I might be the orc’s mail order bride, but I’ll be the one giving the orders around here!
Desperate and on the run from my arranged marriage to Bratva boss, Dmitri, I take up an offer to be a lonely orc’s mail order bride. Now I’m alone in a foreign country and engaged to a monster, but even that is better than the alternative. I just have to pretend long enough to get my green card and make my escape.
Only my new husband, Erik makes me feel heard and cared for. He might be huge and hulky, but he’s also gentle and considerate even when I push him away. The more I get to know him, the more I realize I’ve underestimated him. After Dmitri, I vowed never to let another man touch me again. But Erik’s not a man. He’s a monster…
I find myself wanting to trust my orc husband, maybe even wanting to love him. But that that’s dangerous. My brother and the Bratva have even more reach than I knew and staying in one spot would be a mistake.

Just read the last one in the series and I had soooo much fun. At this point, I thought I knew what these books had to offer, but this one still managed to surprise me in the best way. It was sweet, funny, and somehow even more engaging than the others. Easily one of my top three from this series! 🙌
What really stood out for me was the actual solid side plot. Like, for the first time in the series, I found myself genuinely invested in what was happening outside the romance. There were actual stakes and even some fun world-building moments that gave the story more weight.
Also… let’s talk about the kinks explored in this book. Because, uhm… Some things were happening. Things I was definitely not expecting. And I’m not saying I am into anything like that, but I’m also not not saying that 👀
I absolutely LOVED Erik. He was such a sweet loving husband and such a good subby boy. It's not often I read a foot kink and enjoy it (no shaming here but not my thing, until now?!) There's also my fave things like pegging (WOO), cinnamon roll MMC, peen cage, found family and healing. Snickers was such a fun side character too! Loved getting to see our dragon boss again too. Such a fun and spicy read!
Russian Mob bosses sister is forced into an arranged marriage with an abusive mobster from America and in exchange for her safety she provides information to the FBI for a new chance at life. This chance happens to be in the form of an arranged male order bride to a perfectly sweet Orc in America.
I loved that with this book the orc was sweet and submissive to the dominate human. It was a nice twist to the normal monster romance vibe. If you’re looking for a quick read and enjoy monster romance this book is a winner for sure! I loved seeing how the relationship developed.
This book was a little different from the other Monstrous Deals books and I thought it was a fun change. Vera is a Bratva princess and about to be forced into a marriage with a man who has been violent with her. She is scared to go against her brother who has now come into power but she doesn’t want to live the life that is being forced on her. So Vera finds a way out of the country and away from the arranged marriage but she finds out she will need to marry someone else. She has to trust the agent will find her someone nice but trust is not something Vera has much of. When she finds out she will be a mail order bride for an orc she agrees. She doesn’t have the time to ponder how it will be though and she just needs to get out of the country. Erik is a big green lonely orc who wishes he would have found his person by now. He has a new crazy puppy that keeps him busy now but its not the same as having a mate. When he see’s the add for a gorgeous mail order bride through the Monstrous Dating App he thinks he’s found a solution to his loneliness. The problem is that when the gorgeous woman makes it to him she is very closed off. She is struggling with English, hides away in the room, and has absolute no interest in his affectionate touches. When new information about Vera’s past life is revealed Erik begins to understand his future wife better. The two learn about the things they like that compliment each other and their bond grows. Unfortunately Vera’s past is coming back to haunt her and it’s unclear what that could possibly mean for them. Vera/Inessa was a difficult character to like in the beginning. She is very closed off and rude to Erik despite her agreeing to the situation. Given her past experiences it makes sense how she treats him and it made it that much more rewarding when she does finally start to let her big orc fiancé in. Erik is the sweetest himbo ever. He’s big, clumsy, and intimidates everyone around him but he has a heart of gold. I absolutely loved the dynamic between these two. Vera was able to have control and feel comfortable with her soon to be husband. I love seeing Erik be submissive and so wholeheartedly devoted to his woman. Once they were able to see what they each wanted the relationship progressed so nicely. Definitely check this book out if you want a monster novella with mail order bride, a bit of a language barrier, femdom, escaping the past, a submissive orc, pegging, mafia family, and a sweet slow burn romance.
