The book presuposes a background in Measure Theory and some Functional Analysis.

We used it at a summer course (IMPA Functional Analysis 2023) complemented with another more acessible book and I must say I really liked the combo. We could enjoy a wide veriety of exercises and still get a good grasp of the underlying theory.

Brezis on its own makes for a poor introduction to FA as most of the exercises are very specific and shed little to no insight in FA.

I must also say some of the problems at the end of the book are very fun (there is an exercise section after each chapter and a long list of problems at the end of the book)
