DNF. Story starts with Hero waking up with a random OW he picked up from club and states how he gave her multiple orgasms, blah, blah, blah. Scenes like this is not for me and an instant DNF.....
I forgot that I banned this author forever and with good reason too. LOL.
Welp, look at that. The opening of chapter 2 was him waking up next to a woman he picked up from the bar last night. 🤦♀️
Granted, the MCs haven't yet met each other, but come on, even off-page OM/OW scenes shouldn't exist in a freaking story! The author can still show that the MMC is a wh*re without putting OW on page. 🤧
So glad I didn't read this and proceeded to read book 2 first. This would've ruined the impression of the series for me.
This was a low-angst, warm and fuzzy, humorous Fake Fiance romance! I was smiling the whole way through. This will be a great addiction to your contemporary romance shelf.
Julian and Anastasia both need a relationship to give them a leg up for a job. Through an online service they get paired up and agree to live together and propagate this farce. What they don't know until Anastasia moves in with him and she goes to have lunch with his boss, is that said boss is also her FATHER. The same man she's also trying to convince to give her the CEO job.
Now it's all out war and Kingston Limited ain't big enough for the both of them! They begin a battle of underhanded tricks and pranks but all they end up doing if falling for each other in record time. With lots of spice and swoony moments to keep me entertained.
When the chemistry spilling over into some explosive moments, it's clear that teaming up may be the best option but will they trust each other enough to take it to the next level?
I really loved Julian and his determination to do right by the company that brought him up from rags to riches is really admirable. Anastasia may feel a bit estranged from her father since her mother died but she is focused on getting her birthright to the company when her father retires. The only thing standing in each of their ways is the other.
The only detractor was that I don't really understand what was going on with the 3rd act... but I kinda just shrugged my shoulders and plowed onward. I loved the characters that were introduced and I look forward to the next in the series.
4 stars 3.5 on the spice scale
*Thank you to Enticing Journey Book Promotions and the author for an ARC of this title.*
🙂↔️🙂↔️🙂↔️🙂↔️ this was absolutely not Nikki Ash level good.
Not sure what happened here?? Maybe she was rushed?? Maybe she was trying new things. But everything that makes her writing good was missing. None of the characters were likable, the plot wasn’t good. It was just bleh.
4.5 ⭐️ this is my favorite book by this author so far! Rivals to lovers who end up agreeing to a fake engagement, announce it to everyone, and then realize they are actually competing for the same position 😂 it's one of those books that genuinely had me grinning lmao
Drunk on You is the first book in the author's new Love & Whiskey series! As the series title suggests, each book will involve characters working at the family whiskey business.
Anastasia is the estranged daughter of the CEO. When her dad announces his intentions to retire, he's made it clear he wants his replacement to be family-oriented and not make the same mistakes he did when raising his family. Anastasia will stop at nothing to prove she can handle the family business, including getting herself set up as a fake fiancé with a stranger from her hometown. Her competition? Julian, her father's righthand man is also vying for the position and thinks hiring a fake fiancé is the way to go. The problem? These two have no idea that the other is their competition, and sparks fly before the truth is quickly revealed. That is where the fun begins!
Anastasia and Julian were a match for each other, both in business and bed. Anastasia has walls a mile high and shirks intimacy, but Julian chips away as they mix their need to be CEO with their desire to explore a real love match. The pranks they pulled were absolutely hilarious, though. I think when a couple has so much passion and attraction between them, it makes their interactions as enemies/competition steamier because you know there is a thin line between hate and love.
Romance aside, I loved seeing Anastasia repair her relationship with her father. Family scenes are some of my favorites in books and it was nice to see them finally make up for lost time.

Julian and Ana's story was not as exciting as I wanted it to be. I liked the premise and I enjoyed the banter between them but I think the whole entire story and the way things played out really worked for me.
They are both vying for the CEO position but neither of them know each other. She wants the job so she can take over her fathers company while he wants it because he has worked for ages to gain his success and rise high in the company and it's obviously the next step for him.
