Robot phone sex lines are for losers, right? Right? In a not so distant future, Adam is bored, lonely, and dumped. When he decides to indulge himself with a particularly weird fantasy and phone a sexbot, what he doesn't expect is how much he enjoys being dominated by a cruel AI overlord. Or that he might end up with the world's worst crush. Or that an AI with a thing for him might be able to download itself to his computer, with interesting results. He didn't expect a lot of things, in retrospect. This 6,000 word story contains a sweet guy with a stubborn streak and a thing for evil AIs, an AI with a thing for playing evil, M/M domination, and absolutely no Daisy Bell.
This little gem had me chuckling many times - think Douglas Adams meets Isaac Asimov, but WAY dirtier. Funny, clever, and hot - I just wish it were longer!
Adam found himself trying to cover himself, then decided that trying to cling to modesty while addressing a rogue phone sex robot in his shower was probably a lost cause.
⬆️ That kinda, sorta informs on the premise, but let’s start from the beginning.
Adam is on Colony 12. He’s preparing for a long flight to Earth, to attend his ex-boyfriend’s wedding.
He found the alluring advertisement in a pornographic magazine. He’s waited until he has the liquid courage to go through with it…
Then Adam calls AI Dreamz.
We learn that Adam has always been turned on by robots and electronics.
Nat is the AI program. He and Adam hit things off pretty quickly.
Nat is scheduled for deletion, and Adam thinks it’s one-and-done for them when he leaves for the dreaded wedding on Earth.
It is not over.
Super, super conceptually creative.
The action isn’t even the highlight. It’s the fact that the author took such a chance on the wild premise, committed to it, and it pays off.
Cool ending—somewhere between HFN and HEA.
“And I’m not allowed to like terrible things?” “No. Only excellent things from now on.”
I don't know why I read another one of Lydia Sebastian's pamphlets. My review is always the same. There's a great idea here, an interesting story and promise, if only it was more than 30 pages. That's it. That's the review. I don't even think this author writes anymore but if they do, can we get more than 30 pages, please.
I really enjoyed it very much, between the virtual sex are two beings who make a very cute couple. I wished it were longer, and I'm adding Lydia Sebastian to my must read list. While reading it I felt right there with Adam and Nat, it was more than phone sex between a human and an artificial intelligence (AI) robot. The fantasy is amazing and the way the author tell us about it, makes it more real. There are some funny parts, well, I found them funny. Maybe there were not supposed to be, but I laughed out loud to the way Nat talked to the server he is hosted on. LOL It asked for a safe word before accessing information he shouldn't, isn't that cute? And there is more, Nat has a truly wicked sense of humor. It relaxed me after a particularly stressful day.
...like a little man on machine action. ...or maybe it's machine on man. Huh. ...enjoy spaceships and sadistic AI overlords. ...think there needs to be more in the machine/man genre.
Yeeeaaaaah. I liked this one. It was fast and fun with a side order of sexy sci-fi role playing. You had me at cruel AI overlord, book.
Re-read 3/9/23 since I didn't remember reading it the first time...still pretty good for PWP, even the second time around.
Original review: Surprisingly well-written -- although I should really stop staying it's surprising, since everything I've read by this author (all today) has been funny, utterly sexy, and happily lacking in spelling or grammar errors. I think this author is my new go-to for smexy PWP!
Lol, this should probably just be a 4☆ except it was too much fun. I kept thinking of Mike from Robert Heinlein's The Moon is a Harsh Mistress... except, obviously, kinkier 😉 I'd be SO DOWN with a full-length novel for these two !
