreed by the gods that he’s willing to abide by to cure his curse and help his people. Belle, the female fae lead, was born poor but is an excellent seamstress. Having won the right to make the princess’ wedding gown, she’s accompanied it to the shifter capital, hoping to acquire new rich patrons to make her life easier.

When the princess absconds, Belle’s resemblance to her means the queen demands Belle take her place until she can be located. Belle is willing to do what needs to be done but she finds herself entranced by Adom. She’d love to stay with him but she knows he needs to marry the princess to be free of his curse…

This novella is dual POV, well written, and a sweet and steamy, rags-to-riches, shifter/fae fantasy romance. I enjoyed the way Belle and Adom interacted from the beginning. I enjoyed Adom’s joy in his happiness with his “decreed” bride. I enjoyed Belle’s lack of fear and her openness to new experiences. I enjoyed their intimate moments. I enjoyed the way the story played out. I also enjoyed the princess and her erstwhile suitor in the background and am looking forward to their story.

I received a complimentary copy from the author and this is my voluntary honest review.

Summary:
This is the retelling of Beauty and the Beast. FMC has taken the place of the MMCs bride to be. The bride has runaway right before the wedding. However, upon meeting the FMC and MMC fall for each other. This leads to one major problem.

Review:
I loved it. I think this is a novella, but it was so good. The pacing is awesome. It draws you in quickly and resolves the issue in such an amazing way. I was really nervous for this couple, but I celebrate that they came together in the end. Amazing.

The Beastly Crown: a Beauty and the Beast Romantasy is the first book of The Lunaterra Chronicles. Each book in the Lunaterra Chronicles has different authors and The Beastly Crown is written by Ines Johnson. This is the first time I have read this author. This book is a quick read.

Adom, the Beast Prince (MMC) was cursed from birth and lived his life as a half-man/half-lion. He was unable to fully shift from one to another because his parents married for love, so the Gods cursed their children. Belle (MFC) is a seamstress who works for the Fairy Queen and Princess. She is also a fairy who has dreams of becoming a dressmaker.

Adom is to marry the Fairy Princess; however, the Fairy Princess becomes a runaway bride. Unknown to Adom, Belle takes the place of the Fairy Princess. This is where the fun begins. This book is a fun read with just another drama, unveiling of secrets, and a good romantic vibe. There is instant chemistry and bonding between Adom and Belle. 🔥🔥

I love a good retelling of Beauty and Beast. I really enjoyed this book.

Okay, I did not expect to get this emotionally invested… but here we are.

The Beastly Crown was a wild ride in the best way. I went into it expecting a steamy monster romance (which, yes, we do get), but it also had way more depth and emotion than I was ready for. It’s dark, intense, and absolutely addictive.

Adom is the kind of character that grows on you fast, he’s brutal, guarded, and full of rage, but underneath all that is someone who’s fiercely loyal and lowkey desperate to protect what he cares about. And the tension between him and his bride-to-be? Absolutely electric. It’s not just attraction, it’s layered, a little dangerous, and really emotionally charged.

I loved how the story didn’t rush anything. The pacing gave space to really sit in those intense, quiet moments that make you feel everything. Plus, the worldbuilding is super cool, gritty and sharp but with just enough intrigue and mystery to keep you flipping pages.

There were moments that made me hold my breath, scenes that gave me butterflies, and lines that had me grinning like a fool. If you like beastly love interests, slow burning tension, protective instincts turned up to a thousand, and stories where emotions hit just as hard as the action—this one is worth picking up.

First Thoughts/Summary:
I really enjoyed this book!

Storyline/Plot:
The plot wasn’t too wild. I love that Belle was more than just someone’s daughter. She had a career and was driven. I love the way humans were outfitted with attachments to help level up in this world. The plot was predictable, but that is to be expected with a fairytale retelling. It is great for someone who wants a lighter romantasy after dealing with a brutal hangover.

Favorite Characters:
I really liked Charlotte, and I’m looking forward to her story getting explained in one of the later books in the series. She is strong and tough and feels like a full-on tomboy princess!

Spice:
There is an interesting flavor of spice. Think of what an animal is covered in. It threw me off a little, but hey, I’m not going ick someone’s like and if it bothers you, just picture the beast how you wanna picture him. Know one will know. The rest was very sweet and sensual.

This was a great book! I was not expecting the book to be filled with fairytale creatures and it defiantly gave an interesting twist to the book.

Bell is a dress maker and is only supposed to design the royal wedding gown. When the fae princess runs away, Belle is forced to take her place by the fae queen. She was only supposed to be a stand in until the fae princess could be found. What she didn't expect was to find someone that actually see her for her, and she defiantly didn't expect to fall in love!
The Beast prince Adom born cursed in a partially shifted state has already accepted the fact that he would not be marring for love but for his duty to the crown and to break his curse. That was until he met Belle, (though he didn't know that she was not the fae princess until later) she swept him off his feet! He is drawn to Belle with everything in him, he has to know more about her and spend more time with her.
Even when the lie that Belle was keeping starts to unravel the love Belle and Adom share stands strong! The sacrifice for each other and come together in the end to live happily ever after!
