The Deamhan world is in chaos as the once feared and Ancient Lugat, Lucius, is freed from Limbo and embarks on a bloody killing spree to eradicate any remaining traitors in the city of Minneapolis. But Lucius is not alone in his quest for power. The Brotherhood has returned, and a growing population of vampires is stirring up the remaining Deamhan who have chosen to stay behind.

As the body count rises, tensions escalate between Deamhan, humans and vampires, forcing them to choose sides. Will they allow Lucius to free the Pure Ones - the first living Deamhan from Limbo - or will they take him out and risk crippling their already-fragile presence in the city?

But when a shocking twist is revealed, alliances are shattered, and the true intentions of each faction are exposed. As they learn the tropes of their world and face the consequences of their actions, Deamhan must decide whether to fight for their survival or succumb to the machinations of those who seek to control them.

Deamhan is another name for vampires who rule the "dark" and the night defines them. Isaiyan Morrison is one such author, who unlike Stephanie Meyer, have not crafted a traditional romantic tale of the so-called vampires, instead, she enlightened us, the readers, with another creature who are similar to vampires, but whose demeanor and lifestyle is more unique and scarier than those vampires, in her book, Deamhan (Deamhan Chronicles #1). Dark Curse is the sequel to Deamhan and as the author says, Dark Curse begins where Deamhan ends. And before you read Dark Curse, I'd recommend you to read the first book.

The massacre at the Gathering has left Deamhan shaken to their core. With their leader, Kei, ousted and on the run, the once feared and Ancient Lugat, Lucius, goes on a killing spree to wipe out the remaining traitors in the city of Minneapolis.

Meanwhile The Brotherhood's return along with the growing population of vampires riles up the remaining Deamhan who chose to stay behind rather than abandon the city.

The body count continues to rise signaling to humans and Deamhan that something malicious is on the horizon. All with have to chose a side. Either allows Lucius to free the Pure Ones--the first living Deamhan from Limbo--or take him out and cripple their already fragile presence in the city.

Well, the best thing about this book is that it starts right in the middle of the bloody war where the first book ends with an air of cliffhanger, hence leaving us clear-headed and almost focussed into the story. Most of the times, we find authors to summarize few events in the book 2 of their series, thus we have to read the same thing twice. Isaiyan Morrison, the author of Deamhan Chronicles is unlike those authors. She has the ability to make us see right through the story from the very beginning in this riveting sequel.

The characters are this time more powerful and stronger. Veronica and Anastasia both are very determined to achieve what they want. This time it is difficult for the characters to trust and believe. Too many options are introduced with too many twists, thus leaving the strong characters confused. This time the plot is very raw and Gothic and too much blood spilled everywhere. This time also the writing is articulate and the flow of narration is smooth.

If you enjoy a thrilling paranormal vampire series book, then you can close your eyes and pick up the Deamhan Chronicles.
Thanks to the author for the copy of her book.

Love, love, love this series so far. In this book their are some new characters along with the others. Like the last book, the character development is perfect, they're likeable with distinct personalities. I really enjoy them.

There's a lot of unexpected in this book, with surprises, thing's I just didn't see coming. I enjoy that in a book. It definitely has it's violence, characters on different sides, that don't agree about releasing the truly immortals the very first ones ever from limbo. This causes side's to be taken, alliances made, scheming to start.

This is truly an excellent series so far. This is book 2, I'm starting book 3 in just a few minutes and I can't wait. The mystery, excitement, action, violence, yet a bit more refined writing of this series, in my opinion makes it for later teens and adults. I personally didn't notice any errors, however I don't think I'd have noticed unless it was really bad, because I was just so into the story, so focused I don't think I'd have noticed. Excellent writing, story, imagination, twists and character development. I would suggest this to anyone over 16.

Lucius was supposed to be the key in restoring order in the deamhan world after he has been released from limbo, but things got worse and more chaotic. He is now more powerful and determined to free the Pure Ones from limbo, believing only they could save deamhans. All hell will be brought among the vampires, humans and deamhans as well if this will happen......

This contains many of what Anastasia called "what-the F&*%-moments"! So many unexpected turns of events and dark twists you wouldn't see coming. So much going on but not confusing at all.....

How Anastasia has changed after that incident when she killed a little girl's parents while camping, how Nathan's father was involved in the missing piece of the Curse tablet, and how the Dark Mother was freed were only some of the events you don't want to miss in this book.

