USA Today Bestselling Author Jodi Linton pens funny, romantic, whodunnits. She is the author of the Southwest Exposure Mysteries and various romances. To keep up with her new releases and sales follow her at any of the sites below.
Well, this ain't your mama's western romance that's for sure! This story is a standalone novella that continues the relationship of Gunner and Laney which began in the previous novel Pretty Reckless. You don't have to read the first one to dive into this one, but it does a great job of introducing the background and the relationship between the main characters and others in the town of Pistol Rock.
Laney is a quirky, feisty character, who takes her job as deputy sheriff seriously. I love her reactions to situations, her internal monologues and her overall willingness to dive into any situation and make the best of it. She loves Gunner but won't put up with shit from him and she makes me smile and laugh out loud at her antics. Gunner is an equally engaging character, devilishly handsome, hardworking, and smitten with Laney. The sex scenes between them were smoking hot in this story, I swear my e-reader almost caught fire!
There are several action scenes and an intriguing suspenseful (and hilarious) plot that moves the story along at a brisk pace. Combine this with the steamy love scenes and you have a book that will entertain you from start to finish. 4.5 Yeehaw stars!
This is the first book in the Deputy Laney Briggs series by Jodi Linton that I have read. I enjoyed getting to know this loud crazy cowgirl. Laney a deputy sheriff in a small town in Texas just doesn't solve cases she gets smack in the middle, red boots deep all in!! Add in a sexy as hell Texas Ranger boyfriend a bit over protective and a federal marshal who has a secret involvement in the case makes for some sizzling moments throughout this book. Cross dressing football coach, the marshal' s ex wife and a little Texas bunny ranch (not the furry cute kind) all come together to make this a great read!
I love to hate Novellas...mostly because the story is so good I hate that it's so short and this is definitely the case! This book is a great read AND it really can be read as a stand alone. Though I reccommend reading Pretty Reckless so that you can get the back story on some of the characters plus its a great book too!
Gunner took a position in Odessa at the Ranger Office, he and Laney have been giving their relationship another go. "Gunner had many traits. He could be relaxing to be around. He could be bullheaded. He could be demanding. But most of all, he was my addiction." I adored watching their interactions and trust in each other grow. You always felt the love that was between them, but love alone isn't enough. Enter Floyd and Ruth - the dysfunctional couple who raised our lovely Laney. Gunner doesn't shy away from his cocky demeanor in front of the parentals. In fact, he and Floyd are drinking buddies. Ruth, on the other hand, isn't a fan of the Ranger who is occupying her daughter's bed.
A case of a missing woman, a football coach in ladies lingerie and a mysteriously good-looking U.S. Marshal who goes by the name of Colt Larsen is what we are in for in this novella. "He lounged indolently against the doorway, and when his eyes locking in on mine, he tipped his Stetson up and sent me a killer smile. In response, I flicked him the middle finger and hit the gas, blowing down FM 167. On any other given day, that level of trash talking would've made my day. Hell, there were nights when Gunner and I considered it foreplay." I will tell ya, Colt needs his own story. He has his own issues, which will all be revealed in due time, but he is one hell of a cowboy! He loves hard, and his heart is big. Colt and Laney's friendship isn't strong, but something there leaves her helping him. I think that decision showed a lot of her character, as well as his. Add my Gunner into the mix, and you see the level of commitment that black hat wearing cowboy has for his girl. "If you ever put my girl in the kind of danger she was in yesterday because your panties were in a wad, the next thing you'll see is my fist rearranging your pretty face."
Ladies, don't fret - you have your share of Luke Wagner in this novella. He comes to Laney's rescue and maintains his sweet, Southern charm. You see a protective side of him with a humorous interaction between him and Colt that would have Gunner proud to have Luke in Laney's life. (Neither would admit it!) With snark like this: "The day I'm a princess is the day you take a girl on a second date," I fired back, smiling. - I see Luke as nothing more than a brotherly figure. I said it before, and I will say it again - I cannot wait for the woman who walks into that cowboy's life and tames him! That will be a wild ride.
