For fans of Jodi Ellen Malpus, Sylvia Day and Fifty Shades of Grey, become addicted to the Untwisted Series
Passionate, intense and addictive
Book One in the Untwisted series
A dizzying, all-consuming affair with famous pianist Nicholas Jackson draws in timid bookshop owner Rebecca and engulfs her with his passion and dominance, then spits her out heartbroken and bruised.
Now, Rebecca is left trying to move on from the relationship she shared with Nicholas, but just as she starts to clear her head, he reappears in her life determined to win her back.
But seeing as Nicholas has already shown once that the darkness within him is lurking just below the surface, can Rebecca really take that risk again with her heart and body?
Where to start? I’m really a lot more boring and normal than my books might suggest. It may disappoint some to know that I’ve never had an illicit affair with a domineering pianist, nor have I ever met or dated a man who frequented sex clubs in London. I have however always had an overactive imagination, which may in part explain where my stories come from! My books may be fiction, but the setting of London was a deliberate choice, I was born and raised in London and as such it holds a special place in my heart which I hope comes across in my writing. Some of my best times have been spent with friends wandering the markets of Camden or sipping beers in Covent Garden.
I moved to Manchester to study, where I ended up living for over ten years. Originally I qualified as an archaeologist, but I soon realised that jobs in that sector were minimal and decided to put my enthusiasm to use by becoming a teacher. Now I split my time between teaching, and engaging my wildly over active imagination by writing. Currently I’m living abroad spending my days exploring, teaching and writing. Where ever I find myself I live with my ever suffering, but hugely supportive husband, our dog and a crazy half-wild cat who keeps the whole household on its toes.
Music is a huge influence in my writing, I listen to everything from Snow Patrol and Linkin Park to Evanescence and REM, in fact, those of you with a good memory for lyrics might even spot one or two lines popping up in my writing as you read. I enjoys writing a wide range of genres including comical real life stories and youth paranormal fantasy, but my first published novels are the adult themed trilogy series 'Untwisted.'
Book 1 of 4. Series complete! Looks perfect for me!

FREEBIES are often good for MORE than one day, I have gathered all my FREEBIES on a special shelf: Kindle-freebies (currently over 500 books) https://www.goodreads.com/review/list...
This was good..but be warned it is VERY similar to FSOG, so if you liked that you will probably like this one.
Of course there are some differences. Nicholas is a pianist and like a certain Grey character he is very demanding, controlling and very sexy and there is a dark side to him.
Rebecca was a good character, but she did get on my nerves with all of her blushing and calling Nicholas "pervy" and "naughty" in her head. Some of the things weren't over the top, but she was blushing and thinking it was "naughty". That got on my nerves, but other than that, good story. Drama, conflict and some pretty hot sex. I felt the ending was abrupt and wanted more . Something pretty big happened at the end and then boom, it was over.
Will definitely read book 2 which is about Nicholas' brother, Nathan.
3.5 stars. This was good. It had all the dominant, way jealous, obsessed kind of love that I like reading about. It was a lot like 50 which isn't bad but kinda makes you compare. When I compare it isn't as good. Plus I thought the whole series was about the one couple and come to find out the next two are about his brother. Which disappoints me!! I wanted more of Nicholas, he will get another book soon but I loved the idea of a whole series of books about one couple.
a story that has been told over and over since 50 Shades. There is a lot of similarities in this one but the writing is better and instead of one dark character there are actually two . Book one is about Nicholas and Rebecca whilst book 2 is about Nathaniel and Stella.
This was the first book that I've read by this author, and since it was compared to fifty shades and Sylvia day books I was intrigued to get started. However, for the first fifty percent I was confused. One moment s Rebecca was in here office and the next she was remembering a past memory. Now that would have been fine if we knew when this was changing, but it all run together and I felt like I was rereading quite a lot. This left me quite bored and I didn't like Nicholas, at all. However, come 60% of the way through the story changed direction. We get to know the real Nicholas and why he is the way he is. It changes the story substantially and I was interested to find out what was going to happen. Then the ending is quite explosive when the father shows up, but it just ends. I know it's a series of books, but I did expect a little more from this book before we moved onto Nathan's book. It was very long at the beginning and rushed at the end. In my opinion A prologue of the fateful night that broke up Nicholas and Rebecca would have sufficed, then right into the present day would have been a better scenario.