💚 “I’d do anything to make you happy, Inessa. Anything.” ~~~ Vera (Inessa) is a wonderful woman! As a Bratva princess her life hasn’t been easy and now it’s about to become even more dangerous. I loved Vera’s strength and resilience - she’s a woman who readily faces any challenges and hardships thrown her way. Even more, I loved her courage to stand up for herself and take her fate into her own hands. Vera is really great and I liked her a lot!
And then, there’s Erik! He’s the sweetest, most caring, kind and considerate orc. He’s a gentle giant with a big and loving heart. And, yes, he's a bit clumsy and goofy, too, but that just makes him even more charming and endearing. Erik is a really good person and the nicest cinnamon roll and I adored everything about him!
I loved everything that happened between Vera and Erik! Vera needs a way out of her current life and Erik really wants someone to belong to. And the solution for both comes with the help of Monstrous Deals. I loved Erik and Vera together! Their chemistry was fantastic and I really enjoyed every moment they spent in each other’s company. Even more, I adored Erik for being so patient, understanding and considerate when it came to his new fiance, giving her the time to get to know him. And the more time Vera spent with him, the more she saw that Erik was not like the other men she’s had to deal with, and the more she fell for the incredible monster right in front of her. And when they gave into the undeniable attraction, the passionate moments they shared were so hot and I couldn’t get enough. Vera and Erik were so perfect for each other and absolutely deserved to find happiness and love together.
Overall, the story is another quick, naughty and truly wonderful addition to the series.
I loved it!
P.S. I loved that we got to see Kivrayn once again in all his grouchy and bossy glory!
4.5 stars. Vera, the female human lead and kingpin’s daughter/sister, is desperate to escape the Russian bratva and the organised marriage to a cruel man. She accepts the offer of a new identity for information and an organised marriage with an orc.
Erik, the male orc lead, has been living and working in the city since he left his childhood village. He desperately wants a partner, preferably human, but all his attempts thus far have been unsuccessful. When he sees an ad for a human mail-order bride, he eagerly applies, even though it will cost him nearly all his savings.
Vera isn’t sure what to do with her over enthusiastic orc husband. Erik is trying desperately to make Vera comfortable. When he realises how disconcerted she is by touch, he offers for her to lead and that seems to open up new paths that suit them both.
But has Vera successfully left her past behind?
This story is dual POV, well written, and a sweet and very steamy, contemporary fantasy, golden retriever/black cat, orc/human romance. I empathised with Vera’s past trauma and the restrictions it placed on her initial interactions. I enjoyed her character development and the way she can came to adore Erik’s enthusiasm and their ways of interacting as a couple. I adored Erik’s patience, compassion and kindness. I enjoyed their sweetly erotic intimate scenes and Erik’s joy in giving Vera the lead. I enjoyed the supportive secondary characters and chuckled at the overly involved and loving orc family. Heed the author’s content warnings to make sure this is your cup of tea; it certainly is mine!
I received a complimentary copy from the author and this is my voluntary honest review.
Oh my goodness! Erik is a big, sweet, cinnamon roll of an orc and he wants nothing more than to find his special someone and just BELONG to them. It's adorable, really. Finding Inessa on the MD app and seeing she was specifically looking to be a mail-order bride doesn't faze him. He knows he likes her and he has very high hopes that they'll make an emotional connection and things will end up like he dreamed.
That said, Inessa is in a tough situation when she first meets Erik. She's on the run, assumed a new identity, and she wonders if she's safe. Being a mail-order bride is a means to an end and she doesn't really think about how Erik contracted with her in good faith and is desperately hoping they'll work. Let's just say that things were a little tense in the household at first. Inessa is on edge, Erik has boundless energy and good intentions, and they're not quite on the same page.
Then Inessa steps out of her comfort zone and soon the two are cozying up. Even more important, Inessa starts to open up. She doesn't tell Erik everything, but he begins to understand that her life wasn't all puppies and roses and takes that into consideration as their relationship progresses.
A little danger, an orc-ish family get-together, some mutual control play, a golden retriever of an orc with plenty of enthusiasm, and a lady who has a chance to remake herself into someone different. You know, once she deals with her past. *thumbs up*
Massive thanks to Ami Wright for providing an eARC; this is my unbiased review.
