The bestselling VEGAS THE PLAYBOOK series is now available in one complete set! Read Fumbled, False Start, Fair Catch, Forward Progress, and Field Goal by Amazon Top Ten Author Lisa Suzanne all in one volume.
As a pro football player, I’m known for scoring both on and off the field. But all that changes when a tragic accident leaves me as a single dad to a little girl.
With our lives flipped upside down, I’m struggling to balance my career with the emotional needs of a girl whose world has been shattered. Despite the long list of women I could turn to, none of them measure up—not when I see the undeniable connection between my daughter and her reading teacher, Victoria…the woman who happens to be my enemy.
Our constant bickering feels like some twisted form of foreplay, and she offers me one night to “get it out of our systems.” But one night isn’t enough, and when the worst happens, I turn to Victoria first.
It’s what my daughter would want, but it’s quickly becoming what I need.
Then one mistake sets off a chain of events I never saw coming—legal battles, jail time, and league punishments. But none of that scares me as much as losing the two most important people in my life.
I never imagined I'd find the kind of unconditional love I’ve found with my daughter and Victoria. But somehow I’ve fumbled it all and lost them both.
Now I’m rewriting the playbook and doing whatever it takes to win them back.

Lisa Suzanne delivers a compelling, emotionally charged sports romance in Vegas Aces: The Playbook, now available as a complete collection. This five-book series—Fumbled, False Start, Fair Catch, Forward Progress, and Field Goal—follows the intense and passionate journey of Travis and Victoria as they navigate love, loss, and second chances.
Travis, a star pro football player, has always been known for his prowess on and off the field. But when a tragic accident leaves him as a single father, his priorities shift. Balancing the demands of his career with the needs of his grieving daughter proves to be a challenge—one that no amount of fame, fortune, or football strategy can prepare him for.
Enter Victoria, his daughter's dedicated reading teacher—and his long-time nemesis. Their fiery clashes have always been laced with an undercurrent of tension, but when one impulsive night of passion blurs the lines between love and hate, everything changes. Their chemistry is undeniable, and soon, Victoria becomes more than just a reluctant ally in his daughter’s life—she becomes the one person Travis can't imagine living without.
But their love story isn’t without obstacles. A single mistake triggers a downward spiral, leading to legal troubles, public scrutiny, and the very real possibility of losing everything he’s fought for. With his career on the line and his heart at risk, Travis must rewrite his own playbook—this time, to prove that love is worth the fight.
With sizzling chemistry, heart-wrenching emotional stakes, and a swoon-worthy redemption arc, Vegas Aces: The Playbook is a must-read for fans of sports romance, enemies-to-lovers dynamics, and stories about love that defies the odds.
This is the complete series Vegas Aces The Playbook Dual narration - Callie Dalton & Lance Greenfield I really like these two narrators. The main thing I wish as usual is that it was done in duet. It would have made it just that much better.
Travis is a star player, known for his badish boy ways, sleeping around but he is always upfront with the girls that he’s not looking for a relationship. One night he gets an unexpected phone call from his parents and his whole world is turned upside down.
Victoria is in an unhappy relationship with her boyfriend but hasn’t admitted to herself yet. He’s all about his needs and wants. She meets Travis on a whime while she is still taken. Finding him attractive even when she is newly single she won’t go for him because his daughter now goes to her school.
I loved their love story. It felt real and relatable in so many ways. I really like that Lisa Suzanne is putting these Vegas aces series books together in one collection. It is nice to not have to jump from book to book. A seamless listening experience.
Building a family Travis and Victoria’s story is a big, emotional roller coaster journey. Their chemistry never wavers, but they must navigate many obstacles; secrets, trust issues, football commitments, a difficult ex, custody battles, and so much more, but family is at the centre of all they’re fighting for. Honesty, communication, love and commitment are king. With lots of hurts, doubts, regrets and insecurities pulling on your heartstrings, there’s also the sweetest family moments, and plenty hot and steamy ‘couple time’. It’s another wonderful example of Ms Suzanne’s exceptional talent for sports romance.
5 ⭐️ 🎧Audiobook : The Playbook Complete Series by Lisa Suzanne
I loved listening to this series in audio.. I loved how Callie Dalton and Lance Greenfield brought these characters to life. I was grateful to listen to all the books at once so I didn’t have to wait due to cliffhangers. These books can be an emotional roller coaster but it so worth it finish them.Travis is a pro football player who hits on Victoria when she is picking her boyfriend at the times food when Travis hits on her an also that night he finds out he is a dad and things change for him there. Victoria becomes his daughters teacher and things go from there.. I loved the Harper moments in these books.
Lisa Suzanne delivers an absolute touchdown with Vegas Aces: The Playbook series. This four-book journey is packed with all the highs and lows you crave in a sports romance—intense emotions, heart-pounding drama, and undeniable chemistry. From the very first page, you’re completely hooked, and once you start, there’s no stopping.