Lately, romance has been my genre of choice. This genre allows for an escape that offers bumps in the road, but you almost always get your HEA. Jodi Linton is in a group all by herself. The way she writes suspense intertwined with romance - is pure talent. One doesn't trump the other and it all flows effortlessly. Jodi's style of romance is so different from most. It is not rose petals, watermelon candles and slow songs. You get foreplay in the form of trash talk, experimenting with things she has only read about and a couple of tall cold ones. When Gunner whispers sweet nothings into his gal's ear, it is more like "It never gets old seeing my name inked on your ass."
Before I let y'all wonderful folks go to read Pretty Reckless if you haven't, and wait for this novella to come out on AUGUST 18th - I will leave you with a term that made me giggle. Occasionally, I will find a word of phrase that sticks with me from a book, and the one in this book was: "pussy paralyzed" - LOVE THAT term, and you can only imagine what it is in reference to.
"Whatcha Gonna Do With a Cowboy: A Deputy Laney Briggs Novella" by Jodi Linton continues the story of Deputy Laney Briggs, a woman who can go toe to toe with dangerous criminals, a sexy Federal Marshall, and her own steamy Texas Ranger. This novella contains all the fun and humor of "Pretty Reckless," but the heat level increases from smokin' hot to OMFG hot!
I was so excited to read an ARC of this book after reading the first book in the series, Pretty Reckless. Laney Briggs is a multi-dimensional character who draws the reader into the story with her sarcastic wit, her blunt honesty, and her deep love for her small Texas town. Even in this novella, Jodi Linton managed to brush a complete picture of each secondary character in the story, from the colorful inhabitants of the town to the sexy U.S. Marshal Lanie works with on the case. One of my favorite scenes is the one with Lanie's parents! No one is quite innocent in this series, including Lanie, which makes me root for her all the more.
In this book, her relationship with Gunner Wilson crosses into the scorching hot territory of sex scenes. The sex was erotic, dirty, and real, and I loved that the couple is exploring their sexual boundaries as they become closer as a couple. Gunner is alpha and protective, but he still lets Lanie be Lanie.
You can read this as a stand-alone, but you'll obviously get more out of it if you've read Pretty Reckless. I'm really looking forward to future books in this series and learning more about Luke (who I still love even though he's not a good guy) and Lanie's cousin who definitely has a story to tell.
This series has mystery, suspense, romance, and humor. Do not miss it! Available August 18, 2014!
In WHATCHA GONNA DO WITH A COWBOY, we see the return of Deputy Laney and her hunky cowboy lawman, Gunner Wilson. Laney and Gunner are still navigating their tenuous relationship when Laney stumbles upon another mystery that will shake the foundations of Pistol Rock, Texas. The book marks the return of Deputy Elroy, Luke Wagner and Laney's outlandish parents as well as introduces us to a new cowboy hunk, Federal Marshall Colt Larsen, who's hot on the trail of a fugitive and Laney.
The entire package adds up to be a wild and fun ride that's completely entertaining. Jodi Linton writes the novella in first person from Laney's wise cracking, sarcastic point-of-view which just adds to the fun. She gets to write what we all want to be.
So if you're looking for a way to fill a lazy summer afternoon or a cold winter evening, WHATCHA GONNA DO WITH A COWBOY is the perfect way to fill it.
Boy Laney can sure run with the big dogs! She's one tough chick who can handle Gunner in more ways than one. Can't wait for the next book to come out. Thanks Jodi for another great read.
When I read the first book in the Laney Briggs series I was immediately hooked to the country sheriff and her sexy cowboy man. Soon after finishing ‘Pretty Reckless’ I joined the Facebook Street Team, the Pink Pistol Readers and I got super excited for the next book in this great series by Jodi Linton. When I received the ARC of ‘Whatcha Gonna Do With a Cowboy’ I was just sooo excited. And when I finally was able to start reading it I closed myself of from the outside world and put my do-not-disturb face on.
