When I thought this trilogy couldn't get any darker, it got DARK, deep, and unforgiving!
The twists had me mortified, and like the first book, the spice was UNHINGED.
All of this is unhinged 😂
But the spiiiiice! Omfg. the wax? the ledge?! 😈

My jaw dropped! There were moments I genuinely wanted to throw my laptop, but I couldn’t stop reading! Delilah really made my heart ache again. She’s been through so much, and it was tough to read at times. But seeing where she ended up, especially with Kane. He was also a reason my heart hurt too. And that cliffhanger? I need Book 3 right now!

I don’t know what AX puts in her books, but Damn!! She kills it every time!! The recap that AX wrote about the first book had me laughing so hard, it was amazing and the perfect way to start the book!! I read this book three times because it’s soooo good and there is so much that happens!! If you thought the first book was dark, this one is even more dark than that. AX has a way of making this dark, twisted, and Depraved world that slowly reveals the secrets of Kane and Delilah, and you just can’t put it down. This book starts where the first one left off, and Delilah wakes up, but this time she remembers everything. This time, instead of playing Kane’s game, she is going to make him pay for F**king with her mind. But in making Kane play her game, secrets start to reveal themselves. In the first book, we are reading about how Delilah thinks she is going crazy and how she doesn’t remember much about the time Kane was in prison. In this book, we get what happens to Delilah during that time and how crazy her and Kane’s families are. And my boy Kane, holy hell, my boy went through it. We see how Asher treats Kane and how the rest of the family sees him as the reflection. My heart broke for him but also for Delilah. We also see how Kane and Delilah meet for the first time and their relationship throughout the years. You understand these characters so much more, and you see some of the secrets that are revealed. But for every secret that is revealed, I swear there are two more that appear. This book is wild; you will go on a wild ride, and you will hate for their parents to grow, and you will hate the Kane’s grandmother; she is psychotic.You will also find out about the generational curse that you want to end because WOW.(You have to read to find out.) But I thought this book would also give you an epic love story that isn’t quite finished yet. Kane and Delilah have so much trauma from everyone around them, and you just need them to have their HEA. I can’t wait for the next book because I need to know what happens, especially after that cliffhanger. I also have a feeling that AX has wayyyy more twists and some more mindfuck games up her sleeve, especially for the last book, and I can’t wait to figure them out and see all the secrets come to light. And before I forget Please Please Please Check the trigger warnings for this book AX literally gives you a warning about how you might lose your Sanity and that she’s not responsible for that. This book comes out on Kindle Unlimited on July 18th, and trust me, you want to go on this wild ride.

The dark twisty and shocking secrets have only deepened in book 2 and I’m all in for it. We found out from book 1 the shocking fact that Asher was in fact Kane all along. This book exposes not only Delilah’s family but more importantly Kane’s. That really does open your eyes to their family history, beliefs and traditions of a very dark tale.
Your mind will be going into overdrive trying to work out what’s happening and the why…everything does come to light and leads you down a darker path.
Delilah becomes stronger in this book, she is feeling more herself. But her emotions towards the Kane she once knew that protected her and the Kane who wants to ruin her-yet still holds her close are even more conflicted.
We find out more about Kane aside from his family but what happened to him, which is heartbreaking as you realise how screwed his mind has been turned too. He thought he knew everything and with only one goal in mind…only now you start to see the flip happen for his feelings towards Delilah.
Once you hit that moment then you might be able to breathe…but not for long. Soon you're gripping the pages and second guessing everything.
This is not for the faint hearted, it’s a heavy dark mindfuck of a read and full of detail with deep emotions.
“Call me baby again. Make me real, Delilah. Bring me back as yours.”

Kayy so I’ve been sitting on this for a few days now, utterly speechless and uncertain of what to write. I absolutely love everything Ax writes, and this isn’t just because were friends but more that she knows how to draw you in and keep you captivated with her writing. Now I’m going to be honest, I had so many emotions when reading this story. So many emotions that once again I’ll go back to, I finished this book a few days ago and I’m still uncertain of how I feel.
The first book we meet Delilah, Asher and Kane, it’s based around Delilah being stuck in her head and Kane playing twisted games with her, now fast forward to the second book in the Trilogy and we have a further backstory into Kane and Delilah. This picks up where book 1 Devious Delusions left off. There is tons of trauma in this book, my heart broke multiple times for both MC’s, Kane I have a love/hate relationship with, one minute I hated him and the next my heart broke for him. There are some dark graphic scenes more in this story than the first so please don’t go in blind just for it to be too dark and give her a negative review because she certainly warns her readers on what they’re getting themselves into.
That ending… left me speechless and so frustrated I legit threw my tablet, as much as I wanted to devour this piece I had to step away and just breathe at times because my emotions were a lot. I have never been so frustrated that I wanted to yell and scream at the same time, but this only goes to show how well Ax does at writing her masterpiece books. At times I questioned my own sanity then I questioned Ax’s (literally climbed right into her inbox). If you think Kane is delusional and warped, you’ll get a whole new perspective when you met his and Delilah’s family.
After that cliffhanger, literally, I need book 3 like I need air.