What makes this series stand out is how real the characters feel. Their struggles, their passion, their growth—it all unfolds in a way that makes you root for them every step of the way. The plot keeps you engaged with unexpected twists, sizzling tension, and moments that hit you right in the heart. It’s the kind of series where you just need to keep reading, desperate to see how it all plays out.
Oh my gosh! I don’t even know where to start with this series!!
It was so good! The heartbreaking moments, the gasp moments and the I really want to hurt him moments. Through all of it they showed that the love they have for each other is what matters, not running scared and facing your fears. I love that with the box set, I didn’t have to worry about the wonderfully known cliffhangers and waiting for the next story that it was right there next in line! Hahah!
If you haven’t already go back where this series started with Luke and Ellie and see how it all began!
This is the complete series which consists of the following :- Home Game Long Game Fair Game Waiting Game End Game Plus two short prequels. These are well written, easy to read, slow burn, football sports romances, with family, friendships, emotions, with enemies / loves, forced proximity, marriage of convenience, humor, witty banter, undeniable chemistry, and love, which leads to an entertaining, spicy, and fun, addictive page turner. I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.
This entire series is spectacular! I read it last year on a whim and this year decided SCREW IT LETS REREAD ! it’s an incredibleeeeeee and amazing love story between a newly (to him ) single dad & his daughter and love story between an actual couple - and they’re a POWER HOUSE ! They go through HELLL AND BACK but let me tell you they feed off of each other all three of them and they support each other even though they have moments where they want to all throw in the towel. This series is entirely worth the read and will not disappoint!
Victoria and Travis' stories all in one huge book! Taking us from their first meeting and sparks flying, to Travis learning about Harper's need for him to step up. Through peanut allergies, nanny issues, football, ex's, and so much more. We are getting laughs, drama, cute moments, and some super hot moments. I really enjoyed this series, and give this 5 stars.
This was such an interesting box set, but I was so glad I was able to get it this way, and not book by book because of the cliffhangers which I hate. This follows the life journey of Travis and how he was basically used by the older woman next door to achieve the pregnancy that she and her husband could not have due to her husband’s medical issues. So instead of keeping it to herself, he was young, at risk, and trying to achieve his goals and remain clean and sober. After all, that is why his high-power attorney-parents who were absent for most of his childhood by sending him to boarding school.
They never attended any of the things that were positive in his life like any of his football games from high school to the pros. The neighbor tells him she’s having his baby, but he’s not allowed to participate in the raising of his child. He was excited and then in her next breath she shattered his heart and ideas of having a real family. Which messed him up in so many ways. Football becomes his ticket out thanks to his high school coach and mentor. More of a father figure than his own father. Once Travis makes it to the pros it’s all about the instant gratification.
We see Travis’ transition from a womanizer to a kind, loving, and faithful father and spouse. Then out of nowhere his father contacts him telling him the neighbors were killed in a car accident, however, their daughter was left behind. Which turns out to be his and his parents had known and had been having a relationship with her. Even though he was drunk at the time he got the news, he stepped up and completely changed his life in a heartbeat. In fact, he evenly connects with Harper the night he finds out with instant chemistry.
They meet Victoria the night he hears about Harper is wonderful with her easily fitting into the role of being her, Buddy. Then later he runs into Victoria and instantly there are sparks of the sexual kind, and he asks her out. Now there’s Victoria and Owen who are such a tragic couple, he most definitely is not right for her. The misogynistic S.O.B. wasn’t right for her. She had to get out. And when she did, he showed his true colors by changing the locks, by throwing her clothing on the lawn, and not giving her back the baseball that her dad gave her.
This series is an awesome one, with a rollercoaster of emotions and arguments of how the characters should have handled certain situations. This is the clear enemies-to-lovers mojo working because at times Travis is moody as is Valerie, and they tend to treat each other badly. There is no cheating, but once the stars align, and they finally connect, it is pure fire! The slow-building connection of Travis & Harper is heartwarming. He’s not perfect, but he works hard, and his love is instant even as he struggles with how to display it.
The evolution of Victoria & Travis is a very special one. It’s a little heartbreaking to see them both struggle with their relationship being ‘real’, afraid of their feelings or what the other is feeling. Seeing this become a relationship of convenience was disappointing, but it did build the anticipation. One of their battles is the battle of communication, and the struggle for the public eye. This one hurt the heart, caused doubt, and put major fear first instead of love first. Seeing all the pieces of this puzzle come together when Travis stepped up his game, winning his girls over in an amazing last-minute grand gesture.
The book starts with the cliché of the forced approach, where Travis tries to flirt with and it goes wrong because she has a boyfriend. From this moment on, we learn more v and the way they handle all their problems. Travis? A tragic accident involving his parents' best friends changes his life completely, and now he must face a difficult situation. It's dad. And Victoria? She broke up with her boyfriend who, to no one's surprise, is a selfish, bad guy.
