It's bad enough that my reality show spaceship was attacked. Now, I'm stuck on an escape pod with the show's uptight safety inspector. The heat between us could light a bonfire, but I'm terrified that my heart will get burned.
And what happens when we get back home—can we thwart the mysterious enemy that threatens us? And if we survive, can our fledgling bond last?

4.5 ⭐s "Lady Scientists of Earth Save the Galaxy" coming soon to your television!
Harkin is the Xanxian safety inspector on the spaceship "The Adventure," which is bound for the unexplored golden planet, Orocopa 1. There was an accident on the maiden voyage of "The Adventure," but Harkin isn't sure that it wasn't a planned attack of some sort. There was some evidence of foul play. This flight is for a new entertainment program, "The Lady Scientists of Earth."
Regina was present when the last exploration failed. As such, her father is very concerned for her safety.
Orocopa 1 has never been successfully explored, not even by the Xanxians. The glittery planet is surrounded by a cloud of noxious poisonous gas. They don't know if it's the poisonous gas or something else on the planet, but every previous expedition has failed. The Galactic Safety Authority, or GSA, has determined that some planets are disappearing in the area.
Harkin takes safety very, very seriously. He gets impatient and upset when people don't listen when he tries to show them to the escape pods. The worst offender is Regina Lee, one of the lady scientists of Earth. Personally, she's everything he likes and appeals to him; she's feisty, has a hot body, and is fearless. If she could just tone it down when she really needs to pay attention, like when being shown escape routes.
What no one knows is that Harkin and Regina hooked up six rotations ago after they first met. They're perfect together for a hookup, but it would never work long-term. They're both too independent and too different, and neither is interested in compromising. They agreed to keep their affair quick, dirty, and secret. Her accidentally falling asleep and staying overnight with him wasn't supposed to happen. He personally thinks she'd make a terrific life mate, but she'd vehemently deny that she'd ever be interested in something like that. But she's beginning to think there's something about this bonding. If she's going to face the unknown and possible death, wouldn't it be nice to be with her bonded mate, Harkin, at her side?
Harkin was former military until an injury ended that career. Now he takes his orders from a TV network, which is a humbling downgrade for him. Suddenly there are explosions on board, carbon monoxide levels are rising, the hull has been breached on two decks, and there are fires in the walls. The order is given to evacuate the ship.
When they were rescued, the last two who escaped reported that Orocopa 1 wasn't real. They followed a drone that landed on a small planet. As they leave, a large ship sucks up the planet and leaves with it.
Regina thinks she's figured out what is going on. To be sure, they'll have to be able to hack into the drones on Orocopa 1, send a message to the owner of the drones, and then completely destroy Orocopa 1.
Is Regina's theory correct? Will they be able to make peace with whoever sent the drones?

A rule-loving alien. A rebellious human. Survival isn't the hardest part, falling for each other is.
When a reality show set in deep space is rocked by a sudden attack, Regina, a fearless and emotionally guarded scientist, ends up trapped in an escape pod with Harkin, the ship’s safety inspector. He’s all discipline and rules. She’s all impulse and attitude. What starts as banter turns into fire neither of them knows how to handle.
Close quarters bring them together fast, but once they're rescued, real life crashes back in. With the galaxy unraveling and danger still out there, their fragile connection is pushed to the edge. Harkin wants something real. Regina’s not sure she’s ready to let anyone in.
As threats mount and secrets unfold, the crew scrambles to find answers before more lives are lost. Regina takes the lead, Harkin backs her without question, and through every hit, their bond gets stronger. What began as a clash of opposites becomes a love that just might change everything.
Regina learns to stop running from connection. Harkin learns how to bend without breaking. Together they become something neither expected, partners, lovers, and each other’s safe place in a galaxy that keeps shifting beneath their feet.
A steamy, grumpy sunshine, forced proximity, opposites attract, alien-human, fated mates, sci-fi erotic romance that explores love versus fear of attachment, growth through vulnerability, and trust under pressure. It’s about survival, emotional risk, found family, and choosing love even when it terrifies you. At its core, it’s about a woman who stops pretending she doesn’t care, a man who holds on anyway, and a bond that turns heat into something unbreakable.
The Elevator Pitch: A sharp-tongued human scientist and a rule-obsessed alien safety officer are forced into close quarters after a devastating space attack. What begins as friction turns into fiery attraction, then deep connection, as they confront danger, desire, and a galaxy-wide threat. Packed with tension, heat, and heart, this sci-fi romance blends survival stakes with emotional depth and explosive heat.
Determined to succeed, the reality tv show about female scientists has another attempt at success despite all the accidents. In this last story we meet Harkin, who is a stickler for health and safety, and Regina. As they deal with yet another accident, it appears that all is not as it seems and everyone needs to work together to find the problem and come up with a solution. An enjoyable story full of suspense, action, drama and steam. I read it in one sitting and this series has been one I couldn't put down.
This has been a fun series and I really enjoyed this last book. Harkin is in charge of security for the show and he takes his role very seriously. He and Regina are having a no-strings affair that no one knows about. He thinks she'd be the perfect mate, though, with her feistiness and fearlessness. With explosions, drones and disappearing planets, you can expect some really cool action ;) This was a page turner for me, filled with action, drama, suspense and steam. So fun and I'm looking forward to what's next by this author :D
Regina and Harkin are freaking adorable!! He’s the super serious slightly grumpy alien trying to keep everyone safe. Regina is a human scientist and has been having a secret relationship with Harkin. It’s supposed to be casual but their hearts are connecting and that scares them. Facing the end of the world those fears seem silly as we race toward a future that’s safe and a HEA that’s perfect.