In ‘Whatcha Gonna Do With a Cowboy’ we follow Laney Briggs again in her work as a deputy sheriff in a small Texas town. When Laney finds the local schools Coach drunk and wearing woman’s lingerie, she immediately knows something weird is going on. When a handsome Federal Marshal called Colt Larsen appears out of nowhere, Laney’s suspicions turn out true. Soon Laney is busy with a new case, but all she really wants to do is spend time with her own sexy cowboy Gunner. But since Gunner is busy with his own job, they don’t get to spend much time together. But the times they do spend together are smoking hot and full of passion.
Well, where should I start... Just like ‘Pretty Reckless’ this book is amazing, fun, sexy and full of action (and not only the sheriff kind of action). I really loved reading about Laney and the way she does her job. This series is just the perfect blend between romance and detective/mystery and I love it all the way. Laney doesn’t listen to what other people tell her and especially when people tell her how to do her job she isn’t afraid to speak her mind.
And well Gunner… There can never be enough Gunner in a book. I love the sexy cowboy. And I love the relationship between Laney and Gunner. They are just so passionate and they are clearly crazy about each other.
The one downfall about this book.. It was way too short! I couldn’t believe how fast I finished reading it. This book should be a thousand pages big. There should be many tiny letters so that there would be much more to read on a page. Boy… I just love this series. Jodi Linton, you did another exceptional good job if you ask me.
So if you’re a Laney Briggs virgin (I can’t imagine) I would advise you to get ‘Pretty Reckless’ right now. And if you read the first book.. ‘Whatcha Gonna Do With a Cowboy’ is coming out August 18th. Get ready ;)
Whew!! I had to take a breather before I prepared my review. First, this novella is steaming hot. Let me give an example.
If you've read the first Laney Briggs novel, then you will know this one is action packed with mystery, mayhem, and intrigue, but still chock full of hilarious moments and sexy cowboys. If you haven't read the first in the series, don't worry, this novella is a stand alone and you won't miss a beat.
Welcome to the small Texas town of Pistol Rock. Take a wild ride with the local denizens and have a blast getting to see these colorful characters in action . . . and hot, hot cowboys. Did I mention cowboys in action? ;)
Whatcha gonna Do With A Cowboy (A Deputy Laney Briggs Novella) by Jodi Linton. Let me tell you Laney and Gunnar are smoking together. If you love cowboys and lots I mean lost of hot passionate sex this is a definite must have. Laney the local deputy discovers the football coach laid out under the bleachers at the local high school and heads off to investigate. while searching his house she comes in contact with Federal Marshall Colt Larson and boy is he a real looker. Colt is also trying to crack this case and fins his ex even if it costs his job. Laney decides to get her hunk of man Texas Ranger Gunnar Wilson to help out on this case. This book is exciting, sexy and steamy. It will keep you turning the pages faster than a Texas twister. A real must have. Although I have not read Pretty Reckless I was still able to understand the characters and the story.
Author Jodi Linton’s unique voice and writing style is quite impressive. I read and loved her debut, Pretty Reckless, and folks, this one doesn’t disappoint!
Sassy heroine Laney Briggs is at it again, fighting crime while trying to manage her somewhat long-distance relationship to cowboy extraordinaire Gunner Wilson. In comes hot federal marshal, Colt, to stir things up.
Whatcha Gonna do With a Cowboy is an action-packed, fun-filled read. With compelling characters and steamy sex scenes, this is a ride you don’t want to miss!
Another great story with Deputy Laney Briggs! When Laney finds the high school football coach passed out drunk and wearing women's lingerie, she realizes something strange is going on. She is quickly pulled into trying to solve a case involving a missing woman and a US Marshal she is partnered with who knows more than he is saying. Laney recruits her boyfriend, Texas Ranger Gunner Wilson, to help solve this case. Things really heat up between Laney and Gunner, and I mean HOT. I really enjoyed this story, and I look forward to more in this series!