Is it enemies to lovers? No. Actually, they're not enemies at all, as the word truly means; they just don't get along at first, that's for sure. I'd rather be clear. There are no enemies. Another "negative" point is that the story is very long, even though it's five books in one. There are moments that are unnecessary or seem repetitive, even though this was already clear in the previous chapter.
The story has strong and weak points. Although the characters are well-developed, it's easy to empathize with them or hate them. There comes a time when the plot drags on too long with so much drama that, considering it was five books in one, it feels unnecessary. I did like the tension and not knowing what was going to happen, plus Owen's character was the most stressful part of it but so many episodes about the bad decision Victoria was about to make? Given their age, they handled the subject like teenagers, and I didn't like that. I have to mention the character development again. While I didn't really come to love Travis until book four,I found it easier to empathize with him from the beginning. A man who was only focused on his career and living life. Things change completely, for the worse? Most things, but you manage to keep going.Travis tried hard and proved that he is a perfect father to Harper, despite the adversities. I also want to mention how he was able to open his eyes and have a new perspective on his parents, realizing that they did the best they could, just like he did with them.
The five books are light reading, have simple vocabulary, and can be read in a single day, as I did. They are a lot of pages, though. So I recommend having food on hand, maybe some coffee or juice, and moving forward with these characters who have a lot of fun. If you like drama, don't worry. The romance isn't straightforward here, although you'll feel a tingle of joy at times.
This series wasn't for me, but it's good to read more and see how, little by little, the stereotype of the athletic man is shattered. We see a real reformation and an incredible change in Travis. Leaving aside what I didn't like about the book, it's a good "single dad" saga and about how we have to think a lot about what we're going to do because everything has consequences in the future, sooner or later, even if years pass.

I greatly enjoyed The Playbook. So many curveballs, and a great tension as we watch this marriage of inconveniences. Travis’ evolution from ‘womanizer without a thought’ to kind, loving and loyal father and spouse was somewhat miraculous. Victoria struggled a lot, mostly with her own desires. She had a hard time accepting the life of a footballer, and that seemed right on point. That would be a harsh life to live in the spotlight. But what truly made the story was the way they came together as a united front for their girl, they both put Harper first and that was beautiful. I especially was drawn to the shared reading impairment of father & daughter. We struggle with these issues at home so I really connected to the treatment and acceptance storylines. I enjoy Lisa Suzanne’s Aces world and this was a very entertaining compilation.
1: Fumbled Loving the insta-growth of Travis. The moment he found out, drunk or not, he stepped up and completely changed his life in a heartbeat. For a guy who admittedly avoided children, he connects with Harper instantly and is wonderful with her easily fitting into the role, Buddy. Victoria and Owen are such a tragic couple, he most definitely is not right for her. The guy is a total cretin. In fairness, Travis is a bit of a creep to her too but it is the clear enemies to lovers mojo working hard. I appreciate that there was not even a hint of cheating, but once the stars align and they finally connect, it is pure fire! The slow building connection of Travis & Harper is heartwarming. He’s not perfect but he’s trying and his love is instant even as he struggles with how to display it. 2: False Start I love that Claire doesn’t take any of his guff. She lays it out as it is and demands better. Things are starting to heat up. Both in the animosity and the chemistry, their anger is hot enough to start a fire. Throw in some family drama, an idiot of an ex who won’t stay down and a growing closeness between Victoria and Harper and you’ve got a tinder keg ready to blow. 3: Fair Catch Things are getting real. I am loving the evolution of Victoria & Travis. These two connect in a very special way. It’s a little heartbreaking to see them both struggle with their relationship being ‘real’, afraid of their feelings or what the other is feeling. Seeing this become a relationship of convenience was disappointing, but did build the anticipation so I’ll forgive it. Once again the cliffhanger leaves me grateful I am listening to a compilation of the series. 4: Forward Progress One step forward, two steps back. Things get brutally real for our growing family. Victoria & Travis battle many bad decisions, the battles of communication and the struggle of the public eye. This one hurt the heart 5: Field Goal Finally some good news. I truly enjoyed watching Travis step up his game, winning his girls in a fabulous last minute grand gesture. Seeing all the pieces of this puzzle come together in a fantastic manner was so joyful.
I cannot believe I listened to all five books in 2 days. Every book brought a new element and excitement that kept me wanting much more.
*Skip if you don't like summaries* Famous playboy Travis Woods runs into the first woman who piques his interest at a bar, and she turns him down so quickly he isn't prepared. However, that wasn't the thing that turned his life around. A little girl who just lost her parents and happens to be his biological daughter is now in his custody. Guess who happens to be a reading educator at Harper's (his daughter) new school, Victoria Hartley (bar girl). For the duration of the five books, we witness their relationship go from enemies to friends, with benefits to marriage of convenience to actual lovers.