What they do not expect is the reason that they are not right for the job is because they are unmarried nor have a family..
Side note: Ana's dad was neglectful of his wife and Ana while she was growing and this really made Ana somewhat hate her father and add in the fact Ana's mother died after an argument with her husband. He wants the person to take over and balance his life and family the way he never could as after his wives death and his daughter leaving him behind he met someone and fell in love and now balances that life.
Did I like her dad? Honestly? no. I feel like the damage he caused in Ana's life was a lot and I get he regrets it deeply but to me it seemed like a copout for him to want his daughter to be married and have a family in order for her to get his job? Isn't it better that she doesn't so she never will be neglectful like himself?
Anways...
Julian and Ana fake being engaged and are now in the race for the job.
Pranks and problems arise but they cannot deny their attraction and eventually thigns become for them so obviously the end would be they both get the job (like I predicted in the beginning).
I love (Scottish) whisky, so when I came across this book, I wanted to give it a try. Unfortunately, it's not about whisky at all, except that the characters drink whiskey or other alcohol all the time, even in the office.
There's often a fine line when it comes to books about fake relationships, and you always have to be aware that you might stumble into a nonsensical setting, but this setup is exceptionally lousy.
In order to get the job as CEO of a multi-billion dollar liquor company, two of the candidates – owner’s daughter (!) and the longtime COO of said company – have to show that they are able to care not only about work but also about their private life. They both have the glorious idea of signing up on a Trophy Wife dating site to find a fake partner for a year or so. Obviously, when they match on "Trophy Wives R Us", using fake names, they have no idea that they have the same plan in mind or are competing for the same job. Anastasia moves back to Texas from London and right in with her fake-fiancé, who, conveniently, lives in the same town as her father's liquor company.
I was expecting a lot of banter between these two, but instead, I got insta-lust. One look, one sniff, and they are both swept away. Julian is even talking about love after one day, and only a stupid misunderstanding prevents them from having sex on day 2. On day 3, they meet Anastasia's dad for dinner and find out who they really are and what their intentions are. From there, they play ridiculous kindergarten pranks on each other, and when these pranks get totally out of hand, they suddenly decide to play fair. Thank you very much! After that, the story gets less annoying, but, despite more misunderstandings, wrong conclusions, a sex scandal, etc., not less boring. (Unless you enjoy thousands of similar sex scenes.)
Both main characters were not believable for me and did not touch me in any way. The same goes for their feelings and the development of their relationship. I also didn't feel any chemistry between them. Maybe I just did not get the humor or missed something else, but however, this book was not for me. It's not totally bad, but it's nowhere near good enough. It feels like a waste of time.
This is my first book by 𝐍𝐢𝐤𝐤𝐢 𝐀𝐬𝐡 and I can’t believe I’ve waited this long to read her books! I LOVED this story and I’m so excited to read her next book, 𝑯𝒐𝒐𝒌𝒆𝒅 𝑶𝒏 𝒀𝒐𝒖, along with her backlist!
Anastasia Kingston is a woman he thrives in a cooperate office. She’s been living in London since the death of her mother. When she learns that her father, CEO to Kingston Limited, is stepping down, she moves back in the hope of taking over. Unfortunately, her father wants his replacement to be someone who is family oriented. Anastasia decides to get on a trophy wife website to find a rich man to pretend to be her fiance.
When she meets “Ian” she is instantly attracted to him both physically and emotionally, however she is shocked to find out he lied about his name and just so happens to be her biggest competition for the position! Now they are enemies living under the same roof both trying to deny their chemistry.
I loved the ending! Everything came together really well. All Anastasia ever wanted was her father’s approval and Julian helped her work through those emotions.
I am beyond curious about Julian’s best friend, Ryder, and his “baby mama drama”.