This is my first Jodi Linton and I had a absolute ball reading it. Irreverent, possibly insane and armed with both a gun and a libido that have minds practically of their own, Laney Briggs can be fall down funny at times. The story rolls like a bite of a Stefanie Plum novel--complete with sexy heroes, embarrassing family members, bad behavior and curious mysteries--but with Linton's signature humor and deliciously Texan turn of phrase. If you're looking for colorful, fun, naughty and wicked, I'd say Laney Briggs is your deputy.
A laugh out loud type of book with a great dose a sexy cowboy heat! This author has a sense of humor that rivals any comedian with the craziest cast of characters. The best is her extremely hot Texas Ranger Gunner. The fantasies his character inspires is panty melting. Laney Briggs is a deputy with the ability to find trouble and a smart mouth. Gunner is her sexy boyfriend. These are shorter books that are sure to win you over and having you impatient for the next one.
This is my second Jodi Linton novel and it's actually the follow-up novel to the first one I read. Let's just get all of the facts out of the way before I start in on the nitty-gritty. It's really well written. Which shouldn't surprise me since the first novel in this series was as well. There weren't any fluff paragraphs, everything written on these pages pertains to the story. I didn't find myself skimming or skipping because of the quick pace of the storyline. It wasn't so quick that you are left wanting more, Linton does a great job of making everything relevant to her novel.
Let's see ... the last Linton novel that I read, I had a hard time keeping up with the copious amounts of characters but this time, I didn't. That could be because I remembered most of them from the previous novel or it could just be because there aren't as many characters this time. I don't really know which but I didn't feel overwhelmed like I did last time, so I thought it was worth mentioning.
Now onto the good stuff ... okay, where to start ... I'm beginning to understand that no matter what I read from this author, I'll be entertained. Everything is either funny or gripping or steamy in this book. You really don't have time to sit back and relax because you have to bob and weave with the quick jabs of plot twists or Laney (the main character) antics. That's one of the amazing things about this series - it keeps you on your toes. Just when you think the main character has exhausted her repertoire of witty quips, she's tossing another one at some unsuspecting victim and it's like you're off to the races again!
This time, I was a bit surprised with the ending, I know that last time I was able to pick out the bad guy from pretty much the very beginning but this time, it took me a while longer. It was nice - especially since I was guiltily expecting it to be easy again. But that's it! Cute little novella to add to the Laney Briggs saga and if you haven't read the first novel, I think that's okay! Go ahead and try this out (on August 18th, when it's released) and see what you think. When you get a dozen pages in, you'll be ready to crack open the first in the series!
Hot dang! This is fun! A fabulous, fantastic, terrific, not-to-be-missed-at-any-cost read!
Laney Briggs, Deputy Sheriff of the small town of Pistol Rock, Texas, is having a beer on a Friday evening when she gets a call from her partner, dim-witted Elroy Sampson. He tells her to go to the football stadium ASAP. Their High School football coach is passed out, drunk, and wearing woman’s lingerie. Coach Rip Granger is also holding a most compromising picture of himself and a few ladies from Bristol Mills, the local whorehouse; he’s arrested, of course.
Laney then goes to Granger’s house to talk to his wife, but she’s disappeared. Laney almost shoots an intruder, handsome Federal Marshal Colt Larsen, from Tarpon Pass. He’s also looking for a Kate; there’s one tiny problem: there are no Kates in Pistol Rock. After some investigating, it turns out that Kate and Missy Granger, Rip’s wife, are one and the same! And it seems Colt might know a lot more about Missy/Kate than he first let on.
Laney’s boyfriend, Gunner Wilson, who was out on a cold case, comes back just in time; she’s been missing him and Marshal Larsen is charming, sexy and hot! But then, work calls, again, and Laney partners with Colt to find the missing Missy/Kate, who is mixed up with some very bad people!
