[Shirley White]

Very thorough and interesting series of essays that elucidate the character, pursuits, and achievements of the great scientist and theologian, without ignoring his follies and shortcomings. I learned a great deal from reading it, not the least of which was some appreciation for his association with the most famous figures of the great republican revolutions of his times in France and North America.