If you love age gap romances with work place rivals that that are SIZZLING with tension, go add 𝐃𝐫𝐮𝐧𝐤 𝐎𝐧 𝐘𝐨𝐮 𝐛𝐲 𝐍𝐢𝐤𝐤𝐢 𝐀𝐬𝐡, to your TBR today! The audiobook was really well done and I highly recommend it!
I loved this one so much. It had such a fun concept! Both main characters are looking for a "fake" engagement/marriage to try and get the same promotion .. but of course both of them don't know that.
The tension, spice, relationships, side characters ... all absolutely amazing.
I really enjoyed the development of the relationship between the FMC and her father. It was very bittersweet.
You get: • Contemporary Romance • Spicy • Marriage Of Convience • Hidden Identity • Forced Proximity • Accidental Pregnancy • My Wife
I highly recommend this one! Available on KU, ebook, paperback, and audiobook.
DRUNK ON YOU was a great start to the LOVE & WHISKEY SERIES, and it contains two of my favorite tropes: Age Gap and Workplace Romance.
Samuel Kingston has decided to retire as CEO of his company and has decided that the person to fill his shoes needs to be family-oriented, which he was not. He doesn't want his mistakes to be repeated. There are two people who want this position so badly that they are willing to fake it until they make it. Julian decides he will hire a fake fiance to play the part, and low and behold, the person he matches with is none other than Anastasia...who has an agenda all of her own.
I don’t know what happened, but I started this story and then BAM, it was done! Feel me? I have not been having the best of luck with my reading/listening experiences this month and this story was a balm to my reading soul! I was lost to the story from the very beginning and all the *real life things* I put aside to just read from beginning to end didn’t even make me twitch. #happysigh
I’m a sucker for a story that makes me feel everything and this story was a huge hit in that department. I was rooting for Julian and Anastasia as if I had a real stake in the outcome! These kinds of “feeling” are so difficult to explain in a review without giving not only play-by-plays of the story but also giving away moments in the story that should be experienced by future readers without a heads-up of any kind. It is just one of those things you have to understand happened to me without me telling you specially why because I won’t LOL *shrug*
This could easily have gone in a direction of overly dramatic and “unnatural” but Nikki didn’t do that and MAN am I glad. The story was entertaining with yes, a few instances where one might forget these two were adults (lol) BUT they easily came back from those instances and did not turn the story into a slap-stick comedy of ridiculousness. Afterall, they were going for the same job so a little hijinks was in order ;) They flowed from *fake* to *not fake* in a realistic and relatable manner. They came together as *one* as adults which means they adulted properly and my heart was singing loud over that one.
This was just an overall great story with a fantastic storyline and secondary characters that grabbed my attention as well and can’t wait to get to their stories! I am also ridiculously stoked to snatch up the audiobook as soon as I can because I know Kelsey Navarro is going to make a perfect Anastasia!!!!
If you're looking for a hot workplace romance book that has extremely well done rivals to lovers and fake engagement tropes...look no further!
Drunk on You follows Anastasia, a workaholic businesswoman who signs up to a service where rich men look for trophy wives in search of a fake boyfriend to introduce to her father. The reason? Her father will be retiring from her position as CEO of the family liquor company soon, but he doesn't think Anastasia wil be a good fit for the role because he's looking for someone with family oriented values. Unfortunately for her, the perfect candidate that she finds is--unknown to her--her biggest competition for the role of CEO, and he's using her for the exact same goal! With everyone knowing about the engagement, all that's left to do is continue to play along...
This book was absolutely perfect. The banter and the tension kept me glued to the pages. I could not get enough of Anastasia and Julian! They were fun, they were hot, and while the attraction burned fast I found their development to be extremely romantic and realistic. Julian was literally one of the most swoonworthy green flags I have ever come across in romance books!
Apart from the romance, I also really appreciated the family aspect of this story. Anastasia's relationship with her father is complicated by history, but it was heartwarming to see her give her dad a second chance.