From page one, I had a smile on my face; I knew I was going to enjoy the ride. Tremendously in fact! The characters are large, colourful, but not over-the-top; just enough to be wildly entertaining. I loved them all: the good, the bad, and the clueless. The chemistry between Laney and Gunner is off the charts, the story is fast-paced, and the plot solid. It’s extremely well-written, always according to small town Texas, the banter between the characters is exceptionally funny and spot-on, and you can hear that twang as you read. Heehaw!
This book was gifted to me by the publisher, and if I had paid for it, not a word of this review would change.
This is the second book in the Laney Briggs Series, and it is just as good if not better then the first! It can be read as a standalone; however, I suggest you read them both so you can get to know the characters. Deputy Laney Biggs is sassy and doesn’t back down from an argument, my kind of woman. She gets called out to the stadium and finds the local high school football coach passed out drunk wearing women’s lingerie. She takes the coach to the drunk tank for him sober up. She heads to his house to talk to his wife, only to find out that she is missing and there is a smoking hot Federal Marshal Colt looking for the wife as well. Colt and Laney start working together to find the coach’s wife. This book has it all, humor, romance, and suspense! I can’t wait to read the next book in this series and see what kind of trouble Laney ends up getting into next!
A Review copy was provided to me in exchange for a fair and honest review. The free book held no determination on my personal review.
Holy rodeo!Whatcha Gonna Do With a Cowboy: A Deputy Laney Briggs Novella is hotter than a two dollar pistol...from the high school football coach decked out in Victoria's Secret apparel, to the other hot Federal Marshall that gets Laney's womanly parts tingling to her very own, who-would-a-known-it butt-slapping Gunner, who really needs to stay home more often and keep his deputy woman company. This novella cranks up the sexy and still gives you plenty of laugh-out-loud moments like the debut novel Pretty Reckless. I'm not a great fan of the novella, but this one is a quick read and well worth it...like an unexpected caramel center in an otherwise so-so box of chocolates.
I received this book as an ARC from the author, for an honest review.
Laney Briggs is back with her sexy cowboy and they're naughtier than ever, "I pinched his butt cheek and felt one big tent pole into my stomach. "I don't remember asking you for a backseat quickie." His voice wickedly smooth." Panties may be needed and I'm not talking about just for the naughty scenes but for reading about Gunner in general, "there's a reason you keep coming back for more." He tugged on my neck, closing the gap between our mouths. "Maybe it's time for a reminder." I loved seeing Laney and Gunner again those two are characters that you can't help but love and they sure aren't forgettable people.
I really enjoyed this book! It was my first time with spunky Detective Laney Briggs. She is witty and can hold her own in a fight. The local coach is found passed out in the football field in women's lingerie. His house is broken into, wife is missing, oh and did I mention the sexy US Marshal Colt Larsen that Laney shoots at in the coach's house? And all that is the first couple of chapters! Things aren't as they seem. Secrets arise, Laney's sexy cowboy Gunner is back, and there are all kinds of twists! If I get all of this from a novella, cannot wait to read her full length books. I am currently looking to the book before this one. Bottom line, this is an enjoyable must read!
Laney's back! Another insanely fun and extremely hot read from Jodi Linton! I couldn't put it down! This one was even hotter than the first! Laney is her usual snarky hilarious self! I had to know what she was going to do next! She never fails to make me laugh out loud at her antics and comebacks. My only complaint is that it was too short! I want more Gunner! I can't wait to read more in this series.
Jodi Linton delivered a hot action packed novella with Whatcha Gonna Do with a Cowboy that has the perfect amount of romance with Laney's hunky cowboy, Gunner. This novella's the perfect taste of Ms. Linton's writing that will invite new readers, and satisfy those of us who fell in love with Laney in Pretty Reckless until the author delivers her next full-length Laney adventure. I can't wait for the next book!
