Eve is a young, homey girl stuck in a dead-end job at a museum gift shop—despite having a degree in Egyptology. Her life takes a wild turn when she literally runs into Lucien, a handsome billionaire curating a new exhibit based on sacrifices to the gods.
Lucien offers her a position as his assistant, and soon the two are jet-setting across the globe, uncovering ancient relics and sharing more than just professional chemistry. 👀 The spice? Let’s just say it’s definitely not lacking.
But not everything is as it seems. Between mysterious artifacts, divine whispers, and a watchful police officer named Michael—who might just be an angel—the story takes a twist that flips everything on its head.
While the plot and mythology were intriguing and the twists unexpected, the third-person POV made it a little harder for me to connect fully with the characters. Still, it’s a wild, steamy ride for anyone who loves mythology, danger, and temptation wrapped in one.

This is a great book! I really enjoyed this read! I feel connected to her and her actions. He is a morally gray swoony billionaire. What’s not to like love! The twist at the end had me gasping aloud! Consider me shocked! The author is so nice, I am so happy to have read this as an ARC!
"Coffee's very important to me. It's how we met, after all." "Is it though?" "Well, it was how I thought we met. Come on."
Plot ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Spice 🌶️🌶️ I read this as an ARC and let me tell you I fell in love so fast! Within the first few pages I was trapped with no way out,I knew this would be a quick read. If you have watched the show Lucifer this kind of gives those same vibes. There's a billionaire devil, angels, mythology, and romance (a little bit spicy.) The plot of the book held my attention and kept me turning the pages to see what was going to happen next. The end left me going "I knew it!" And had me more than excited to see how the next book will turn out! The plot is truly amazing and kept me hooked. Stories about gods and goddesses, dark fae, and even mentions the brothers Grimm at one part. It is by no means a very smutty book, but if you like your books with more story than smut this is a go to book to pick up!
There is so much to unpack in this one. It was entertaining and making you think, not just read and flip through. It is a tale that keeps me engaged and imagining the places within. It is more complex but not too much that it needs a lot of explaining. It is a creation that should be embraced and read to be enjoyed not to just tick off another book to go and read again and again. It has a balance of spice to plot leaning more towards plot. Definitely recommend
was chosen for an ARC review and I am glad for it. Nothing in this book is exactly what it seems. Some things you can guess but others nope. Other things I looked up as I wanted further knowledge or to see if it was based on something. Micheal, Lucien, and Eve are a cast of characters and poor Eve is in the middle of it all. It has magic, myths, and even a voodoo priestess (I'm still convinced she's the real one). The ending is not quite a cliffhanger but an appropriate spot for book 2.
First off, thank you to Ruby Thorn for the opportunity to read this as an ARC. I absolutely adored this story. I did not see the ending coming! I am so excited for the next book!!
This was such a good and quick read. The book puts you in the mind of Super Natural mashing up with Lucifer. I must say that the FMC annoyed me. Not because the story wasn't well written but the simple fact that she refused to see through Lucien's bull until the end of the book. Like, STAND UP GIRL 😭 I can not WAIT for book 2. I'm excited to see how the FMC grows.
