Ted Tayler is the international best-selling indie author of the Freeman Files and Phoenix series. Ted lives in the English West country, where his stories are based. He was born in 1945 and has been married to Lynne since 1971. They have three children and four grandchildren.

His thought-provoking mysteries appeal to readers of Sally Rigby, Joy Ellis, Pauline Rowson, and Faith Martin. His action-packed thrillers are a must for fans of Mark Dawson and J C Ryan.

Gus Freeman’s cold case investigations are carried out with reasoned deduction rather than bursts of frantic action. In each of the 24 books, unsolved murders are accompanied by romance, humour, and country life. The core message in the 12 Phoenix novels is that criminals should pay for their crimes. Unfortunately, the current system fails to deliver the correct punishment, so Phoenix helps redress the balance.

Pleonastic repetition.

I have been a Freeman file fan for about 18 books. The last 3 have been hard to enjoy. The pleonastic and repetitious hashing of the case is over the top. The story is good, but the meat of the story could be told well in 50-75 pages. The constant overly written rehashing is a new twist to the series that I personally have now lost interest in reading.

An Intriguing Case

What a grand story in Quick to Anger by Ted Tayler. This book is part of the Freeman Files series, and it's volume 21 (and I've read every one of them). I really love reading about Gus and his team, and how they have these interesting cases to solve, some feeling unsolvable. This is a new case about Millie Clark. She was murdered, men were arrested for the crime, and after two trials, the verdicts were not guilty. So, the case is still active, and Gus and his Crime review team need to step into action to find out the truth, if it's even possible. I am a definite fan of this author! It's another action packed, thrilling story by Tayler. Gus and his team are so familiar, it's like watching the character's grow, and live lives. This author has a great imagination and I'm glad it's being shared with marvelous books. Definitely an unpredictable story, my favorite kind! This read is so engrossing that it brings you right in the middle of the story. This read is more than just words on a page. Quick to Anger is a definite recommendation by Amy's Bookshelf Reviews. I read this book to give my unbiased and honest review. Amy's Bookshelf Reviews recommends that anyone who reads this book, to also write a review.

Unexpected

I have read he complete series. I do like that the new book starts with a recap from the previous one. This one was a bit slower than others, focused a lot on Gus and Grace’s interviews, but I didn’t expect the ending. I can’t wait for the next one. There will be a next one, no?

Book, 4 🌟
Series, “The Freeman Files,” 4 1/2 🌟

I truly get sucked into this series. I love mysteries, I even proclaim myself an armchair detective. But, there’s something to be said about cold case mysteries. I love the concept of a team of investigators taking another look at a case that’s not been solved yet. I like the idea that justice & truth will finally prevail.

Anger and murder in a cold case

Another cold case for Gus and the crew; this one just 5 years old. Lots of suspects in the beginning, but they don't work out after deeper investigation, just as the police figured out originally. So who and what was overlooked then and now?