Jodi Linton does it again and steps it up a notch. Laney and Gunnar are back and things are heating up in Pistol Rock. Whatcha Gonna Do With a Cowboy is a delightful romp in a quirky small town with wonderful characters and a terrific mystery. Good looking cowboys and sassy women this is a great escape. A gifted copy was provided by author/publisher for an honest review
I received this book as an ARC from the author, for an honest review.
This is the second book of Laney Briggs’ life. I enjoyed this book as much as the first.
This book is a novella, which ends way too fast for me (yes, I’m being the whinny child who wants MORE!). The book starts out with Laney wanting to drown her long day and longer nights with some beer at Rusty’s, a local bar. Which ends with a text, as the saying goes, “Their ain’t no rest for the wicked”. Laney Brigg’s is a Deputy Sheriff for the small town of Pistol Rock. She’s got a lot of sass and a hot as the Texas sun boyfriend.
The football coach, Rip Granger, seems to have gotten himself into some deep shit. Found passed out under the bleachers, on the football field, in nothing but his wife’s sexy lingerie. With incriminating pictures, a missing wife and a new cowboy in town, Laney has her hands full. With Colt Larsen, U.S. Marshal as Laney’s new temporary partner, she needs to find the missing Mrs. Granger.
Gunner Wilson, her sexy Texas Ranger boyfriend is on a mission that has more meaning to him then he wants everyone to know, to find his parents murderers. So when he hears that Colt is working in town with his girl, well let’s just says he’s more jealous then he wants Laney to know. He goes above protocol to help Laney solve this case.
This book was hotter than the first, Pretty Reckless, though it could be read as a standalone; I’d suggest reading Pretty Reckless to get the back ground of Gunner and Laney. Pretty damn entertaining! The love and trust is still a work in progress. A progress they both are enjoying. I give this book a 4.9, only because I'm greedy and wanted more!
THAT was cowboy fun at it's best! This story has mystery, suspense, romance, and humor LOL you do NOT wanna miss out on this. I wish it was longer :( I missed out on reading the first in this series, but I don't see that it took away from this book at all. I will however be going back and reading it for the pure enjoyment of it! This cowgirl is kick-ass and her relationship with Gunner his SCORCHING HOT! The story is well told and kept me engaged in one sitting. I really didn't want it to end! I can't wait to read more of Jodi Linton in the future!

Whatcha Gonna Do With a Cowboy is a Deputy Laney Briggs Novella that's a sizzling hot romance with mystery, action packed drama, and humor. The small town charm has many unique characters, but Deputy Laney Briggs does face danger. The author, Jodi Linton, has given us a thrilling adventurous novella. It will have you sitting on the edge of your seat and reading until you're finished. Then, you'll kick back in your red boots and say "What a fantastic book"!
I received a complimentary copy from the author in exchange for my honest review. This review is one hundred percent my opinion.
What a great Laney Briggs novella! I love that there were glimpses of Laney and Gunner's relationship after the first novel ended. There was also the same brand of suspense from the first novel. I loved the introduction of Marshal Colt Larsen. I look forward to hearing more from him in the future!
Deputy Laney Brigss has a good life, she brings in the bad guys, has a few beers every now and then, and at night she goes to bed dreaming about her sexier than any cowboy is legally allowed to be boyfriend, Texas ranger Gunner Wilson.
Gunner is off fighting the bad guys just like her, only he has a little more invested in his current case then he wishes to admit. Laney doesn't focus on it too much on it but instead keeps busy in order to be able to fall dead fast asleep at night and not lie awake trying to overcome the desperate sexual craving she has for Gunner who of course is no where near her when she needs him to satisfy her needs.
A great job, a hotter than the Texas sun boyfriend in her bed every now and then ain't too shabby. It's not the perfect life but it's all she's got and that's okay for now.
Then life get's a heck of a lot more interesting when Laney discovers the local high school football coach passed out under the stadium bleachers wearing nothing but a pretty smile and his wife's very sexy lingerie!
