Flora has no idea where she will go or what she will do, but she has to escape the community where she was raised. When she takes off, she runs into Q in the woods and doesn’t know what to think. Everything she knew about the world turned out to be a lie. Q promises to help, but will he?
Quentin “Q” Kensing doesn’t know what to think about the woman who ran into his campsite, but he can’t leave her alone in the woods. He thinks he can leave her at a shelter in San Diego, but the first one they go to isn’t safe enough for someone as innocent as Flora. He can’t let her fall victim to anyone else.
Can Q and Flora stay friends, or will more develop between them?
Flora and Q. Quite a different take on danger. Flora and Q have a memorable first meeting that was the cliffhanger in the previous book, but also showed how strong Flora was. Her background sounds unbelievable, but once shared led to the raid of a cult where she and others had been abused for decades. The women were the star of the book as they embraced Flora and helped her learn about the actual world. The Refuge from Susan Stoker was part of this story and I loved seeing Tonka and Henley! The leak in the SEAL teams was mentioned again and a brief mention of Thario both have me excited for future books!
Ran right into that. A series that flourishes on drama. SEALs that find damsels in distress and do everything in their arsenal to quell that distress. In this tale the damsel did the finding as Flora ran right into the campsite where Q was camping. An abundance of unexpected twists trickle through with a few things that may give you pause. New challenges at every turn. Enter the army of navy friends there are always plenty of people ready to tackle any situation. An ending that would makes a longer book preferable.