I enjoyed the progression of these books. At no point was I bored. I was lucky enough to get an ALC for this series, and boy, can I tell you that the narrators did a fantastic job at portraying the MCs. It's dual narration, but you don't feel the loss of not having the other narrator's voice. Both voice actors picked up exactly where the other left off, and I think a lot of that has to do with the writing. The emotional plot and steamy tension while having a huge family aspect, I couldn't have asked for more. So, why the rating? The main reason I didn't give this five stars was the miscommunication trope. Travis did a terrible job ensuring Victoria felt love and was a part of a marriage. Victoria wanted a family and to be a mother, basically her entire life. And as soon as she got it, she pulled away, which bothered me so much. He groveled, and there was the little girl on the line. The whole reason she agreed to the marriage was 4 Harper. To file so quickly, without even talking to Travis, hurt my soul. I also just want to do a special shout-out to his parents. The growth of their relationship was one of my favorite things about these books.
I wrote some notes whilst I read this, so I'm just gonna leave you with those 🤭
> I cannot believe this guy just decided to open with a joke...at her parent's funeral...I'm dying 🤣🤣🤣 > Oh, my days if Travis isn't the most swoon-worthy man. He's trying so hard to be the perfect Dad, but he's already a natural > Harper, the "ready daddy," choked me up. I love her to bits 🥹 > I can't believe she ran away. This man said so my kid can't fucking read but finds other things 🤣 > I'm confused about how we are having feelings when they have barely had a conversation, but I'm here for it > We love a who did this to you moment!! > I understand why Victoria was upset, but she bothered me with her stubbornness. I was also disappointed that she never got to go to the club. > Oh, now that's a grand gesture. Get your girl, Travis! Lowkey kind of upset that he had to do all this to prove his love when he kept saying it over and over
Thanks to Valentines PR for selecting me for this ALC. And a HUGE!!! thank you to the wonderful author for writing this amazing book. THANK YOU!!! ❤❤❤
4.5
This book was a Rollercoaster. It was a journey indeed. I have read alot of books but this one brought me on a journey of so many emotions, sometimes I wondered what would happen between Travis and Victoria.
What I will first say about them is that their love is real and true and meant to last for a lifetime and more. But man I wanted to slap some sense into this man more than one time. I wanted to take him in a room, tie him up and make him realize all the crap he was doing because the way he approached certain situations was so easy to resolve but he took the most difficult ways out. And I get it, he thought that it was suppose to always be about football and everything else should revolve around it. But then he came to his senses and realized that family was the most important thing. And the way he did made it up to both Victoria and his daughter Harper warmed my heart.
Victoria and Harper's relationship was so precious. Those two no matter what happened between Victoria and Travis would stand the test of time. But I'm so happy that Victoria came around and was no longer scared of taking that leap, more times than once. I loved the fact that Harper was so strong and when she started calling him dad and her mom, my heart I tell you was swooning. They were beautiful. I also love the fact that Victoria stayed true to herself and kept doing what she loved which was teaching reading.
Overall I give this book a ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5/5. The book had its ups and downs but it every word and every second was worth it. There were times I just wanted to tell her to get get out but I was still rooting for them. This couple, they were realistic because they went through ALOT and survived. Also, can we talk about the fact that my first book or better yet series by Lisa Suzanne was the Vegas Aces: The Coach series and it started immediately after this series. The fact that I heard one of my faves Lincoln Nash's name and how Jolene wanted to get rid of him because they were childhood friends to lovers to enemies. I miss them so freaking much. I'm sorry I had to get that fangirling our of the way because I LOVE THE NASH BROTHERS! Anyway, Travis and Victoria were meant to be and I loved their banter in their enemies era and even in those moments you could see that they would end up together, I mean we weren't prepared for theis journey but it was fantastic and I loved them. The spice was spicing, they were electric.
I absolutely loved every second of this series. We are given characters that have intense moments, a strong pull to each other, yet there are obstacles and unexpected steps along the way. Travis being thrown in the deep end as a single dad has his life flipped around, but his heart... he steps up and will melt any heart! Victoria is a strong, brilliant woman that's been hurt, and she's leary of what's to come, yet she is perfect with his daughter. They have those ups and downs along the way, they are surrounded by amazing friends, and they have to dig deep to find what they really want! I'll be checking out this author's other books because I'm so curious about those friends!
Fumbled
Holy smokes! I have all the feels about this story! Travis has his life flipped when he gets custody of his daughter. The story was able to pull me into those feelings, his daughter's pain, and the way Travis steps up will melt any heart. Victoria and Travis have a ton of tension between them but that just adds to the sparks! I'm all in with this series.
False Start
The tension continues to build between Travis and Victoria. The story flows easily and I am loving the bond being built between Travis and his daughter, and how connected she is to Victoria as well. They are trying to navigate their new normal and working through what comes there way. I am loving how this story is building the relationships, the friendships around them, and so much more!
