This was my first foray into the world of private detective a.k.a troubleshooter Hannibal Jones, but it won’t be my last. Collateral Damage features a complicated plot, where a missing person case turns into a full-blown murder investigation, spanning the globe from Washington DC to Frankfurt Germany to Las Vegas. It’s written in a terse, hardboiled style that still manages to be descriptive, and moves the story along at a satisfying pace. Twists and turns abound as Hannibal develops new theories of the case as new evidence surfaces. The solution is unexpected but logical. Kudos to the author!