Ami Wright’s latest Monstrous Deals book took me completely by surprise - in the very best way. I went in expecting heat and humour (and trust me, you’ll get plenty of both), but what I didn’t expect was how soft this story would be beneath its tusks and claws.
From the first page, I was hooked by the dynamic between Erik, the orc, and Vera/Inessa, his mail-order bride. Erik is not just a brute; he’s patient, protective, and unexpectedly gentle. And Inessa? Strong, clever, and unafraid to challenge him, even as she learns to trust and crave him.
Their chemistry may not be immediate, but when it sizzles up, it's electric, and feral in the best way - but it's also grounded in something deeply emotional. There’s a gorgeous undercurrent of consent and mutual respect that runs through every scene, even the steamy ones. Wright writes spice with flair and feeling - every encounter pulses with tension, need, and a real sense of connection. And let’s not skip over the humour - there’s a lightness threaded through this book that made me grin just as much as it made me blush.
But what really stayed with me was the vulnerability. Both characters have emotional wounds they’re nursing, and watching them heal in each other’s arms was just so satisfying. I finished this book with a full heart and a silly smile; Ordered by the Orc really is a monstrous delight with a tender heart.
Notes: I received a copy of this book as an advanced reader, but all thoughts and opinions are my own.
What I Liked: 🐕 This story was a bit different than the usual ones in the Monstrous Deals series. Yea there are monsters. Yes it is SPICY 🥵 but….I was not expecting a whole Russian mafia subplot. It added a completely new element that I throughly enjoyed!
🐕One of the best parts of this book was the addition of a four legged friend. Snickers the dog added a really adorable dynamic to the book. I’m hoping this is something Ami adds in future works!
What I Didn’t Like: 🐕 I would have liked to see their love story fleshed out a touch more. It felt almost too quick I also felt that Vera/Inessa learned English in record time. By the end of the book, it seemed like she was a native speaker which would only be a few weeks later.
Final Thoughts: 🐕Ami Wright never fails to deliver books that are super hot with a monster as the MMC. However so many times, there are times you can almost forget that they are monsters!
Oh that sweetest of gentle giants Erik! I loved him. He was sweet, gentle, just overall nice guy. All he wants is to have a family and a mate to spoil. And I loved that about him. Kind of different from typical male leads. And Vera/Inessa was also great. It was hard reading about her first several interactions with Erik but not because I didn’t like her-it was just hard to see how hard Erik was trying and how she kept accidentally/not too willingly shutting him down. But when she decides to actually take a chance and see what happens? Loved it! These two were so good together. She never wanted him to change and she loved him for those traits others kept telling him he needed to change. And Erik was so patient and willing to work with her that he got his woman to love, adore, support, and worship as he wanted to. He became more confident as he realized she actually liked him for him. The actual story was great and went smoothly. The danger was there and felt and I personally liked how it was resolved. Loved the book and would recommend, if femdom is something you enjoy reading.
I did receive an ARC and this is my honest opinion.
3.5* This was so cute. I loved everything about this, to be honest. It was a very sweet yet spicy forced proximity romance. But let me tell you a bit about the characters.
Vera/Inessa was very cold at first because she’s dealing with some trauma, and I loved seeing how she slowly opened up—trusting and allowing herself to love Erik when she realized that he really wouldn’t hurt her and just wanted to make her happy.
Erik, now, is the sweetest little cinnamon roll orc ever. I felt so maternal because he was just so soft and sweet, and everything about his personality screamed "love me." Even though he was very big, he was always trying not to be intimidating. He was so gentle—even when Vera was still cold to him. He thought he was disappointing her or that maybe she didn’t like him or was afraid of him, and he just kept trying his hardest to win her over. He was the sweetest thing ever. He was precious.
Usually I don't like books that have a femdom trope but this was tolerable — I was all for it in this case.
Overall, I really needed this book. I’ve been waiting so long to get access to it, and I finally have it—and it was satisfying.
This was a cute story. I loved Erik's character. He was just what Vera needed. She'd endured a lot because of the nature of her family's business.
Though this was the eighth book in Monstrous Deals series I didn't feel that it was on par with Ami's usual work. The story itself had every component to involve the reader. Trauma itself is a hard subject to broach, but Amy addressed it with grave and compassion.