I can't wait to read the third book. I don't know what to expect and how the story will go and end because the author did a great job in twisting the events.

Dark Curse by Isaiyan Morrison a fab four star read. This is the second book in the Deamhan Chronicles. It picks up where the last book left of, this book takes us deeper into the Deamhan world. This follows on in the same vein, keeping us on our toes and keeping the story fresh, it’s not your typical vampire story, the author brings a freshness and fantasy that keeps you guessing if you picked the right side. The clean-up may be on its way, but the bodies still keep piling up. I can’t wait for book three, I only hope it keeps the same strength of writing.

Who could know Minneapolis would be a hot bed of darkness, evil and massacre? Taking over where Deamhan left off, Dark Curse by Isaiyan Morrison continues the nightmare that is the world of the deamhan as one former leader is on the lam and another will stop at nothing to root out those that would betray their kind and end the spread of their poison. The Brotherhood is back, the vampire population is growing and the effort to free the ancient “Pure Ones” from Limbo will cause all to choose sides, as brother fights brother for survival. Welcome back to the fierce world of the deamhan and their brethren, enemies and chaos as we have never known it.

Who is right? Who can be trusted and who will die? Once again, Isaiyan Morrison plunges us headlong into her dark and dangerous world, as we land on the battlefield of the warriors who will determine the fate of the world. What is the best side? Who is less evil? Who is being sincere in their efforts to bring reason to the nightmare of life now? Who stands to benefit the most? These are just the tip of the iceberg of questions that will arise as; once again, Ms. Morrison slams home another electric read filled with layer upon layer of intrigue and a cast of characters that looks like the Minneapolis phone directory. Sound confusing, overwhelming and a little frightening? Not to worry, there is not a single wasted word, scene or character, without them all; the magnitude of this powerful read would be lost.

Dark fantasy for those who love white-knuckling through a taut and well-written tale. Highly recommended, I think Isaiyan Morrison’s writing is like a bold and earthy wine, it improves with each page.

I received this copy from the author in exchange for my honest review.

This thrilling sequel to Isaiyan Morrison's Deamhan, will keep you on the edge of your seat from beginning to end. Dark Curse, however, should be read only after you've read Deamhan, because the author doesn't go into details about what's happened in the previous book and it'll get confusing otherwise.

That being said, you can expect a lot of blood and action in Dark Curse. Plus, you'll especially love it if you're into paranormal vampire novels caught up in an urban war.

Don't let the word "vampire" put you off from reading this series though. Isaiyan Morrison did not write a straightforward vampire novel that reads like every other vampire book on the market. Oh no, this author is far too crafty for that. There are two distinctive races - Deamhan and Vampire - but you don't want to run into either of them in the middle of the night, I can tell you that much. They are, however, both sinister creatures, scheming and plotting creatures, creatures with a taste for blood. It's all very exciting!

Dark Curse is an intricate story, where you'll meet new and fascinating characters. The characters are also easily distinguishable from one another (believe me, you'll fall in love with a few of them - even a bad guy here and there). The writing and narration flows better than it did in Deamhan (don't let that put you off from reading Deamhan though, it's a wonderful book).

All in all, if you're into an urban war between supernatural creatures with hidden agendas, this is going to be right up your alley. Paranormal readers, vampire lovers, and urban fantasy enthusiasts... whatcha waiting for?

Dark Curse is book two of the Deamhan Chronicles. I strongly suggest that you read the books in order or you will be a bit lost as to what is going on as well as trying to figure out what each of the characters are.

The massacre at the Gathering has left Deamhan shaken to their core. With their leader,Kei, ousted and on the run, the once feared and Ancient Lugat, Lucius, goes on a killing spree to wipe out the remaining traitors in the city of Minneapolis.

Meanwhile The Brotherhood's return along with the growing population of vampires riles up the remaining Deamhan who chose to stay behind rather than abandon the city.

The body count continues to rise signaling to humans and Deamhan that something malicious is on the horizon. All with have to chose a side. Either allow Lucius to free the Pure Ones--the first living Deamhan from Limbo--or take him out and cripple their already fragile presence in the city.

This book very obviously picks up where the first left off, which is confusing if you haven't read the first book. Overall, I liked the writing style and the story flowed easily and kept my attention. The writing was clean and there didn't seem to be any glaring errors, formatting or otherwise. I feel that this is a good series and am very interested in reading more. This series will be great for vampire and/or paranormal lovers, it's very enjoyable and I can see it becoming a series that people follow and wait impatiently for new installments.

