Tryin’ to run with the big dogs turned out to be a huge mistake for a young Kentrell. When he’s robbed of product that belongs to a big time drug dealer, he has to pay the piper with his life. In doing so, he’s forced to break up with his girlfriend and abruptly move to Alabama. Twelve years later, his debt to Dro is paid and he’s headed back to Atlyn City to his family and to get his girl back.
Italy is livin’ her best life. She’s a popular travel chef, she’s just launched a cookware line, and she’s the darling of the food industry in AC. Life couldn’t get any better. While catering for a new client, Italy hears a voice from her past she thought she’d never hear again. Seeing Kentrell for the first time in twelve years was not on her 2025 BINGO board nor were the feelings she once had for him immediately resurfacing.
Kentrell is on a mission to get the love of his life back and he knows it’s goin’ to be an uphill battle to get Italy to trust him again let alone take him back. It doesn’t help that Dro and Monica’s lazy azz are workin’ hard in the background tryin’ to sabotage his efforts. I’m still tryin’ to understand why Kentrell bought Monica back to AC with him in the first place. If you’re tryin’ to get that ole thang back, why you bringin’ your current situation with you?!!! He didn’t even like that broad. Monica really was just somethin’ to do. But, even after Kentrell explains why he had to leave, Italy lets him know gettin’ her back won’t be easy. “If you want me back Kentrell, it’s going to take a hell of a lot more than what we just did. You have to work for it. Words aren’t enough at this point and neither is d*ck. You’ve got to show me that this time is different. That you’re different. You want me? Earn me.” Yaaaaasssss Italy! You betta tell him! Trell and Munchie were EVERYTHING!!! He was relentless in his pursuit to get her back and he wasn’t lettin’ anything or anyone get in his way. Welp! Two down and one more to go. I can’t wait to see what YaYa’s sneaky azz has been up to. Ma’am, who you creepin’ off to see in Mexico?!!! 😏
Italy and Trell have a second chance at love after over a decade apart. Initially I was like.. could never be me, because sir you wouldn't even exist to me because their random initial breakup was so abrupt. However, this is fiction so I gave them a chance and I did really like them together. It was clear they were long lost lovers, but Trell sir he had a whole lot of audacity. I didn't like how he was trying to start something with Italy, but his affairs were in no way shape or form in order. The love had him risking it all and moving sloppily. The love was fast paced, but the chemistry was there. However, the back story seemed too serious, too dangerous for the way it was handled. It was very unrealistic for the villains to be handled with NO backlash, I mean if it was that easy why not have handled it way before this 🤔 It just wasn't believable. With Dro being the plug you mean noone is avenging his death?? The resolution was too mild for the story.
The nicknames....I love a good nickname, but when multiple characters have them and there is a lot of dialogue it distracts from the story.
I am intrigued about Kenya though, I just want to know what's up with her and who is going to pull her out of this man hating phase she is in.
Book two of The Armani sisters was perfectly titled. In this second-chance romance story, the characters Italy and Kentrell had me waiting with bated breath to see if they could rekindle their love. And the ride was worth it because Kentrell was determined to get that “old thing back.” I loved the glimpses in their backstory that explained the “why” of the breakup and welcomed the new and improved version of the characters.
Italy is the middle child, a successful chef, and an entrepreneur. Kentrell is a boss in his own right, a leader, a family man, and a protector. While Italy is not dating, Kentrell is in a long-term relationship that was never meant to work. But Kentrell is ready to end that relationship and make a name for himself in Atlyn City - his roots and old stomping ground.
The reunion of the two was intriguing and tense for both sides. I don’t think Italy had time to think about what she would do if she saw Kentrell so soon, but she “let the choppa sing” - years of pent-up frustration and anger came out, it was necessary. Kentrell deserved the tongue-lashing, honestly. Lol. When Kentrell finally explained the situation, it didn’t lighten the blow but put things into perspective for Italy. And I appreciated that Italy didn’t fold so easily, she made Kentrell earn her! IKTR! Kentrell applied pressure, tied up those loose ends, and got his woman back. In true T’Lyn fashion, she provided funny banter, swoon-worthy moments, and enough drama to keep me engaged. I enjoyed this one!