Through the love that developed between the main characters Vera was able to open up to a male who only wanted her to be happy, who had her best interests at heart. The emotions of the power that he enabled her to harness was captivating 💜
A beautiful love story filled with plenty of heat and passion. 🔥💜
This page-turner captured me from the beginning. Not only are the writing and the world building excellent, but I found the characters and plot engaging. I also enjoyed the action and the spice. Erik is a truly lovable big lunk of an orc; he is utterly sweet and he only wants to make his mate happy. I have to admit it took me a little time to warm up to Vera/Inessa, as she was very cold towards poor Erik initially, but I felt sorry for what she had endured and I was impressed by her bravery. By the end, I felt both of them were lucky to have each other. I was very fond of Eric's family and happy to get a glimpse of his boss Kivrayn and of Loren. This author's books are so much fun! I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Enjoyed this one a lot. The characters were very easy to like. It was a little rough for them at the beginning but it all worked out perfectly at the end.
Erik was super sweet. He was literally a big gentle giant. All he wanted was a parter to love and cherish. He was respectful and respected the boundaries Inessa had.
Inessa is such a strong woman. She has a rough past but doesn't let it keep her down. As closed off as she was at the beginning I loved how she saw how sweet and kind Erik was and gave him a chance.
After reading Fired By My Grumpy boss I was looking forward to Erik book so bad and it didn't disappoint. This is the perfect fast read, sweet book for anyone that loves monster romance!
This was a quick but great read! I was the tinest bit hesitant to start this book because most of the kinks listed I've either never read or were not my thing, but holy shit was I proven wrong?!?
Erik is the sweetest cinnamon roll orc I've ever read about. He just wants to love and be loved! The way he wants to be dominated is so 🥵
Vera/Inessa initially presents a cold front reacting from a place of fear. Her icy exterior is quickly melted by our sweet orc. And when the walls come crumbling down, she fully leans into her attraction to Erik.
I love how Inessa embraced Erik's family and their traditions. It was so sweet to see how much this meant to the both of them.
Ami's books are always short, sweet, and spicy, but I always want MORE!!! Thanks for another wonderful arc!
Vera escaped the arranged marriage by her bratva family becomes a mail order bride for an orc that would do anything for a mate to call his own. Someone he would do anything for.
-She calls him sunshine in Russian
-He would do absolutely anything for her
-He likes it when she takes charge
-Pegging
Final thoughts Went into this book knowing the premise was a mail order bride situation but was not prepared for the amount of Golden Retriever energy coming from an Orc just looking for Love. I loved the misunderstanding Erik and Vera had between them before they finally bonded. They built a safe place with each other. Finally this story read very quickly and kept up the same energy throughout the whole book!
This book is short and quick to read. I’ve read some of the other books in the series, but this can be read as a stand alone. Although this is part of the monstrous deals series, the characters mentioned in this book are from the monster boss series. You don’t need to have read those either to read this one. I think this is my least favorite of the series, and I’m still not sure I enjoy monster smut, but this was my first orc book. Something about the lack of fated mates made it seem less compelling I think for an interspecies relationship. It’s still an Ami Wright book though, so well written, ok spice and ok plot.
That's not enough of a review? Alright then ... Himbo orc 'meets' (read: mail orders) traumatised human. Also contains sassy dachshund 🐶
TW: foot play and p🥚ING (just in case that isn't for you, not got to lie the foot thing is the reason this isn't a 5⭐ for me - not here to yuck someone's yum, it just isn't for me.
I've loved the monstrous deals series and trips to Heartstone, and I also love that this links in with the Grumpy Dragon Boss book (but you don't have to have read it for it to make sense, but it will give some heavy spoilers if you plan on reading the Dragon Boss later)
The sweetest and most likeable guy in town falls in love in a bossy and quite unlikeable girl. Did it work for me in romance department? I am not sure... But oh my, in spice department the story is absoulutely fantastic!!! 🔥🔥🔥 I loved every single spice scene, the way how specific features of both characters were used to created the juicy chemistry, how they explore their s@xuality, the very well executed size difference trope and logical creation of fem dom. Overall, read it for spice and it is totally worth it!