Dark Curse picks up where Deamhan left off, and in spite of the triumph at having retrieved the one Deamhan who could possibly help Veronica, and settle the unrest within the many vampire clans, all is not well.

Whereas Deamhan focused more on Veronica, her journey, and the obstacles she had to overcome, Dark Curse focuses more on Anastasia, and her own personal conflicts. It also sweeps across the other main players; Kenneth and Mr. Austin at The Brotherhood, Nathan, Remy, Lucius, and Selene – some of whom are playing by their own rules.

The Lucius that returned from Limbo is not the same Lucius that went in. Something’s changed, and he seems to be fixated on his own agenda. In spite of her previous unwavering loyalty to the Deamhan who ahe thought of as her sire for so long, Anastasia has her doubts. Something about him has her spooked, but does she trust him, or her instincts?

With both the Deamhan community and the inner circle of The Brotherhood in turmoil, their fates are bloody and uncertain at best, but Nathan may possess the key to their salvation – or their ruin, depending on whether or not it falls in to the wrong hands.

Dark Curse really raises the stakes in comparison to its predecessor – as the book follows many of the same characters, the reader becomes more invested in the outcome, but again, the editing lets it down. 3.5/5 for Dark Curse, but nevertheless, I’m looking forward to reading the third installment of the Deamhan Chronicles.

Oh my bejesus!! Just WOW!!!!!

Okay so I had hard time putting this book down . It was so jampacked full of twist that you didn't see coming, of nonstop action that left you on the edge of your seat waiting for more. With all the details of the author put into this book it was like you with their fighting alongside Anastasia, questioning everybody with Veronica, and secretly laughing at Remy and is cocky crazy self! I cannot wait for the next book in the series I know from this book is just going to be mind blowing greatness! I would definitely have to recommend this book to everybody . Adults that is there is a few scenes that people under the age 16 probably shouldn't read. But goodness gracious this book had me on the edge of my seat and it was just wonderful I seriously cannot wait for the next book! There's just something about a vampire book that has a variety of demon species, even though they are all related in some way, and that they are like none you ever read about before. I love these demons and I'm sure you will too. Hurry and grab your copy today! You will NOT regret it!

Well little 'ol me read this out of order and started this one first, lol. While I see how it can be read as a stand alone I would recommend starting at book 1 in the Deamhan Series.

This is for sure a very dark thrilling read to finish in one sitting. I honestly was quite impressed with it and plan on reading it in the correct order. I loved how this one went into the Deamhan world. I love descriptive worlds. That's my thing. I overall love Anastasia as a lead female character. I loved how it really got into depth of the world an characters in this one. I'm guessing book one didn't quite get as detailed but don't know since I haven't read it yet <3

This is a very fast paced read. You'll love it especially if you love any type of paranormal worlds and characters. Would highly recommend this book and I do hope the series is as rocking as this book was.

This book follows up where the first one left off and boy is there a lot going on! I won't put spoilers but I will say a few things regarding Isaiyan Morrison. The writing is absolutely spectacular, from the structure of the story itself to the way it allows the reader to be in the know even if they missed book one. Bloody, action packed and addicting, you'll find yourself completely within this exciting world that Morrison has created. I also love that this book is not like other vampire novels that are out today. The idea and creativity of this is so incredibly unique, and I have a feeling that this is the beginning of a new era and perspective in the way people look at the vampire. Can't wait to read more of Morrison's work. Highly recommended!

This is an Honest Review and is simply my opinion.

This is the first novel I have read by this author and as this novel is part of a chronicles it is my opinion that it does not stand alone. I found it difficult to settle into the story as I had not previously read the authors other novels leading up to this one. However I would have to say that the authors work is solid. It is well constructed and has the ability to paint the scenes using words. The authors character build and world build shows the ability to spin a story with an intricately woven web.

I would recommend that readers begin with the first novel in this series to avoid missing a single trick.

Deamhans,Vampires, and Lugats.....oh my.I so got lost in this book and immediately had to go read "Deamhan" by this author as well. It's not your everyday vampire story....it's better. it's refreshing to read a vampire book that doesn't make them sparkle and the author thinks outside the box.I get tired of the same ol'same ol'and this book was outstanding and definitely kept me up all night because well....I HAD TO FINISH it.I hate spoilers so I don't leave any.But I will tell you this....you do not want to miss out on this book or anything this author has to offer.....I loved it and i promise you will too!!!