What do you do when you and the love of your life have your whole future planned, and he shows up to your house suddenly and breaks up with you? Now it’s twelve years later, and you’ve tried to move on with your life; you have a successful career, and he’s suddenly moved back to town with his fiancée.
This is the dilemma for our good sis Italy. It’s been years since her ex Kentrell broke her heart, and she’s been doing good avoiding her feelings on the subject and building her brand. This book is so interesting because the angst is there. You wonder if Kentrell will get his girl back. Will Italy let her hurt go? This is a second chance romance, and that’s typically not something I enjoy because the past hurt is usually glossed over, but Trell never stopped thinking about how he hurt Italy. He never stopped apologizing and trying to show her he was a different man this time around, and I enjoyed it so much.
She gave in a lil fast for me but he didn’t forget that he needed to earn my girl back. Excited for Yaya’s story, i wonder who the lucky man is gonna be.
Italy and Kentrell were high school sweethearts that thought they would be together forever until Kentrell ended things in an attempt to protect his family.
Kentrell returns to their city years later and is determined to make Italy his. And I for one wish he hadn't. I just couldn't buy into Kentrell. It felt like the author had to make every other potential suitor a complete piece of shit, in order to make Kentrell seem like a good pick. I couldn't stand his ass for most of the book.
There's the complication of Kentrell being engaged...to the daughter of his supplier....who has forced him into the relationship. Kentrell's re-entry into Italy's life brings stress and drama and honestly I'm not sure he was worth it.
Not a fav but I definitely will continue with the series.
I sat on pins and needles once I realized Italy was gonna have no options in avoiding Trell. Baby, once they finally saw each other it was up. I loved that Italy didn’t just fold after she got everything off her chest. She made Trell earn her back and she stood on it. It was refreshing to see him own up to his mistake and then do what was necessary to get his girl back.
This is a second chance romance. Not the usual or typical and gives all the feels. The energy and pressure Trell applied behind Italy was everything and her allowing him to was even better. Great story on the 2nd Armani sister Miss MaMas. Can’t wait to see how you write YaYa’s story.
A T’Lyn books will get me every.. make it a second chance romance and you had me at Almost! See what I did there..
Italy and Kentrell are serving “it’s always been you” effortlessly! No time, no anger, no distance, no person.. nothing could truly cause their love to end. It’s signature T’Lyn love though so she’s giving you some messy side characters to love/hate plus the strong family vibes!
Ok this was a good quick read and although it started off with good promise, I do believe that Italy gave in too fast for my liking. He needed to do more begging and showing but just my opinion. Again, I say for the parents to own an airline something seems off about the fighters although we read that they dress nice and have careers. Owning an airline brings a certain type of wealth. Anywho, wish he had a better career than being a drug dealer but then the story would've been different.
I love a good second chance at love book. My girl Italy told my homie Kentrell if he wanted her then he would have to work for her. Italy made him stand 10 toes down on the past destruction that he caused her life and heart when he just up and left. Kentrell was willing to go to heck and high water to get his girl back, and I’m glad he stuck to his plan and claimed his woman.
I just love the men in T’lyn books, they get me right everytime 😩. They are almost down bad and obsessed with their women.
I love how Kentrell wanted her back and he actually slowed her. Also love how Italy actually gave him a chance to get her back and how it didn’t drag til the end of book.
Can’t wait for the next book in this series to come out!
The first book in this series was cool, but I wasn't really feeling this one. I just feel like I couldn't connect to Kentrell or Italy. Sitting around for 15 years and really not moving forward romantically at all. Like he broke her heart, and she's been celibate since and in her second interaction with him they have sex
I enjoy reading second chance love stories. Love came back full circle. I was happy to visit my special ity. I often wait to read these book to savor the feeling. Just read the damn book.
The experience was enjoyable, but it didn't quite reach the level of a true favorite in this series. The central romance, while cute, felt as though it lacked a certain spark, that would have truly had me invested throughout. What I truly enjoyed in this story was the portrayal of the sisterly bond; it was warm and authentic. The dynamics between the sisters felt genuine and compelling. I also didn’t think the male lead was a strong as I would’ve liked; he claimed to be a boss but it felt pretty meh. In conclusion, while the experience was pleasant enough, the lingering feeling of unrealized potential and prevented it from truly captivating me.