Fair Catch
Oh my goodness! The story just keeps getting better with some twists and turns and the spice is kicking up. I love Travis and Victoria, the relationship has gotten stronger but there are things that keep them on their toes, and me as well! It's a great series so far!
Forward Progress
This story has me so on edge and I cannot put it down! I'm all in with Victoria and Travis but these obstacles, the ups and downs... they are pulling at my heart! Their feelings have intensified, and they've had growth and stumbles. I am ready to dive in to the last book in this series.
Field Goal
This series has been a story full of emotions, ups and downs, and it has shown growth of the characters. There's been a strength that both Travis and Victoria have had to dig deep for. The story flowed, never let me go, and it all came together so well for me. Add in the friendships that they have, this found family that is always there, to lean on, and to push them along, they just have me wanting more of them as well.
I received a copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
This series is an emotional rollercoaster from start to finish, blending sports romance with deep emotional stakes, slow-burn tension, and unforgettable characters. It all begins when an NFL player’s carefree bachelor life is upended by tragedy—suddenly, he’s the guardian of his 10-year-old daughter, navigating fatherhood with no roadmap. Enter the FMC, a dedicated reading specialist with a complicated past with him, leading to an irresistible mix of animosity, tension, and undeniable attraction. Their push and pull kept me hooked, and just when things started to heat up—*boom*, a cliffhanger that left me desperate for more.
As the series progresses, the emotional intensity only deepens. The second book keeps the chemistry crackling as Travis and Victoria struggle to acknowledge what they already know deep down. Meanwhile, Travis bonds even more with his daughter, juggling fatherhood and his career while trying to keep Victoria at arm’s length—until they cross a line they can’t come back from. Just when things seem to be settling, another devastating cliffhanger raises the stakes even higher.
Book three introduces a new complication: a toxic ex-boyfriend determined to cause problems. His interference forces the couple into a hasty decision—one they would’ve made eventually but under much different circumstances. The tension skyrockets, leading to yet another heart-stopping cliffhanger that sets the stage for an intense fourth book.
And that’s where everything starts to spiral. The fourth installment is a gut punch—one thing after another keeps tearing them down. Between the third-act breakup, an angry daughter, and emotional turmoil on all sides, it’s the darkest point in the series. It feels like rock bottom, and I could only *hope* the final book would deliver the happy ending I was craving.
Thankfully, book five brings it all full circle. A grand romantic gesture solidifies the couple’s bond, and we finally get the victories they fought so hard for. The emotional payoff is incredibly satisfying, though I *really* wish we had seen more of the ex getting what he deserved. Despite that, this book was the perfect conclusion to an incredible journey—full of love, growth, and redemption.
If you love sports romance with deep emotional connections, fiery tension, and slow-burn goodness, this series is a *must-read*!
Wonderful collection Vegas Aces with beautiful cover! Love the complete series best move ever!

This is one of my favorite of the Vegas series and it’s because I loved the character Travis and the way he is with his Daughter, one who came into his life without warning and he did the right thing by taking her in and never stopped fighting for her to stay with him despite not knowing a single thing about parenting.
His relationship with Victoria however had me pulling my hair most times but towards the end I gave her a pass. But yeah this girl … lord. Have . Mercy. Sighhhh she drove me mad !
But all on all these two had a lot to overcome especially Travis who has so much to lose .. but this was the audiobook that made me took notice of Lance Greenfield and Callie Dalton, The two gave a fantastic performance they sucked me in and got me hooked right up to the end. Fantastic !
Listening this complete series straight was such a pleasure and I love it more!
Lisa Suzanne made the right choice making it a complete series with no waiting or interruptions. The Cliffhanger and waiting almost drove me mad. So yeah this was way better especially for my peace of mind.
Definitely recommend this series and hope you will enjoy it as I did.

The bestselling VEGAS ACES: THE PLAYBOOK series is now available in one complete set! Read Fumbled, False Start, Fair Catch, Forward Progress, and Field Goal by Amazon Top Ten Author Lisa Suzanne all in one volume.
This was a new to me series and I wrongly assumed it would be different players in each book! This is a series that follows the same couple all the way through and each book is really more of a novella length, around 250 pages or less for each. The audio is just over 24 hours and I really enjoyed this one! I think what struck me most about this series, is that, while the MC is a pro football player, he isn’t the star (at least not yet). Travis is determined to start every game in the upcoming season and I thought it was refreshing to see a different perspective in a sports romance and I really got a sense of how hard it is for a pro athlete, especially when he has to juggle so much in both his personal and professional life. On top of all that he is also the new single guardian to a 10 year old and all the new challenges that brings. The journey between Travis and Victoria definitely had its ups and downs, and I think with a complete series we got to see a lot more of their journey and that relationship are hard and what it takes to make them work.