I love the Monstrous Deals Series! They are a lovely collection of short, smutty, monster romances! In this installment we actually get to see our orc, Erik, from Fired by my Grumpy Dragon Boss (also a GREAT monster romance) get his girl! Our bratva princess is on the run and her best option is to become a mail order bride for a monster! I really enjoyed this story and the heat level was great! Erik is such a total sweetheart and it is so wonderful to see Inessa receive the love and devotion that has really been missing in her life!
If you like monster romance these are really fun reads! They are some that I will pick up when I feel like I am in a rut and need a quick read to reset.
I absolutely am addicted to this series!! Vera and Erik's story is deliciously sweet and steamy! We've met Erik before and now he's finally getting his HEA. Vera is strong spirited, but has spent a lifetime being conditioned to be meek. She finds an escape and takes it. Erik is unlike any male she's ever met. He's sweet, encouraging and loves her assertiveness. I loved how they discovered a new side to themselves with each other. As I said, I'm addicted to this series and the wild Ami Wright has created and can't wait for more!
This is a fun and cozy monster romance. All the books in the series are standalones and can be read out of order, with only minor spoilers.
The human FMC is a Russian mafia princess trying to escape an arranged marriage to a mobster. She takes a deal to become a mail-order bride in America, and ends up matched with an orc MMC.
It’s a grumpy/sunshine romance featuring a cinnamon roll hero and a touch of sub/dom dynamics.
A spicy, easy read, and one of the stronger books in the series.
Spice: 5/5 Plot:4/5 Writing: 4/5 My Enjoyment: 4/5
I was excited when this ARC opportunity popped up in my email today. So of course, I read it straight through! I wasn't sure I was going to like Vera/Inessa at first, but I really did! And sweet, kind Erik was exactly what she needed in order to trust again. The spice build-up was perfect. Monstrous Deals wins again for finding perfect mates! I wonder if I can put an order in for a dragon? Pre-order now so you can read Ordered by the Orc on April 22nd
Probably the deepest storyline yet. Inessa is escaping her family and agrees to marry Erik. A sensitive, gentle giant. Inessa struggles to believe that Erik is as kind and wonderful as he appears. I really enjoyed the couple uncovering new kinks with each other. I mean who doesn't love the idea of a big strong man whimpering because he can't touch his female? And they get inventive 😉😉😉 Add in a few wyverns and this girl has a new fav story.
Ami delivers another fantastic story. Vera is running from a nasty brother and the arranged marriage to another nasty. It did take me a bit to warm up to her. She kept pushing away the best thing to come into her life. And Erik just wants someone to love him and he deserves that. His being extremely patient, kind and loving eases the way to their connection. Another great addition to the Monstrous Deals series.
This Orc!!! I’ve read many Orc books but this particular one… well he just stole my heart!!! This green sweet obedient gentle giant had me begging for more chapters just so I could keep drooling all over him! He won my heart by being the hero so many times in small ways and then in a huge way! I can’t wait to read this over and over again!!! Who knew I would fall in love with the color green!!!
Honestly this book was super cute and Vera/Inessa and Erik’s relationship is literally so adorable because Inessa learns to love and trust Erik and their relationship turns into something just so beautiful also I loved snickers she’s so silly
I also didn’t know if I was going to be super into the whole orc man sub but wow that did something for me for sure lol
The only thing I’ll say is at the end the ending to Vera’s story felt super rushed
Vera and Erick Vera is a crime lord princess, her dad and brother arrange for her to Jarry a very cruel man but She is very strong and decides to Run away the only way She could, by beeing and mail order bride. She escapes to BE with her new husband Erick but She didn't plane on staying but Erick is difrent and makes feel safe and seen. They have so much chemistry together and fit so well. This is another great addition to this amazing series.
This was fun - I felt slumpish so I picked this up to see if I was in one or not( I don’t think I am) this was truly fun and enjoyable- I need to read monster romance more fr !!
Honestly, I wanted to read a demon romance novella cus demons are hot af and honestly if I was given the chance I’d sell my soul to fuck one !! Anyways that’s how I got here.
I’ve read every book in this novella series now- apart from one that I plan to read next week when I get paid - cus it’s not included in ku