I wanted to love "Munchie's" story because she really was the chill sister who wanted the best for everyone in book one. However, this book seemed way too over the top, and like the vibes for these characters didn't match. Italy paired with Kentrell, didn't feel genuine, and after 12 years apart, the way they just fell back into everything didn't flow well to me. Overall, I found myself skimming through this one because it didn't hold my attention like China and Anario's storyline did in book one.
I love a good second chance romance but I didn't like the MMC at all. Italy deserved better. She's not in that life so why would she risk everything for a drug dealer? Trell treated Monica so bad just because he wasnt man enough to leave. The ending was also very unbelievable. No way you take out a top dog & not get any backlash.
This was cool, I think 🤔 Sanchez and Kenya are next because who else was doing that man's hair besides her. Also Sanchez is way more her speed she not gonna be able to tell him what to do, he gives off Alpha male vibes.
Italy, a travel chef and the middle sister of The Armani Sisters, who had a high school romance with Kentrell that ended in heartbreak when he broke off their relationship due to his getting robbed and being unable to pay his connect, which landed him in unseen trouble. Unbeknownst to Italy, Kentrell's actions to break up with her were driven by his need to protect her and his family. An encounter twelve years later finds Italy cooking for Kentrell and his girlfriend Monica, a situation that brings up old wounds for Italy and stirs longing feelings for Kentrell that he has hidden deep within himself. With the truth about his past actions finally revealed, Italy doesn’t care nor is she understanding of the depth of Kentrell's love and sacrifice. In her mind, he should have been able to communicate all those years ago. Kentrell did a lot of apologizing, overcompensating and reassuring of his feelings to win Italy back after losing so much lost time he definitely had a lot to make up for.
Now back home and soon to be free of Dro and Monica his past, Kentrell is determined to make amends and get his girl Italy back, embarking on a journey to heal past hurts and rebuild their relationship but will Italy make it that easy for him. Dive into this read and find out if this couple gets their happily ever after or if Kentrell allows someone else (Monica & Dro) to jeopardize his relationship with Italy again.
Ms. T’lyn girl you did it again. I was in a reading slump and this book pulled me right out. I knew after the first book that Italy’s story was going to be good. Italy and Kentrell were really end game. I normally do not enjoy second chance romances but this was different. I understood why Kentrell left. He was young and owed money to someone who would’ve killed everyone he loved. The reason he left was admirable. He wanted to protect her more than he wanted to live. Italy took her heart break and pain and made her business thrive. Being a world renowned celebrity chef was her pride and joy until a terrible chance encounter with Kentrell. That bitch Monica didn’t even know what she was doing when she hired Italy. She thought she was going to get to keep her man, nope bitch. The way Kentrell was willing to own up to and work to get her back was beautiful. He was not too much of a man to be worship the ground she walked on. The pregnancy didn’t even bother me here. The way T’lyn wrote the relationship between the sisters and friends is beautiful. Hell I cannot wait until Kenya’s story I am sure the oldest sister has some secrets to share!
Wasn’t terrible it just wasn’t great to me, the reason for the break up could’ve easily been communicated so all the drama just felt forced and unnecessary. Like I know we supposed to love to hate Kenya but in her man hating she actually had points and was asking the real questions. Like Ole girl made that speech about what she wasn’t gonna be while being that. Until he called it all off you a side chick idc what history yall have and he was wild for even taking her down. Like this can’t be the woman you love so deeply that you can’t respect her enough to break the relationship off before getting intimate. The death of the two main story villains felt rushed and anticlimactic. You telling me this big bad boss man ain’t even get to pinch miss chef lady or nothing? The love between the two characters was definitely there and expressed well it was just everything else that left me unimpressed. I know a story doesn’t hit to me when I can’t remember our FMCs name lmao and for the life of me I can’t recall the chefs name.