The fire between Travis and Victoria is blazing from the beginning. The rock that fine line between I hate you and I want you. They are both strong personalities and sometimes bring out the worst in each other, but their relationship journey really shows them learning what it takes for a relationship to thrive and survive. The love the dynamic between Travis and Harper is so sweet. It is clear they have a connection from the start and I really enjoyed see that bond grow stronger throughout the book. This is definitely a series you will want to read from start to finish and the tremendous growth in all the characters for having you rooting for this sweet little family! I love that you can now get it all in one audio and seamless go from one story to the next! The narrators are the same throughout and did a great job bringing these characters to life!
TROPES 😈Enemies to Lovers 🧑🧒Single Guardian/Dad 🏈Football Romance 💍Marriage of Convenience 🔑Forced Proximity
ONE SENTENCE SUMMARY Travis and Victoria’s relationship is a tumultuous journey of growth, missteps, and undeniable chemistry as they navigate family struggles, public scrutiny, and their own fears, ultimately finding their way to a hard-earned and heartfelt happily ever after.
Lisa Suzanne's "Vegas Aces: The Playbook: The Complete Series" delivers a steamy and emotionally charged sports romance, perfectly suited for audiobook consumption. The narrative centers on a pro football player, grappling with single fatherhood after a tragic accident and his complicated relationship with his daughter’s reading teacher, Victoria. The audiobook format amplifies the emotional intensity, allowing listeners to fully immerse themselves in the characters' turbulent journey.
The dual narration effectively captures the push and pull of the protagonists' dynamic. The male narrator embodies the rough exterior and vulnerable interior of the football player, while the female narrator portrays Victoria's strength and underlying tenderness. Their voices expertly convey the simmering tension and eventual emotional connection between the characters. The bickering, described as "twisted foreplay," is brought to life with palpable energy, making the romantic build-up both frustrating and compelling.
The story’s strength lies in its exploration of vulnerability and unexpected love. The protagonist's struggle to balance his demanding career with his daughter's emotional needs provides a relatable and poignant backdrop. The introduction of Victoria, who initially serves as his "enemy," adds a layer of complexity to the relationship. The audio performance highlights the characters' growth as they navigate grief, attraction, and the challenges of blended family dynamics.
However, the plot, while engaging, occasionally relies on familiar romance tropes, including the "one night stand" that escalates into something more, and the "misunderstanding" that leads to dramatic separation. Despite these familiar elements, the audiobook's compelling narration and emotional depth elevate the story, making it a satisfying listen for fans of sports romance and second-chance narratives. The emotional roller coaster of legal battles, jail time, and league punishments is well represented within the narration and keeps the listener engaged.
Disclaimer: I received an advanced review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Travis and Victoria start off on the wrong foot but these enemies cannot deny their instant attraction to each other for long. This is a realistic sports romance with a single dad that doesn’t shy away from the difficulties of dating a celebrity/ sports start but gives enough spice (4/5) that your celebrity crush fantasies will still be alive. I received an advanced reader copy of this book from Valentine PR and the author for for free and am leaving this review voluntarily. I love the fact that Travis supports his “girls” right from the start. Even though finding out you’re suddenly responsible for a preteen is shocking and a definite struggle to adjust to, Travis immediately connects with Harper and steps up to the plate (even when he doesn’t understand how). The way he quickly alters his routine in response to her allergies will bring tears to your eyes (which having a family member with peanut allergies I certainly can relate to the difficulties that this brings about). He also is there for Victoria , especially with her devious ex, in ways that her own family are not ( I just want to smack her sister ). Yes he sometimes makes the wrong decisions (although there is no cheating), the fact that he owns up to it is book boyfriend dreams. Victoria, at first, was a bit harder for me to like, as she’s a bit obsessed with the image of what her life/relationship should be, creating some extra tension in the story line. She soon steps up for Travis and Harper, in a big way. This is a new author for me and overall I found the story entertaining with a good balance of heat, humor, and realism. I enjoyed the fact that while the attraction is instant there was more to their enemies-to-lovers relationship than a one night flip of a switch. The substance in that relationship helps these two strong main characters deal with the struggles I’m sure fame brings, yet their spice makes it far from a boring story. My only issue was the format as if seems that the main story was broken into multiple shorter stories then merged into one mega book, which for me was a bit weird ( although better than dealing with a cliffhanger ending),otherwise it’s a good sports romance. 4 star
I absolutely LOVE this series! And I love even more that you can now get Victoria and Travis’ COMPLETE story all in one book! You ever read a book about a couple you love and wish you could just get MORE of their story? That’s exactly what you get here. All five books, Fumbled, False start, Fair Catch, Forward Progress and Field Goal in one amazing set!
Travis is the NFL’s bad boy on and off the field, with a little black book that is always in good use. But, all of that changes when he gets a phone call in the middle of the night, informing him that he has a 10 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER, and is now solely responsible for her after a tragic accident.