I am still not over from the freaking story of the first book, but see here I am reading book two to get my mind more tangled up in this dark romance while at the same time figuring out what was happening and now where it is all going with having more questions of what to expect in the next book. My mind has become one jumbled place of theories.
AX Cole hats off. Truly. I believe it is no easy feat to write a story, and it is even more difficult when the plot is so intricate with so much happening at once, and the players are more than you expected or can even think off. I loved the writing and it complements the plot very well, keeping me hooked and addicted.
It’s still not enough that the book ended, and I want more, like right now. I don’t want to stop reading, I want it to get converted into a tv series where you can watch episodes daily, and they keep coming on. I want that kind of supply because I can’t deal with cliffhangers, and this one was brutal. I just pray that I don’t have to wait long for the conclusion.
My warning to you that it is not for faint hearts, so do read the triggers first, which is quite a list. And then start at your own risk of being sucked up into it and left unsatisfied with the craving for more. Delilah was fantastic, and how she takes things is commendable. I love her character and wanted to punch Kane on many occasions, but Kane, being morally grey, you can understand the feeling.
I want destruction in the next book and some solid punches to all the people who deserve it. There needs to be justice for what they did and are still doing. Some soulless humans think they can be God’s. There were times when I was on the edge of crying, and the emotions could be felt like they were in the real world. It touched my heart. I AM ADDICTED. Period.

I swear I don't know how AX does it. She keeps you on your toes with every single book that she writes. I fell in love with her after reading ECB series and every time she writes a new book she ups the game. This series has been such a fun and interesting read. It is not for the faint of heart. If you have triggers you definitely want to check those out before venturing into this series. Do not get mad at her if you read it and you cannot handle it. She warns you your sanity might be at risk and that she is not responsible for that. I absolutely love the characters she has created as well as the story for this trilogy. She has created a complex world that you cannot help but be intrigued by it. There are so many twist and turns in this book. We learn a lot of secrets from the first book, but we are also left with way more. I am dying for the epic conclusion of this series. I know that it is going to be fantastic. I absolutely love Kane. He has gone through so much for the love of a woman. He does take walking red flag to the next level with what he does to Delilah for hurting and betraying him. He does not know that there is more to her and what she went through. We get bits and pieces but I know she has so much more to reveal and when it is all revealed it will be explosive. Will they finally put the past behind them and make a real life together? Only time will tell. I cannot wait to see what the last book has in store for us especially since she has given us so much to look forward to in these first two books. I know that it will be chefs kiss. AX has an uncanny way of creating dark but fun to read stories. Don't miss out on her or her books. She is totally worth the read.

Lemme tell you, if you’ve read the first book, then you’ll NEED to read this one! It goes into so much detail and I NEVER expected just how DARK, SICK and DEPRAVED the truth actually is! I was not expecting the way everything revealed itself, I was stuck stupid through so much of it. Had to literally put my phone down and walk away. Like it’s messing with my mind just how DARK and UNHINGED everything that happened and why it happened is. From sick parents, to an even SICKER grandmother (if you could call her that), sick uncles, I can’t wrap my mind around it all. Wheeeew I’m just … like OMG.
I want so badly for Kane and Delilah to get away from their crazy family and just be happy… well as happy as their now messed up minds allow them too. I hope in book three we will get to see this warped family taken down and eliminated from this earth. Kane and Delilah deserve redemption for everything this family has done to them. This generational curse needs to come to an end!

Well, well, well! Having read deviant delusions, I was excited for a new instalment from Kane and Delilah! It was definitely different than the first book, in the same way Haunting and Hunting Adeline are different style books. I loved the back and forth of devious delusions, but I completely ate up this version where you really get to know more on their back stories and why they are this messed up!
If you think Kane is dark and twisted... you haven't met his family? Love an addition of a crazy family that keeps you guessing, and this one has to be one of the darkest things I have read with some seriously dark elements! You need to read the trigger warnings as there are a lot of things that could definitely be too much for some!
I want to thank A X Cole and her team for the opportunity to ARC again for this second book and I NEED to be doing this ARC for book number 3 because I NEED to know what is going to happen... the ending 😳... I think I held my breath...!