Thank you to the author for gifting me a copy for review. Opinions are my own.
i loved this so much! nikki knew i needed a new series from her and she DELIVERED and this is just the first book
even though the book was pretty short, anastasia & julian’s progression from fake fiancés to a real couple worked well!! their story was so good, they had great banter and their chemistry was off the charts!!
i love nikki so much!! i can’t wait for the rest of the series <333
Anastasia wants to prove to her father she can take his place as the CEO and finds a fake fiancé to prove she won’t make the same mistakes he made. Her fake fiancé happens to be her father’s COO who also wants the same CEO position. Anastasia and Julian’s chemistry and banter was so good. They want to ruin each other’s reputation and the pranks they pull on each other is hilarious.
Tropes: office romance age gap fake engagement enemies to lovers surprise pregnancy
I love the fake dating trope but the way it was pulled off in this story was beyond good!!😍
Anastasia’s father and CEO of Kingston wants a family-oriented person to take over as his successor when he retires. She will do anything it takes to prove to him that she is ready to be the next CEO, even if it means finding a fake fiancée to pretend she is forming a family.👀
While that, Julian, the hardworking COO that has slowly climbed the company ladder, will also do anything it takes to prove that he is family oriented.. even hiring a trophy-wife. 😱
These two work-rivals that are gunning for the same spot end up on a fake engagement and there is no backing out 😂😂 I FRIGGIN LOVE THIS! Once they find out who they truly are I was smiling from ear to ear 😂 Their chemistry and attraction is undeniable, they can’t resist each other and at the same time keep going at each others throats! Seriously once you start this book I doubt you will be able to put it down!
What you can expect: ✨workplace romance ✨rivals to lovers ✨FAKE ENGAGEMENT ✨delicious banter ✨undeniable chemistry ✨fierce and strong-willed FMC
Thank you to the author for gifting me a copy for review
Drunk on You will is LIVE in ebook (KU), paperback, and in audio—performed by Walker Williams and Kelsey Navarro-Foster!
Anastasia
If I want to prove to my dad that I can take his place as CEO of our family’s liquor company, I need to show him I won’t let work consume my life the way it did his.
He wants me to be a family woman? I can fake it till I make it.
A fake fiancé is the perfect solution, and the man I’ve found is the ideal candidate.
He’s smart and successful, and he’ll look great on paper as well as on my arm …
Until I realize he’s also my stiff competition.
Julian
She’s supposed to be a trophy wife. The missing ingredient I needed to toast my success.
I was hoping the ten million reasons I offered in exchange would be enough to get her to agree. But it turns out, she’s got her own reasons for using me.
From the boardroom to the bedroom, this woman has turned my world upside down.
She might be good at faking it, but her beauty and brains have me falling for real.
I’m just getting started, and I’m already drunk on her.
DRUNK ON YOU has got to be one of my favorite reads of the month AND year. I had so much fun reading it, and it had the perfect balance of banter, emotion and spice. The twist this book has on the fake relationship trope is one of my favorite I’ve encountered so far because the protagonists both sign up to an online website to find a fake fiancé for the same goal—get the CEO position at the Kingston whiskey company, which will be heading in a more family-friendly direction. The catch is that Julian and Anastasia have no idea who the other is, seeing as Anastasia has lived abroad for several years, and only found out they’re competing for the same CEO position only after the plan is in motion.
I loved everything about this book. The banter and spice were just as I like them, and the whole cast of characters was wonderful. Of course my favorite element of the story was the main couple itself, but I appreciated the friendship and familial bonds too—especially Anastasia’s relationship with her dad. Julian and Ana are amazing both as rivals and as lovers. I love how communicative and emotionally mature they are. Yes, things get awkward and a little sneaky when they discover the truth, but when the sabotage goes a little too far they talk about it and apologize. They’re willing to let the best person win, and in the meantime the acknowledge the fact that they like each other, too. Their physical chemistry was perfect!
Thank you to the author for gifting me a copy. Opinions are my own.
Author Nikki Ash pulls me in with every story she writes, and “Drunk on You” is no different—from the plot, the spice, the characters, and the ultimate HEA.