Victoria is a teacher who is trapped in a craptastic relationship with a man who only cares about himself and his needs/wants. She meets Travis on a night out, and he is instantly smitten, but she rejects him because she’s in a relationship. He doesn’t take rejection well, and she becomes his enemy (not really…his ego is just wounded…men🙄)
They come face to face again when Victoria ends up being Harper (Travis’ daughter) reading teacher and support system as she navigates grief. Victoria, newly single, still finds Travis VERY attractive but keeps her distance because it’s her students teacher and that’s wrong, right? RIGHT?!?!? Wrong 🤭 These two can’t help but blur the lines when they fake date for a wedding. And let me tell you. There was NOTHING fake about it!
This story takes you through the ups and downs , emotionally roller coasters, funny moments, spicy spicy and everything in between of a REAL relationship. We see Travis grow up and become the dad Harper needs and the man Victoria deserves. And we see Victoria let her guard down and let go of the preconceived expectations she had set for her life and embrace Harper and Travis as her own.
It’s such a sweet, heartfelt story. I loved it so much 💕

⭐️ARC REVIEW⭐️ Vegas Aces The Playbook by @authorlisasuzanne 4.25 ⭐ / 3🔥🌶
I Loved that this series was about one couple across all 5 books. I absolutely devoured this series. @authorlisasuzanne delivers another emotional, sweet, hot and spicy story yet again. Travis and Victoria have a love/hate relationship, there is sexual tension, will they won’t they and yet they manage to find their HEA including Harper in the end. The slow burn, the character building the gut wrenching, heartbreaking and overall rollercoaster that this journey brings leaves you wanting more which is why it's perfect that this particular one is their complete story in one book.
Travis is the NFL bad boy on and off the field who is thrown a life-spiral when he gets a call that he has a 10 year old daughter he is now responsible for after a tragic accident. Victoria is a teacher who happens to meet Travis on a night out, but since she’s in a relationship she rejects him. But, fate is always at work and it's no different here. Travis and Victoria come face to face again when Victoria who is newly single ends up being Travis’s daughter, Harper’s reading teacher.
Lisa takes you through all the emotions in this book with these two, you’ll laugh, you’ll cry, you’ll blush. Its everything a real relationship has. Both characters grow, especially Travis as we see him transform from the bad boy to the dad that Harper needs and the man Victoria craves.
And of course Lisa is going to bring her signature trope to the mix with a fake date that ends up being anything but fake. It’s raw, it’s real and it’s the reading journey you didn’t know you needed until you reach the last page.

This Story over five books is pretty good and I love that it really takes the time to go over all the small details and doesn’t follow a three-act structure! And while I didn’t absolutely love this story in solo part to the FMC I did love the writing and storytelling that Lisa Suzanne does and at no part did I want to DNF this book even with the piece that I didn’t love. I did love see the other character and loved checking back in with Ellie and Luke, more so Ellie!! Loved Vegas Aces!! The FMC, Victoria, has a bad attitude between staying in a mentally abusive relationship and then being so cruel to the MMC which makes her at least currently unlikable. When Travis says her personality is a 1 I think as of at the end of book one this is true. I didn’t really enjoy her backseat parenting and she really had no clue what she was talking about a kid who just lost everything, deserves everything should be spoiled for a while. She seems to spend at least the first four books Angry or unsure even after marrying him. Then she gets an attitude when she finds out that her best friend gets engaged and is pregnant. She wants marriage and kids but she wouldn’t put in the work. Travis wants to fight for her in book five yet I don’t really see why… Loved the ride the MMC, Travis goes through he tries everything to be a good father and then gets put through one thing after another. I Loved the disability representation that both the MMC and his daughters have, and wish there was a bit more into this issue. I also enjoy being able to read the MMC’s daughter, Harper give process of losing her world and has to just constantly adapt to others' wishes. Lisa Suzanne does amazing work with very investing into her stories, and with the length you have to want to be very invested but her story even with pieces I don’t necessarily love are well worth the investment!
Thank you Lisa Suzanne and Valentine PR for selecting me for this ALC.
NARRATED by: Callie Dalton & Lance Greenfield. They did a wonderful job bringing life to the story.
So many twists and turns while this marriage of convenience develops into more. Travis’ growth from a ‘manwhore’ into kind, loving father and spouse was kind of a miracle. At the beginning Victoria struggled with her own desires for him and her fears while being with him in the spotlight. Oh and cliffhangers galore.
Throughout this series the amazing growth that Travis had from the moment he found out about the death, while drunk, he stepped up and completely changed his life. Victoria has her own relationship demons to battle. When they 1st meet there is an attraction that you can tell will burst into flames.
False Start. Victoria doesn’t take any of his crap and she demands better. As things start to heat up with animosity and the chemistry, it is hot enough to start a fire. Put a "few" road blocks in the form of family drama, a jackass of an ex who won’t stay away this are ready to blow. Meanwhile the relationships between Harper, Victoria and Travis grows closer.