When a book makes you want to rage and cry at the same time you know that the author did their job very, very well. Every time you think that you had it figured out, there was another twist that leaves you wondering how did you get here. I was never sure whether I was sympathetic towards Delilah or if I wanted her to... well you get the drift. And Kane?? There are no words for how much I wanted to hold him and tell him that it would be OK. He also gave new meaning to "it is all in the perspective". The trauma, and the drama was top tier. Please make sure to check your triggers because it can get pitch black at times when reading this story. There are moments when you want to cry and then other times when you want to yell at the words on the page because they are able to get under your skin in just the right way. If you want a book about revenge, psychological warfare and redemption arc all in one this is your book. From start to cliff hanger, you would want to know how this story end just to be edged in the most bittersweet way. Cole is very talented and does not disappoint in any way.

Deviant Illusions is book 2 in the Memento trilogy and you need to read book 1 for context of what's happening in book 2. This story is... dark dark. Like, pitch black. Kane is way more depraved and deranged than I thought. But I do just want them to have a chance to just be able to be together. Kan just loves Delilah hole heartedly and just wants that love returned. But we learn in this book that both Kane and Delilah have trauma that runs deep and comes from their past with their families.
I really appreciated the recap at the beginning of the story to remind us of what happened in book 1. I think this should be a mandatory thing in series books. I have a hard time remembering and this was just so beneficial and helpful.
The writing in this story is absolutely captivating. It really draws the reader in and has you questioning everything since both main characters are a bit unreliable. The character development in this book was... a lot. We got so much backstory on each of them and it gives us that much more understanding of why they are the way they are. I really enjoyed this one, but it does end on another cliffhanger that will have my spiraling until the next one!!

I’ll keep it real: A.X. Cole writes some of the most depraved thrillers I’ve ever read in my life. But mannn is the material enthralling. I’m so glad I read Devious Delusions right before diving into Deviant Illusions, but it’s been a wild few days for my emotions and mental state lol. I wish I could have the third book in my hands right now.
Honestly, I don’t know what to say except that the warning of this follow up being way more extreme than book one is ACCURATE. At least I knew to check my sanity in the box so helpfully provided at the beginning this time. But sheesh! I got a bunch of answers from the questions I was left with…so of course I have a whole new set of questions.
Y’all. The cliffhangerrrr. I know I’m gonna be obsessed with everything I read for quite some time now. Gah. This book is unhinged. But I recommend the entire series without even knowing what the third book’s title will be. No question. Deviant Illusions os the second installment in The Memento Trilogy and must be read after Devious Delusions, book #1, respectively.
This book.......what a h€ll of a turn around in the story....! Althought we got acquainted with some twisted aspects in the first book, this second made me feel like Alice in Unhingedland, going through the mirror and opening a pandora box of such level of bizarre, depraved, degenerate and vicious atmosphere that you keep wondering how Delilah and Kane are, in all their internal mess, somewhat sane.
It is literally a family matter..... an ancient, demented and a maniac of a Puppetmaster pulling the strings of the cunning and subservient that are puppeteers of their own.
Emotionally challenging, the narrative develops at the pace of Kane and Delilah's exchange of accusations, guilt, remorse, memories and mementos of rage and passion and the inhuman effort to make sense of it all, because the truth is the ugliest reality.
The end left me literally in a precipice....the battle will be demoniac, but that will be the only way to win the war!

Another crazy ride in the Memento Trilogy! This book was full of questions but we did get lots of answers too!
It gives an insight on the families of Kane & Delilah, how f****d they are, how they have been abusive and torturous to Kane & Delilah. We get to know them both in more detail, how they both feel, the anger, sadness but the raw love they also feel for one another. Both conflicting in their thoughts with their minds remebering events differently, but believing they are right. It's a tragedy, you feel so emotional for them, what they have endured and continue to do so.
Swinging back and forth with lies, moods changing, Kane and Delilah take their hate out for their families on one another. A gripping book that leads us down for rabbit holes than Alice!
Eagerly awaiting book 3 in this passionate, infuriating, gory, twisted Trilogy. I am loving it.Does end on a cliffhanger, that will make you want to scream with frustration!

