“There are two ways to be fooled. One is to believe what isn't true; the other is to refuse to believe what is true.” – Soren Kierkegaard.
He’d kept his head buried in the sand long enough.
By having remained willfully ignorant, he’d lost something dear.
Haunted by his uncle’s cruel life lesson, Ezra is determined to unearth the truth. And not just any truth, but the truth surrounding his uncle—if he can even call him that.
However, truth is a fickle beast, and Ezra’s quest to find answers unlocks inexplicable abilities that incur the attention of enemies who seek to destroy him. Already having to navigate the cutthroat society of aristocrats, who consider him a mere obstacle to the throne, Ezra has to rely on his uncle to stay afloat.
But Ezra doesn’t know if he can trust this new version of Josiah. With the blindfold no longer obscuring the harsh realities, Josiah’s ulterior motives become painfully evident.
Amidst all the chaos and uncertainties, Ezra couldn’t be surer of one thing:
He would have no part in fulfilling Josiah’s master plan.
I am Avery Hendrex, author of the Triloka Series, an M/M Fantasy Romance.
I’ve always enjoyed reading fantasy, but I found myself constantly looking for that perfect novel. When my searches proved futile, I began writing the stories I’d always wanted to read. I tend to focus on character development and the not-so-typical romance with just the right amount of antagonistic attraction. I love twists, turns, and epic plots. Action and politics are a must. Mostly, I love putting my main character through as many trials as he can reasonably endure and exploring how those trials impact him.
Triloka is not a traditional series. I consider it one (incredibly long) epic fantasy separated and divided into different 'Parts' of Ezra's journey. Currently, there are five parts planned for the Triloka Series. Please check out my website for updates/teasers on the series!:
Part I: Immune Part II: Inferior Part III: Imminent Part IV: Immortal (2026 release--TBA) Part V: Infinite (TBA)
5 🌟 I need this book injected through my veins. Omg the plot , characters, world building everything was phenomenal. Micah is one of the best written character I've read so far. I need more. The friendship between everyone is just beautiful. And the character development just as beautiful.
This book focused a lot more on the politics 9f their world and I loved it!! There wasn't a moment where I felt bored with the book and the tension between Ezra and Agni had me reeling!
I do wish we got to see more of Ezra being active in this book but I understand how necessary it was to his journey to taking the crown. Super excited to read the third book!
When your kind of uncle is kind of a displaced monarch, kind of betrayed you and killed your BFF & is kind of maybe possessed by a daemon buuuuut you’re still ✨into✨ it 😉😈🔥
Anyway, I love this book. It should be required reading for any author who wants to attempt meddling gods bc I honestly don’t think you can do it better. The world building is both intricate and accessible, I can picture myself there in a way I sometimes struggle to in fantasy settings. Micah is a smart & likeable protagonist who is unravelling things right along with the reader (ily bb 😘). The side characters are interesting and well-developed and we must protect Kai at all costs. And the TENSION. Omggggg.
Ps. Happy to report there is zero incest 😉 Pps. Are we meant to be suspicious of the chocolates??? Bc I sure am.
A genius sequel to a genius book. This story continues to stun me with its brilliant characters, intricate plot and just gorgeous lore and world-building. I fear it has consumed my soul more than I’ve consumed the book. I was so not ready for the twists and revelations in this book, i must have highlighted hundreds of paragraphs. Everything is just so well thought out and captivating. God and the slow burn… just so well done. Again, I love every single character, everything single plot line, every single word written in this goddamn book UGH this is what being alive is FORRRR. Thank you for writing this.
I LOVE IT!!! Definitely Part I and Part II are some of my favourite books of the year, I absolutely love Ezra and everything that he is has a character, the ending just left me wanting more and I couldn't put the books down.
I found the books in a Reddit recommendation and started reading without any expectations but now I can't wait to know where things are going.
Does this author have any other works that are not on Goodreads or are these her first books?
What an ending! I don’t know how this series is so underrated, seriously. This is like gay Game of Thrones, no one is safe. Keegannnnn, I want him back!
This second part has clarified as many things as it has rose many questions. Agni's declaration had me at the brink of a heart attack, though. I'm dying to see how that progresses....
I keep coming back to this book like an addiction. It was unfortunate to see that they were removed off the sites they were originally posted to because of the official publication. However, I'm excited to see the author that could interweave and create a whole universe with in-depth knowledge of Hinduism finally receive the recognition they rightfully deserve. Not to mention, a complex LGBT+ relationship between the main relationship! I still have yet to find such a unique story like this one and hope it continues to surprise me with its plot twists.
This will probably be one of the first series of books I WANT to have as a physical copy on my barren shelves.
So much happens in book 2 and I was constantly in awe at how creative and masterful the story is. The inspiration taken from Hindi mythology was so enjoyable to read and it was perfect timing because I'd finished this book when I was on holiday in Cambodia. During that time, I had been on a tour to all the beautiful Hindi-Buddhist temples and listening to stories about Brahma, Vishnu, Indra etc. I was almost waiting to hear about Agni and Varuna and I was really vibing with how Ezra must have felt when he went on his political tour/travel.
I really love Ezra as a character, he is growing into his role as the Prince and needs to make all the hard choices that comes with that position. I loved his abilities and the incredible display of his powers in this book really fed my need for (violent) action. It's just so fun to read.
Another thing I wanted to add was that I've read books where the flashbacks are not necessary to the story, but in this story, it really offered clues and understanding of how a character has been developed. It really felt necessary to the story. The editing since from the first version has been amazing.
I'm super excited for Book 3, seriously can't wait to see what happens next!
too long IMO. The story focuses mainly on Micah's and Josiah's characters and stories. The plot isn't nearly as thick and complicated as the length of the book indicates. Unfortunately, I found myself a bit underwhelmed by everything that happened—it felt unoriginal and Micah remained a pretty passive character throughout the book. In addition, the romantic plot gradually became the same old 'possessive protector and his damsel' trope, and once they finally got to the kissing I didn't really care. The side characters were a nice addition, but that's all they were—additions. Their arcs didn't feel woven into the story and they deserved more focous.
Overall, I would've enjoyed the book much more if it were shorter because I'm a slow reader and nothing really happened between the 35% and 75% marks. What improved immensely, though, was the writing—I really enjoyed reading Avery's rhythm in her words.
- First of all Micah saving Kai and their hug actually broke me - Finally we get a kiss between Agni and Micah I AM SCREAMING - lots more new revelations have been revealed but also more questions. Again because of the nature of the story I can only review the series as a whole as this did feel like just a chunk of what is to come… - Also Micah being surprised at courting had me blushing