Fair Catch. Things are more getting real. I love the growth between Victoria & Travis but it is sad to see them struggle with their relationship being ‘real’, instead of just a convenience. They are both afraid of their feelings or how the other is feeling.
Forward Progress. Everything gets way too real for the growing family. Victoria & Travis face the consequences ofbbad decisions, lack of or miscommunication and all in the public eye. This one was sad and to me dragged a little.
Field Goal. Finally do we get the HEA? Travis really was there for his girls and his his beautiful grand gesture was heart warming. Hearts and Harps❤️
Having been a background character Travis is now brought to the forefront. His story starts after a tragic accident leaves him as a single father to a child he has never met. Things don't go to well to start but then he meets Victoria and his life starts to change.
This is an enemies to lovers series where Travis is forced to grow up and leave his playboy image behind. Victoria is a teacher wanting to make a difference and when Harper is enrolled into her school she see's this as an opportunity to help a devestated young girl deal with the loss of her parents to the upheavel of moving to a new state and learning her dad wasn't her biological father but is in fact a famous football player with not the best reputation.
The chemistry between Travis and Victoria is hot from the first time they meet. Initially rejected by Victoria, Travis makes it his mission to hate her but in a sinful way and sparks fly after a rather heated arguement over her parenting skills. Adding to the mix Harper loves her and the help she is giving her
After a series of incidents Travis realises he cant live without her and one wrong move means he could loose both the women his life he loves. Redemption is on the cards and he needs to proove his worth before he falls out of favour.
This has to be one of my favourites in the Vegas Aces series and I love Victoria's sas and her need to care for Harper whatever happens. She knows what to sacrifice and when. Travis's story is one of character building and understanding of what life is about outside of football. We see his struggles to adjust as a single dad and life in general but with help of friends and family he gets there.
I received this as an ARC and am leaving my own review
I have fallen in love with the Vegas Aces series by Lisa Suzanne. I’ve read and listened to a couple of the Vegas Aces series in this universe. Now, I have started The Vegas Aces: The Playbook Box Set which is a five book series: Fumbled, False Start, Fair Catch, Forward Progress, and Field Goal. VA: The Playbook is the story of Travis Woods and Victoria Hartley. These two have chemistry from the start and fight it pretty hard even when Victoria becomes single again because she works at his daughter’s school. Fumbled focuses a lot on the developing relationship between Travis and his daughter, Harper, that he knew about but had no interactions with. I knew this was book 1 of 5 so a cliffhanger was inevitable and it’s a good one. I am enjoying the story very much. I am thrilled this series is finally in a box set because I prefer having access to the entire story all at once. As you progress through the story you will encounter steamy scenes, fun times, tension between characters especially from Victoria’s ex-boyfriend and a family wanting to take Harper away from Travis. I love how close Travis and Harper become throughout the series. Also, Harper falls in love with Victoria who helps her through some learning difficulties at school. Lance Greenfield and Callie Dalton bring Travis and Victoria to life. I listened to Lance Greenfield many times in the past and have enjoyed listening to him. Lance does not just read the story, he projects passion, emotion, and inflection with his voice. I have never heard Callie Dalton before. She does a nice job portraying Victoria. If you like football romances, single-dads, enemies-to-lovers, and multiple “books” before you get to the HEA then I’m quite certain you'll like Lisa Suzanne’s The Vegas Aces: The Playbook Box Set.
I swear Lisa Suzanne can do know wrong!! I'm so obsessed with her books and audiobooks. I can't get enough of them. She draws you in from the beginning and won't let you go until the end. Heck I don't ever want them to come to an end. I have to say she's my go to sports romance writer hands down.
This audiobook was narrated by Callie Dalton and Lance Greenfield. Let me tell you these two were the perfect narrators for this story. They held my attention and kept me entertained through the entire book. I really felt like I got to know the characters and I really felt the emotions Victoria was going through when she was telling the story.
Travis is a pro football player and his world is about to get turned upside down. When an accident leaves him with a daughter he's never known life is about to change in a big way.
Victoria is a reading teacher that is just getting out of a bad relationship. She is very dedicated to her students and when she gets a new student named Harper she is drawn to her instantly. Then she finds out Travis is her father and things get interesting!
There were moments in this book where I wanted to knock some sense into Travis and Victoria but it's worth all the crap they go through to get to the end. This story had me laughing, smiling, and left me with such a beautiful ending. There are some emotional parts in this story. I absolutely loved the relationship and bond between Victoria and Harper! Hart & Harps will have you smiling so much and believe in family being more then blood relations.
I would HIGHLY recommend this audiobook! Lisa Suzanne you are truly a master in the writing world and I'm so thankful for that!
Thank you Valentine PR for allowing me to listen to this ALC for my honest opinion.