When the author warned us this book would be heavier than the first — THIS IS NOT A DRILL, I'm not even sure if I'm processing this right. Should I praise the author? Should I scream? Should I hate? Should I love?😂 GOSH! This series is destroying me! Heavier doesn’t even begin to cover it. This sequel doesn’t just peel back layers — it rips them wide open.
Every twist, every emotional turn is masterfully timed. It’s one of those books that forces you to sit with your own judgment, grief, and guilt — just as the characters do. The writing is exceptional.
When I thought the Haunting Adeline series was twisted and emotionally tormenting (in that agonizingly addictive way), this series is tenfold worse. It’s darker, messier, and, somehow, even more beautifully tragic.
In all the normalcy that my brain and emotion has been left with, I do hope they find the ground and peace that they are looking for.

With the first book, you had me thrown around like a rag doll.
And for this one?! Just take me already 😭
I loved how the first book was recapped, lol
So, in this book, we get more explanations, but that doesn't mean it's white and black.
Delilah is stronger, and I am here for that!!
I am unsure how I feel about Kane. Idk if it's because I'm just a suspicious type of person in general or what, lol
Oh, and the parents?! You're going to LOVE to hate them because I did.
I wanted to scream, throw my Kindle, and go outside for a walk lol. I had lots of feels in this one.
And my sanity?! It's barely there 🫠

A.X. Cole is the reigning queen of "What in the (*&^ did I just read? I *LIKED* it but WHAT?!?!" to me.
What I love the most about this Trilogy in process is that we are going on this journey with Delilah.
We are learning everything about her family and the families she grew up around with her. Add to that the fact that both she and Kane are unreliable narrators and everything is questionable because ... what do they really know? It's such a fun journey ... despite all the ick, all the EW and there is a lot of EW. Just hold on, enjoy the ride, and trust the process.
I am already bouncing on the tips of my toes demanding the resolution of all the plot lines and to learn all answers in book three.

That was a rollercoaster I was not prepared for. DI is way more twisted and cruel and unhinged than DD was. You must read both books in order to understand what’s going on.
It took me awhile to get into this book, but when I finally did, I couldn’t put it down. I want to hate Kane for what he’s done to Delilah but as his past, their past, is revealed more in this book, I just can’t. Both families have secrets, lies, and delusions that have catapulted their children into lives that have been nothing but games full for hurt and deceit.
And let’s not talk about the literal cliff hanger this book leaves us on. I enjoyed this book way more than the first. The plot just thickened and twisted us to a whole new level!

OMFG. I don't know what I just read but HOLY COW was it amazing! I had been waiting for this continuation since February and it did not disappoint! The things that go on inside of AX Cole's brain should probably be studied but What The Actual Eff?
From stalking/tricking/drugging/torturing/trying to kill his wife to trying to save her from the horrors that are their families... there was not a single page that didn't have something going on that I was trying to get to the bottom of. Idk what kind of family reunions ya'll have - but I NEVER want to be a part of this one. It just didn't stop. Like what?!
Anyway... I can't wait until the next/final chapter because I need answers!

Yet again, this book series has sucked me in and spit me out! The story is one hell of a ride, and I never know what's truly real and what's not! my feelings are all over the place with this one. in this book, we get more of the back story and history behind everyone and what's lead everything to this exact moment. let me tell ya, I had to take breaks just to wrap my mind around what I was reading because what in the actual hell was that 🤯 I love both MMC & FMC oh so much. they have both been through war, and its still not over! these two have my heart with how much they are both holding onto a sliver of hope of a chance of something other than the lives they were given. I'm really looking forward to the next book and hope all our questions will get answered!

So many twists and shocking secrets. Finding out more about the families of Delilah and Kane have you wondering who is pulling the strings and keeping lines blurred as to what is going on. I was on edge, I couldn’t get through the book fast enough. As soon as I start to get answers, then I’m left with more questions. The lies and deception are jaw dropping and the roller coaster ride I just took has my mind blown. Wicked crazy good!

If you thought the first book was a doozy, you may want to skip this one 😅 it's heavier in every way. Steam, conflict, trauma, all of it. Don't even get me started on the cliffhanger!
Kane was unhinged and glorious while Delilah navigated her newfound power. Together they were an untamed storm willing to destroy anything in their way. I'll be impatiently waiting for the conclusion!! 😤

When the author warns you that a book will be heavier than the first —THEY ARE NOT LYING!!! Im not even sure what I should be doing right now! Praise the author? Scream? Hate it? Love it? This series absolutely destroys the reader in the best way possible! Heavy doesn't even come close to it. It's one of those books that forces you to sit and judge yourself and question your own sanity. It's darker, messier, and, somehow, even more beautifully tragic than any other book I’ve read!