The description was more than enough to bring me back into author Isaiyan Morrison's world. Having read Deamhan just over a year ago, I have been anticipating this next book in the series. It did not disappoint me. The book opens and closes on a heated pace that the first book started and I am eager to see where the tale continues to go!!

I am addicted to her work. I will happily admit that. Sometimes the characters aren't always consistent, however her work is always amazing. I will continue to read her work. She infuses so much emotion into her stories. No one is perfect but she is damn close.

If it was possible I would give her TEN STARS! A huge round of applause for isaiyan Morrison!

MY REVIEW:
I was given a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

‘Dark Curse’ is the second installment of the Deamhan Chronicles. Whereas the first book was told mostly from the human, Veronica’s, point of view, this book focuses on the Deamhan, Anastasia, as she comes to terms both her mentor, Lucius, plotting to bring about the ruin of all they know and her own surprising struggle with new, more compassionate, feelings. Feelings a Deamhan shouldn’t have.

I liked being given a more intimate view of the Deamhan. They are more than bloodthirsty monsters. They were once human, too, and this book does a good job of showcasing that humanity.

I was particularly intrigued by Kyra, the oldest Deamhan alive. I hope there will be more of her in future installments.

Remy didn’t seem all that interesting to me in the first book, but ‘Dark Curse’ brought him more to the forefront, and I really liked him. He’s one of those characters I could see becoming a fan favorite.

There are still many questions left open from the first book, and this one creates a myriad of its own. I can’t wait to see what happens in the end! I said in my review of the first novel that I felt like I could see it being made into a movie. I hold on to that statement with this book. This series would be really fun and exciting on screen.

Don’t let the “vampirey” nature of this series dissuade you. It’s a unique and compelling concept all on its own. Give it a read!

The Deamhan are in chaos since Lucius was brought back by Selene. There have been killings all over and there appears to be a divide coming.

With the Brotherhood trying to play both sides who will give in and align with them in the end and where will that leave Veronica Austin?

As Anastasia and Remy try to decide which side to be on what will the cost be?

This is the second book in the Deamhan Chronicles and they need to be read in order.

This was definitely an interesting story with the battle of the Deamhan and how they were picking up the pieces after the Gathering. I was definitely shocked at what happened to Silvanius and I knew from that moment everything was changing.

I liked Anastasia and how she was where she was for a reason initially and that was to protect Veronica yet she was also loyal to Lucius. This created a lot of conflict as she was also trying to protect her people from what she believed was coming. I really liked the "alliance" between herself and Remy and how well they worked together.

I was kind of disappointed that we didn't get much of Veronica in this book as I really liked her character. I'm also terrified on what is going on with Nathan Tiernan and hopefully if he is sick Veronica can get better and take his place at Blind Bluff manor.

My opinions of Selene and Lucius definitely changed in this book and I am curious to see whether I understood the end correctly for the next book. I was kind of disappointed that we never really got to know Kei after everything he was built up to be.

I still absolutely hate the Brotherhood and Kenneth and I really hope someone brings him down in the next book!!

Looking forward to the next book!

>Book Review – Dark Curse

>I am an independent reviewer. This book is the 2nd in the Deamhan Chronicles and the ending doesn’t really conclude any of the major story lines. This story focuses mainly on Anastasia. She is heartless and will blindly follow whatever Lucius tells her to do. There is a particularly disturbing scene where she kills some children Deamhans without remorse. Anastasia begins to grow back her humanity for some reason and works with Remy and Veronica to find a missing artifact and save both Deamhans and humans from the threat of the “Pure Ones”.

>The story hinted at a romance between Remy and Veronica, but the trust is not quite there yet. A plot twist really comes in to play, causing the Brotherhood to actually team up with Anastasia to save the world. A few new Deamhans are added and the historical ties between all of these characters are confusing to keep track of.

>The human, Nathan, is like the Deamhan whisperer. He is the only human that Deamhans consider a friend. Nathan’s father is a big part of this story as he hid his knowledge of artifacts to release the Pure Ones from Limbo. Nathan is not healthy in this book, but his illness is not revealed. On the whole this story moves forward a little bit with a lot of gratuitous violence and gore unnecessary to advance the plot.

>This book is appropriate for an adult audience. I am giving the story 4 stars.

