This story begins with a little boy asking an older boy to read him a book in the library, but that's not where it ends.

Derek stared down at the little face lifted up to meet his gaze. This kid had Cora all beat in the so-cute-you-wanted-to-pinch-their-rosy-cheeks sweepstakes, and Derek discovered to his distress that he was helpless in the face of his heart-felt request.

"Okay," he grunted, with an eye roll so that the boy knew this was putting him out. "Just this one book, though."

Will you read me a story?

Littlekid!Stiles asking teenagerish(?)!Derek to read him "Where the Wild Things Are" may just be the cutest thing ever.

Though Derek actually reading the story (and a bunch others) to Stiles while they cuddle on a beanbag may be the most adorable thing ever.

Then they grow up and Derek is a leather jacket or an occasional cardigan-wearing librarian and Stiles does stuff like this a lot...



...and it's the hottest thing ever. Well, not ever, but it gets steamy. I like it.

Uh oh. Staring at that gif means I have to go reread Bite Marks and Bendy Straws. Right now.

The story pretty much completely takes place inside a library and it spans a lot of years. So yeah. I liked it.