It took me a long time to finish this book. I kept stopping bc it was so slow and boring. The h was an idiot. She lets the H control her and decides to put up with this behavior bc the sex is good and she has never enjoyed it so much. What a dummy!!! She acted innocent one minute and wanton the next. I was surprised that she did much of the chasing in the book. It was kind of pathetic. I wish she would have made him work for it instead of falling back so quickly. The H was just as confusing. He acted too cold and distant for most of the book. Lastly, the synopsis is incorrect. The H does not go back to her bc he thinks she is dating someone else. There is never any mention of that. The ending was pretty unbelievable. No one is going to act like that with a whole bunch of people around. While I am curious about Nathan and Stella and I don't think I will be continuing this series.
" if you liked " fifty shades" you will like this". No kidding because it's exactly the same. I took notes: no less than 12 exact scenarios, mannerisms of the characters. Here's they are ( sound familiar????) 1. Nicholas runs his hands through his hair all the time just like Christian grey did 2. Nicholas is jealous of any man and accuses Rebecca's co worker of wanting to f her 3. Nicholas has an f'd up childhood 4. She leaves him after a brutal punishment 5. She is inexperienced 6. He plays the piano 7. He has a playroom in his home 8. He has house staff who are close to him 9. He inserts toys in her and makes her go out in public 10. There is a charity auction 11. He sees a shrink 12. Paparazzi pics in the newspaper
Cmon. Really??? Just go back and read FSOG. the BDSM scenes were better there anyway.

I don't do spoilers or reviews that take paragraphs. What I will say is if you like your men dark and domineering, sexy and troubled, possessive and dirty...then by hell Nicholas Jackson is your fantasy come to light by the amazing talents of Alice Raine. She just sucks you in from the prologue and won't let go. I am purchasing #2 in the Untwisted Series as soon as I'm done with this review. Read this book!! :)
4.5 Stars! I was really surprised at how much I enjoyed this book. I was expecting a 50 Shades of Grey type of story but this was much better. The characters didn't possess the constant angst of Christian Grey. When they ran into issues, they discussed them and moved forward to make ammends. I would much rather read this type of story than the drama filled Crossfire or 50SOG trilogies.
This was amazing Thank you Goodreads for the recommendation!!! The story was so dark and intense it keeps you on edge!!!I'm so looking to continuing this series!!!
The story is a little bit weak and too sweet for me. At the beginning the plot seemed to be different and fresh but it went not the way I wanted. There were too much thoughts than actions.
I got this book because it was recommended to me by a friend. It was relaxing and refreshing to be able to read about a new relationship where there is not all the conflict and drama that there are in a lot of the books out there. Once I read this book I looked the author up on my kindle and was happy to see the entire series to this set was available, I just had to continue on with the stories to find out about the characters and I wasn't disappointed. The series just gets better with each book
Here you have two very different people who appear to be the hero strong and dominant and heroine naive and shy. But what you get it quite the reverse. Becky has inner strength and passion to help this broken man through his past which has molded him into someone he doesn't necessarily want to be. Beautiful story and looking forward to reading Nathaniel and Stella s story now.
I absolutely adore all of your books, it isn't alike others which seem to be essentially the same story written in a different way. I got attached to all of the characters and can not wait for you to bring more books out! Definate 5 star have recommended to alot of friends
I bought these books a while ago and only read it over the weekend. I loved the 50 Shades novels and tried this one. It was a fresh outlook on the whole bondage sage. The storyline was great and not once to much or to overboard. Thank you for a great book.
I couldn't justify giving this more than three stars. It was ok but I felt like the ending was halfway through. After that it just seemed to drag on with filling added just to make it more book length, I can't think of how else to explain it.
I absolutely loved this book! It's a bit dark and twisted at times. But I love books with characters who have lived through some tough situations. I can't wait for the next book!