Oh I just love a second chance romance and this one didn't disappoint. I loved being back in Atlyn City with our favorite sisters. Italy and Kentrell had perfect young love until he made a decision, one to protect her and his family, but one that hurt her to the core. 12 years and success still didn't ease that pain, and seeing him for the first time only elevates it, but also made her realize she couldn't move on because she still loved him. After fighting the inevitable, she agrees to give him another chance, but he has to work for it. She didn't make him work too hard, but Trell made it a point to show and tell at every turn. Mr. Armani telling Trell to "handle his business," that made me smile and made Trell realize several situations needed to be handled. I loved the love, the success and seeing everyone together again. Kenya, why you so angry girl and what are you hiding??? Happy Reading Y'all!💋
First, I would have never thought Italy and Kentrell would ever, ever get back together! I liked this story, it was heartwarming, but at the same time, I felt that Kentrell’s relationship with Monica was glossed over. Like, why were you really in a relationship with her if you didn’t like her as a person and had no emotional or romantic feelings towards her whatsoever! Even if it was just for show, it wasn’t cool to just keep her around, knowing she wasn’t what you wanted or even liked for that matter. It was too easy for Kentrell to be done done with her! Another thing that kinda irked me, was how easily Italy gave in to Kentrell. He would have had to do months of groveling to get me back, wtf! The resolution with Doro and Ricardo was quick and fairly unmentionable, which I would have thought would have been more drama packed, but everything was tied up conveniently at the end.
I really love second chance stories because it gives the characters time to right a wrong. Trell getting caught up had him moving differently. His only option, he thought, was to break up with Italy. For twelve years, he got it out of the mud, lost his scholarship, and football career. The street called and he couldn't hang up the phone.
Italy, though hurt, went on to become a celebrity chef. She tried dating, but could never let her heart want anyone but Kentrell. She gave him the business, but eventually came around to his way of thinking. And as Kem says, love always wins.
Madame T'Cup has crafted another great installment to the Armani Sisters Series. I can't wait to read Yaya's story. She is a man basher who takes no shorts. Chop, chop Boo we need the next book.
4.5 ALMOST is the second book in the Armani Sisters series, following Italy ... a private chef who’s buried her heartbreak in her career. Years ago, she and Kentrell had their future planned out… until he suddenly showed up at her door and ended things without explanation. Now, twelve years later, she’s built a successful life for herself—only to find out he’s back in town... with a fiancée.
But when their paths cross again, the connection is undeniable. I love a good second-chance romance, and Italy’s story quickly became my favorite. Do I think Kentrell’s reason for leaving was enough? Not really ... but he was young and made a dumb choice. What mattered is that once he returned, he was laser-focused on making things right. He tied up loose ends, applied pressure, and did the work to win her back.
The second book for the Armani sister series features the second sister Italy and her first love Kentrell.
Italy is left with questions and a broken heart at young age. But that didn’t stop her from chasing her dreams on becoming a famous chef.
Kentrell had everything going for him at a young age, the girl of his dreams , playing football just living life. Then 💥 due to unforseen circumstances life takes a turn he wasn’t ready for and his perfect life wasn’t so perfect anymore.
Years later when their lives cross paths again. The journey these two take I loved reading and also seeing cameo from China and Rio was a major plus!
Do they have a happy reunion or is ALMOST all these two get. ??
I had a feeling that Kenya had some layers and boy was I right.
I’m glad Kenya realized that she had a village surrounding her. She was moving like a lone wolf when she was surrounded by love. But trauma can make you do that.
Chez was cute and all and when he was sweet, boy was he sweet. But his sourness was a little too much for me. He could be a real meanie when he felt justified and I don’t subscribe to that.
I do have 2 unanswered questions: did Midnite have feelings for Kenya lowkey? The petty smirks he gave to Chez was giving yes. And 2: what happened with Miguel and Jose? I don’t want to add spoilers but it felt like this part was unresolved.
Overall, this was a great read! Finished it in 1 day after reading the first two books in the series.
I love a second chance romance that’s done right. Italy waited yearsssssss my goodness lol. As I was reading this book, I started thinking about how sometimes we really haven’t healed from a heartbreak. We simply just keep moving on and not realizing the pain keeps showing up. Italy made a promise to herself out of pain. Love taught her a lesson and she poured everything into her career. Kentrell had to be the man of the house at an early age. It cost him greatly but he applied pressure upon his return. I love a good happy ending. Did my girl fold quicker than a lawn chair? Yes lol, but the heart wants what the heart wants.
I knew that I would love this book from the moment that I seen the cover in my favorite color and I was right!
Italy is a boss and I honestly love that for her. She needed someone who could make her feel loved and cherished and that could take charge so that she doesn't have to. Kentrell was that guy! He wasn't letting her go again.
If you love second chance romance Competence Successful and intelligent FMC Opposites attract It was always you The one that got away A man a little rough around the edges this book is for you.