Book 2 focuses on Lucius who is free from Limbo and on a killing spree in the city. His intention is to release the Pure Ones – the first of the Deamhan. In Book 1, we were introduced to Veronica Austin, who had returned to Minneapolis after 20 years to find out what happened to her Mother. She is the daughter of the man in charge of The Brotherhood and has recently learned that her father had helped arrange for her mother’s death. Now she and a number of others have to stand up against the evil Lucius and his cohorts. With The Brotherhood also active again, everyone’s work is definitely cut out for them!

This is an exciting series that moves lightning-fast and keeps the reader entranced with everything that is going on. The detail the author provides is extraordinary and creates a reality that will make you shudder! You’ll move among vampires and many different types of Deamhan in following the action. Yet there is still more to come, so keep reading and immerse yourself fully into this fascinating world! The vampires will look tame once you see what the Deamhan are capable of doing!

Dark Curse is Book 2 in the Deamhan Chronicles which begins where Deamhan. Book 1, ended. Isaiyan Morrison has created a unique storyline and world of vampires. The world she has created is phenomenal and so well written you are drawn into the story as you read and experience the action, twists, turns, etc. along with the main characters; Anastasia, Veronica, and Remy. This is a true page turner from beginning to end. There is so much information provided that will keep you on the edge of your seat and wanting to know more. This is an enjoyable read in a unique world with well developed interesting characters. Am anxious for the next book as I want to find out what Isaiyam has in store for us. I highly recommend this series. Received a copy from Booksprout and this ix my voluntary and honest review.

With each one of these books I read, I get more and more confused but yet so much more invested in these characters and this world I can't help but become so immersed in Isaiyan's world!
If you didn't read the first book, I would highly recommend it since Dark Curse picks up where Deamhan left off.
Once I started this one I couldn't put the darn book down! I stayed up late and took my kindle with me everywhere so I wouldn't miss a minute of reading this.

I don't want to give away too many details, but trust me you will love this book as much as me, because I don't think anyone could love it more than me =)
If you love a book with great character building and amazing world building you have to give this one a try!

Book 2 in the series and lets just say its not for the faint of heart. These creatures are completely different than most have read before. I do so love new and different. I enjoyed it very much. New characters and things get more in depth and oh so chaotic! We get more of Remy and he's just oh so delicious! I'm a fan for sure! Poor Anastasia just wants to kill him a lot because he annoys but of course she doesn't...*sighs*. I really liked her. I thought I enjoyed book 1 but this was just even better! I was more comfortable with the different types of Deamhan's and others than the first book. Not so confusing...thank you Isaiyan! I'm totally going to delve deeper in this series.

This book is the second book in the series and I was able to see the author become more comfortable with writing these characters, this world, and the overall plot. I can't go into too much detail because it's the 2nd book, and you really need to read the first book. The world building is just as awesome as the other book. The characters are strong and I'm really loving getting to know all the different characters on a different level.

I loved all the action and how complex the story is. This picks up where the first book ended, so we start right back in with the action and the crazy ride! I can't wait to see where the author is going to take the next book. 4 stars #2OCCJD

Wow this is another amazing read into the Deamhan saga and this is book 2 of the Deamhan Chronicles. I really don’t know where to start with this review because I don’t want to give away too many spoilers so here’s just a little bit. Lucius was betrayed by his made son Kei - book 1.5, now Lucius is free from limbo and he wants revenge. This story has me gob smacked and that’s never happened to me before I’m at a loss for words lol but I will say that this story is action packed with nail biting scenes and I’ve never read anything like this before. An amazing story a 5 +++++ plus ⭐️ read and I highly recommend this book it’s definitely well worth the read.

Our human and Deamhan friends are out to stop two powerful, crazy Deamhans from releasing the first ever Deamhans, The Pure Ones, which would mean death and destruction for humans and deamhans alike! So much action and kick butt right scenes!! This series ROCKS!!! On to book #3!!!

Dark Curse

A thrilling sequel full of twists that left me wondering who was really good and who wasn’t. This story was full of so many shades of gray it was hard to tell what was the right course and what wasn’t.
I enjoyed how unique this story was and can’t wait to see what happens next.

This is the 2nd book in the series, it continues where the 1st left off so I recommend reading them in order. At times I was a bit confused but also so engrossed by the story. It's very fast paced and hard to put down because of all the excitement. The adventure and others that are trying to stop the mission just make it so thrilling. On my way to read the 3rd book now!!!