Ana is trying to prove to her father that she can take over as CEO through whatever means necessary, whether that is to show she can be a family woman even though she isn’t dating anyone. Julian needs a “trophy wife” to help with his career.
When Ana and Julian connect through a service, it appears to be a perfect match, but it is a little too perfect, especially when they discover they have more in common than they knew.
Nikki Ash writes the best MMCs. Julian is everything and more. He said all the right things to Ana and had my heart throughout the story. The spice was on point, of course—I expected no less.
“This thing between us was inevitable. The moment I laid eyes on you, I was drunk on you.”
5✨
My heart feels so happy with this one. I know I’ve said it before, but I’ll say it again - Nikki is one of my favourite authors. I love that her work gives me butterflies and that the story always flows and leaves me smiling. This story ✨might✨ be taking top place for favourite Nikki books.
When I read the blurb, I was not expecting the direction of where this book was headed, but it made it that much better. Then with the amazing chemistry building, the relationship growing, and ultimately when the book piques was so so good 🥲
I ADORED this office romance enemies to lovers… literally perfection🤌🏼
This was such a fun book to read! Anastasia finds herself in a tough position. Her estranged father has announced his retirement, but he does not plan to pass down his company to her. In order to show him that she is the right person for the job, she decides to become engaged.
What she does not realize is that the man she was fake engaged to? Her rival for the position: Julian.
Nikki was able to create the perfect blend of spice and swoon with Drunk on You. The banter and the distrust between Julian and Anastasia was fantastic to see morph into feelings and love. Their chemistry was fantastic and I could not get enough. I also loved seeing the little surprises of Julian and Anastasia; how Julian loves to cook for Anastasia, and how Anastasia found her softer side when engaging with Julian's family.
“I never planned for you, Red, but I’m so damn glad I got you.” 🥃💍📄🔥
Drunk On You by Nikki Ash was exactly what I needed for a light-hearted romance!
Anastasia wants the position of CEO once her father retires. But her father is considering his right-hand man for the position. But there’s a caveat: despite owning a whiskey business, Ana’s father wants the company to go in a family friendly route.
So what do Anastasia and Julian do? Unbeknownst to each other, they both sign up for fake fiancé’s online and match up. 😳 When they meet, the sparks are immediately flying, UNTIL they find out they’re competing for the same CEO position! THE RIVALRY IMMEDIATELY STARTS, and the reader is in for a good time! 🙌🏼
Despite the rivalry, Julian knows Anastasia is his endgame, and man, HE FALLS HARD! 😍
This was the book I started while folding laundry, and the ignored the laundry, because I was HOOKED to the story! The chemistry between Anastasia and Julian is palpable, and their rivalry makes everything even hotter! I honestly enjoyed how everything played out.
There’s also a scene that involves a v¡brator that has me 🫦🥵
If you want an entertaining and lighthearted romance book, with a unique spin to the office romance trope, Drunk On You by Nikki Ash is for you!
– age gap – fake fiance – forced proximity – he falls first (and hard) – office romance – rivals to lovers – s3gsy toys – tattooed hero
Nobody does accidental pregnancy & fake engagement quite like Nikki!!! Anastasia & Julian’s story was all my favorite tropes with a fun beginning, like I hadn’t read before. Such an exciting read that I couldn’t put down!!
Julian Parker’s the hot shot, self made businessman who lives and breathes work. He’s looking for a trophy wife so he can appear like a family man in order to become CEO at Kingston Limited. Anastasia’s all work & no play. She’s such a strong and powerful fmc who takes charge and handles business. She’s the bosses daughter looking to return home after years of working abroad & running from the pain of losing her mother. To appease her father, she’s also needing a fake relationship to appear like she’s serious about settling down & starting a family. Little do they know, they’re each other’s biggest competition for the title of CEO. They find each other online under nicknames & having never met, don’t realize they’re both vying for the same position & using one another until after they’ve started falling. They immediately hit it off & the attraction is insane. The bachelor who never considered settling is having thoughts about a future with the woman of his dreams, who he just met.