At first Laney figures this is nothing more than a drunk, oversexed couple who's fantasies got a little out of hand, but then there's the picture he's holding, not the mention his wife being missing from their home. Laney does what she does best, well outside the bedroom anyways and goes on a hunt to solve the mystery.
Faster than a bullet can rip through flesh she ends up knee deep in a mystery involving a kidnapping, a drug cartel, death threats and a ruthless motor cycle gang. Realizing she's in over her head she calls in the big guns, yep you guessed it, her very own hero, Mr Hotter than Hot Texas Ranger Gunner Wilson, after all the man is her boyfriend so of course he should come save her butt! But getting out alive might not be that easy this time, with or without Gunner by her side.
This was my first time reading this author, and I will say I quite enjoyed her style. The long distance relationship between Laney and Gunner was kind of fun and interesting to read , as I am mostly use to the 'it happens right here and right now' kind of relationships, so it was interesting to read about a couple trying to make something work with distance involved, it made it very realistic, as a lot of couples today have to face the very same challenge.
I loved the heat between Gunner and Laney, it was explosive no matter how long they end up being apart, it was also a lot of fun to read about them when they are together. None of the awkward stuff usually in romance reads( not that those don't make for fantastic reading) was present, the relationship is already there, the angst and do we sleep together of don't we and do I really know you things were all over and done with and it was easy to slip into their lives, really fun, fresh and new!
Both the character of Laney and Gunner were well written and both unique separately as they are together. Gunner is a deeply emotional hero, even though he comes off as a little too rough, which I totally adored. It made him this you want me to protect you hero but you actually want the softer side of me too but you ain't getting it kind of hero, very unique and not something I can really say I have come across before.
Laney is just a woman, but tries darn hard to be tougher than any of the men out there, but it just made her more awesome to read about. I found myself rooting for her all the way when she ends up in situations no woman is meant to be, it was like " Yeah girl , you show 'em what you're made off!"
This was a truly kick-ass, action packed, sizzling hot romance read from start to finish with a lot of unique touches from the author. I am taking away a message of life can go from boring to super action packed really fast and that's what makes life an adventure just make sure you all the facts straight before you go shooting up a storm and most importantly make sure you get out alive !
I picked up that this is a series about the adventures of Laney and of course the yummy Gunner so am sure we are in for lots more action from these two, but the book can also be read as a standalone, if you don't mind the this is where it ends for now ending. If you prefer the this is it as in forever reads then this is not for you.
I recommend this read for all fans of super fast, action packed , hotter than hot romance reads that moves at blinding speed and is perfect for a quick escape to a world of guns blazing, boots stomping, stetson wearing, jean hugging , passionate nights and mystery filled action!
4.5 star review " Trouble just rolled into town and it ain't leaving without a fight"
**Complimentary copy received in exchange for a honest review
This book's cover jumped out at me with it playful title & hilarious pic that I had to have it. Laney Briggs is a truly kooky deputy with her past always slapping her in the face. Her ex, Gunner, is always popping into her tipsy turvy life. The fact that he is a sexy Texas Ranger is just icing on the cake. The town of Pistol Rock, Texas seems to be a hottest resort for madness mayhem & Laney is always up to her eyebrows with mysterious happenings. I love an author who writes with humor & Ms. Linton didn't disappoint me with her quirky cast of characters that make up this crazy town. I only wish that it was not written in first person because it is a style that confuses me & my book COSMOS. I love to completely submerge myself into a story, but I can't be an observer while being the "I" & "ME" in the story. I would read any other story that Ms. Linton wrote that wasn't first person because she writes with hilariousness & show her love for her many characters by weaving each ones individual story. I don't feel it would be favor to give this book a low score because of writing style because an author once told me that all her characters demand their own voice. I highly recommend this story to all readers who love a tale of crazy happenings, with great characters that pop off the pages or Kindle, have a sexy Texas Ranger & enjoys the writing style of first person!
