Love and trust are rarely logical.

Maisie Swift knows how to read people and deliver exactly what they want. As an escort facing the end of her career, she accepts an offer that seems too good to refuse. Ten thousand dollars to get close to a reclusive computer programmer and steal his code.

Deception comes naturally. Feelings don't.

Wilson Potter has built his life around precision and control. Isolated in his off-grid Appalachian cabin, his work for Taylor Industries is his sanctuary. When a beautiful stranger in a vintage VW appears with car trouble, his carefully constructed world begins to shift.

Their connection was never part of the plan.

What starts as deception transforms into something neither expected. As lightning illuminates the mountain man’s gentle soul, Maisie's feelings for Wils deepen, and the stakes become deadlier than she imagined.

Some choices can cost everything.

The shadow puppeteer tightens his grip, forcing Maisie to choose between completing her mission to betray the man she's falling for and risking her life to protect him.

This forced proximity, secret identity, romantic suspense novel features steamy true love, no cheating, some serious angst, and an HEA for the couple. It concludes the overarching conflict from the first five books in the Taylor Industries series. The books are best read in order.

Yet again, Maria brings another fantastic story in the Taylor Industries series. While Wilson, aka Wils, isn't a Taylor by blood he is family by choice. Wils is smart but needs to have control over how things work. I mean when you are in charge of making sure the technology Taylor Industries is involved in works properly then order and control is ideal. That is until Maisie enters his life and something happens...Wils starts to feel something for this stranger. However, does this stranger that just happens upon his isolated home there with alternative motives.

The chemistry between Wils and Maisie is like nothing other. Maisie is able to read people quickly and to Wils this is something he find attractive. Maisie asks the right questions and is interested in how Wils mind works. However, will the reason Maisie is in Wils life change this and make what Maisie feels for him ruin everything.

This book does end in a HEA, not just for Wils and Maisie but for the whole Taylor family. All lingering questions are answered and all the puzzle pieces fit together. My heart is sad to not be able to read more about the Taylor family but this book is the perfect ending to what is a great book series.