Realizing they’re mutually beneficial to one another, they come to an agreement to continue the ruse, but not without becoming “enemies” & following through with some intense & also hilarious pranks. Agreeing to not complicate matters & not “be” together was never going to happen. Period!! & when they finally let the sparks fly, there was no turning back. Nikki did an incredible job writing the spicy scenes… like always!!
Their chemistry’s off the charts, tension was palpable & banter was top shelf! I laughed, I had to fan myself multiple times and even cried. Julian & Ana clicked right from the very beginning, insta-attraction was so real. & the plot was so well written and executed. Julian became the protector of her heart and the security she needed to be her true self. He was so intentional with Ana that I immediately fell hard for this man! Ana allowing herself to find happiness & love though very unexpected with Julian, and also repair a relationship with her father, was beautiful to see. And I really mean see, because the way Nikki writes, I feel like I’m able to visualize and see every single detail in her writing.
The epilogue was amazing & I could read about these two forever! Can’t wait for more from the Love & Whiskey series. 🥃
If you love: -fake engagement -forced proximity -workplace romance -strangers to enemies to lovers -“mine” -accidentally pregnancy -found family -age gap
Nikki Ash with another delicious banger!! Oh how I loved every second of Julian and Anastasia’s story! My girl per usual did not disappoint and left me with one heck of a book hangover!
I mean these two were the epitome of enemies to lovers. The one up pranks, the verbal vitriol, the undeniably sizzling chemistry they tried to ignore. Ooh, I ate it up with zest and vigor. Nikki Ash gave me exactly everything I crave in an enemies to lovers romance. I laughed til I cried at their antics and waited with bated breath to see who would do what next. Add in the fake engagement bit and phew these two were a combustion waiting to happen.
Anastasia was a boss chick and refused to let anyone stand in the way of her goals. She had grit, fire and determination galore and was not afraid to speak her mind. She also had a softer side she kept hidden but Julian was determined to break down her walls and win her heart.
Oh sweet, swoony, possessive Julian. He fell first and fell like he never expected for his new fake fiancée. Once again, Nikki has perfection that alpha cinnamon roll who’ll whisper sweet nothings then turn around and give you a hand necklace while he tells you all the filthy things he plans to do to you. An absolute goner I was.
She also hit me with the emotions which I’ve come to expect and love from her. The only thing better than enemies to lovers is watching those enemies give in to those feelings leaving the pages singed from their heat.
This age gap, enemies to lovers, fake engagement, office romance left me wanting for nothing except more of Anastasia and Julian! Nikki started this series off just right and I cannot waaaait for what is to come from the Love and Whiskey world!
OMG, another amazing read by Nikki Ash. This book drew me in since reading the first pages. Absolutely enjoyed reading this book, front to back. Love Julian and Anastasia’s romance story. Anastasia and her father have a strain relationship, mostly because she blames her father for her mother’s death. Anastasia’s father owns a multimillion dollar company. Julian is the COO of Anastasia’s father’s company and when he learns that her father is stepping down from CEO, he knows than he wants to be the next CEO. Anastasia ends up learning about her father stepping down from CEO in the newspaper. She is hurt to learn about in the newspaper and that her father did not ask her to become the CEO. Her father made a stipulation in the requirements to become the next CEO. Anastasia’s father wants the next CEO to be a family person. This does not help Anastasia or Julian since neither one is in a serious relationship and neither one wants to be. Both of them decide to hire someone to be 8n a fake relationship with to get the CEO position. Unbeknownst to them, is that they hired each other to be in a fake relationship with. They find out that each other gave fake names and that they are each other’s biggest competition to becoming the next CEO. Their relationship started out physical and as they compete against each other for the CEO position, there are harmless pranks on each other to try to sabotage the other person. Love how these two end up together. Worth the read.
