Alice and the others hoped reaching the city would bring safety, but they quickly learn that certain things come at a steep price.
As the group struggles to carve out a place in the city, rumors of unrest find their way to Alice and the others. Trust becomes a dangerous game, and with threats lurking both inside and outside the city’s walls, the group finds itself at a stalemate. Alice must decide whom to trust — and how far she’s willing to go to protect her friends.
With safety nothing more than an illusion, they’ll need to find a way to face the darkness of humanity and fight their fears head-on. Will the group rise to fight for their survival, or will the ashes of civilization bury them one by one?
Scorched Fury is the second novel in the Flarefall series from Amazon’s bestselling author of Ravaged Land. It’s a gritty, page-turning survival story of what happens after a solar flare changes everything and the world goes dark. As the world crumbles, one woman must fight to survive. If you like EMP and CME survival stories, you will love this book. Grab your copy and start reading today!
Kellee L. Greene is a stay-at-home mom to two super awesome and wonderfully sassy children. She loves to read, draw, and spend time with her family when she's not writing. Writing and having people read her books has been a long time dream of hers and she's excited to write more. Her favorite genres are Fantasy and Sci-fi. Kellee lives in Wisconsin with her husband, two kids, and two cats.
Alice and her friends may have found the camp, but it may not be a safe haven for them. As they adjust to the new environment, Alice makes a new friend and begins questioning whether or not they are safe. Decisions must made quickly and there is no turning back from whatever choice is made. Have they found a safe haven? Or must they fight for their lives once again? I received an ARC copy. I hope the third book comes out soon!
Scorched Fury picks up where the previous book left off, with Alice and the group heading for Duluth after narrowly escaping Having "camp". Things in Duluth are not as they seem at first. The book is very tense, the reader never knowing what's coming or who will survive. The writing is beautifully executed, clear, vivid and intense. Characters show actual individual personal growth. Highly recommended for ant thriller fans, but especially those, like me, fascinated with the Ravaged Skies universe, and fans of EMP/CME thrillers! 5/5 stars!
The anxiety i had by the the last few pages. WHOOSA. Book 2 picks up right where book 1 left off which I will always thank our lovely author for doing. Alice and crew have now made it to Duluth and there is definitely something off putting right from the start. Things continue to be iffy until they learn things aren't what they seem. I enjoyed Noah's addition to the story line. And the heat between some characters. Now after that ending I'm going to go breathe into a paperback until book 3 thanks!
After reading the first book and purchasing the second book in the series I couldn't wait to dive back into this world.
After finally getting to the city of the destination they were heading towards, the group quickly settle down into the new life they've been thrust into. Placed within a cramped single room, then straight away they are given jobs to do. Set times when expected to eat with other city dwellers, which was barely filling, things don't really jump out at them that things aren't right here, though in some ways the red flags started popping up and word got to Alice from a co-worker about a resistance group aiding people within the cities confines to escape to camps outside the borders.
This was really slow moving, things started to get hairy about 5 chapters from the ending which not going to lie spiked my heart rate up a bit.
The group makes good their escape and reach the city where they’re met by armed guards. Allowed entrance, they quickly realize the worst has happened everywhere. Forced to stay in one room, the 6 find out they are expected to contribute to remain. But there is trouble in paradise and it finds our friends fairly quickly. We meet Noah, but is he a savior or something else? Only time will tell. I look forward to reading more of Alice, Jack and the remainder of the group.
The safety that Alice and her friends were hoping for is not here. Resistance rumours are heard but who can they trust? There are armed guards everywhere at all times, they are being worked hard and with little food. Can they continue to survive this way or is it time to put their future survival in their own hands? Enjoying this series a lot and you should check out all the authors contributing to The Ravaged Skies series.

I wasn't too sure about this story line didn't know if I would like it ,but once I got into it realised it was going to be just as good as.the other books and so I am glad I stuck with it