Tropes • fake engagement • forced proximity • age gap • rivals to lovers • workplace romance • he falls first

Review
Nikki Ash is such a dependable author for me, I always know going into one of her books I’m gonna have a good time and this one was no different!
The trajectory of Julian & Ana’s relationship was such a fun rollercoaster ride. Strangers turned fake fiancés turned rivals turned lovers. Every iteration of their relationship was filled with heat, passion and hilarious banter. I loved seeing these two strong individuals slowly realise they had genuine feelings for each other. Julian was the absolute sweetest and I adored how he understood Ana on such a deep level and let her come to terms with their relationship at her own pace. They were just such a sweet couple and I loved the happily ever after they found together.
If the next book is about who I think it’s about, I’m beyond excited! He was such a great side character and I cannot wait to see more from him and the situation he’s found himself in. This book was such a great introduction to the series and September can’t get here soon enough 😍
Thank you Nikki for an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review ✨
I’m so obsessed with Anastasia and Julian, I couldn’t scream!!! 😍😭 I love love love this take on fake engagement, typically big hot shot man needs a girl to sport around but ANASTASIA also needs a man to sport around, so mutually beneficial - they use each other to prove they are “family” oriented to get a promotion of CEO. Little do they know, they’re both going for the SAME promotion 🤭😅 I really loved how easily they clicked with each other (before they got the news they’d be competing against one another) - the ease of their relationship even though it was meant to be fake, felt so real.
The added drama of them going for the same CEO position made this so fun and entertaining. They go from being almost love at first sight (I’d say) to little rivals living with each other. Their little pranks, and the banter the volley to each other - so funny. So good. I could not put this down, I loved every minute of it!! The spice, the plot, the tension, the characters. So so good!! 🤩🤩
What to expect: 💍 Fake Engagement 🥃 Office Romance (competing for the same position) 🚪 Forced Proximity ❤️🔥 Enemies to Lovers ✒️ Age Gap 🤰🏻 Surprise Pregnancy 🥵 Spice
I loved this book so much! This is my first Nikki Ash book and definitely will not be my last.
🧡Workplace romance 🧡Enemies to lovers 🧡Fake relationship
When Anastasia’s estranged father decides to retire from the family business, she wants a shot at becoming CEO. But the problem is - her father only wants someone who is in a steady relationship who is family oriented to run the company.
So off she goes to finding a fake fiancé to succeed in taking over the business. What she doesn’t realize is that her fiancé is her sole competition in the race to becoming CEO.
These two were hilarious together, but in the best way. I loved their instant attraction to one another that quickly turned into so much more. The competition between them and all of their antics just proved how much they cared for each other.
There are some great side characters and I cannot wait for their stories to be told!
💭Julian is looking for a trophy wife so he can be considered as the new CEO of the whiskey company he’d work for. Ana is looking for a husband, so her father would consider her as his replacement for his company. They found each other and agreed to be fake married, totally unaware they're actually competing for the same company!
They started off as strangers who gave each other nicknames, which is probably why they didn't realize who the other person really was. The attraction between them was instant. But just as they start falling for each other, the truth comes out, flipping their relationship on its head and turning them into rivals. I absolutely loved their enemies-to-lovers banter at work, their chemistry was off the charts and led to some seriously steamy moments.
Julian pretty much falls head over heels for Ana right away, and that's one of the things I adore about him. He doesn't hold back his feelings, he wants her and constantly reassures her that they're perfect together. My heart broke for Ana, I shed a few tears over what she went through with her parents. It was so heartbreaking, and honestly, I kind of wanted her dad to do the groveling instead of making her work to become CEO. But once you learn more about their backstory, you get where he's coming from.
🔥I wasn't sure what to expect on the spice level, but oh my gosh, it was hot! They're both super into 🍑play, so the smuts were extra spicy🥵
✨This was my first Nikki Ash book after having her on my TBR list for the longest time, and it was an absolute hit! Totally my cup of tea, loved it. Consider me a new fan! I'm definitely diving into all her other books.
