Chained Desire: Can't live with you or without you!

Rate this book

They can't live with each other, yet they can't live without each other. Marriage, often a promise of love, companionship and forever, was never a consideration for Armaan and Kiara. For one, it was a distraction from his ambition; for the other, a cage that clipped wings and fostered helplessness and dependence.

Armaan Kapoor, a self-made tycoon at just 30, thrives on the thrill of success. Only boardroom victories and relentless ambition fuelled his existence; marriage was never on his agenda. Love was an unnecessary distraction, and settling down was a detour he was unwilling to take.

Kaira Verma, at 23, has fought hard to build a life of independence. Raised by a mother who endured a painful marriage, she learnt early on that marriages could turn into shackles. She fearlessly pursued her dreams, refusing to allow anyone or anything to derail her from her chosen path.

But fate, meddling mothers, and unforeseen circumstances conspired to tie them together. Forced into a marriage neither of them wanted, Armaan and Kiara embarked on a battle of wills. He sees her as a challenge; she sees him as a threat to her hard-earned freedom. Amidst this chaos, sparks fly, egos clash, and an undeniable passion ignites.

Will they break the walls they’ve built around their hearts and discover that love isn’t about losing oneself but about finding someone who lets you be exactly who you are?

This book follows Armaan and Kaira, both deeply focused on their careers with no plans to marry anytime soon. But due to the constant push from their mothers, they end up tying the knot. Armaan is open to giving it a chance after their first meeting, but Kaira, still struggling with her past, refuses to let go of her rules. Yet, when she sees her mother genuinely happy after reconnecting with an old friend through this bond, she doesn’t want to snatch that happiness away. So, to keep her own boundaries and her mother’s joy intact, she comes up with a proposition for Armaan. Will he accept it? Where will their journey take them? You’ll have to read to find out!

I absolutely loved all the banter between Armaan and Kaira. Their constant bickering and teasing was so much fun—it kept me smiling throughout. Their dynamic was refreshing and full of life. And let’s not forget the side characters—Simmy, Raj, Aayesha, and Arjun—who added so much warmth and fun. Their friendship was full of love and laughter. I can already see more stories developing among them, and I’m excited to explore those too!

Both the aunties—Armaan and Kaira’s mothers—were total cuties. I loved them! They added a special charm to the story with their adorable antics.

The writing style was simple, engaging, and very easy to get into. I finished the book in just three sittings!

That said, the ending felt a little flat for me. The story had more potential, but a few loopholes and a slightly underdeveloped chemistry between the leads left me wanting more depth.

Still, as a debut novel, it’s a wonderful start. I’m really looking forward to more from this author.

If you enjoy the arranged marriage trope with lots of fun and heart, don’t miss this one!

"Chained Desires" is a simple, cute, and very enjoyable tale that follows the journey of Kaira Verma and Armaan Kapoor. Kaira is fierce, unstoppable, and just a little bit crazy, in the best way. She is ambitious, dreams big, and doesn’t believe in the idea of marriage. But for her mother’s happiness, she agrees to something she never imagined she would.

Armaan Kapoor is a smart, composed, and intriguing businessman. He is confident and focused, used to being in control. But when he meets Kaira, he finds himself completely drawn to her. It’s not just her beauty that captivates him, but also her bravery, elegance, charm, and most of all, her determination to live life on her own terms.

Their story isn’t just about falling in love. It’s also about personal growth and emotional healing. It shows how two very different people can come together, and how love can thrive through mutual respect and understanding. The way their bond develops feels natural, with playful moments, emotional tension, and real connection.

What truly makes this story shine are their mothers. They are warm, meddlesome, full of life, and bring both chaos and comfort to the story. They push the narrative forward, add humor and heart, and create some of the most memorable moments. Their presence adds emotional depth and a sense of familiarity that makes the story feel personal.

The side characters are equally enjoyable. Their best friends, the filmi Simran and Raj, bring a spark to the pages. Their interactions are fun and engaging, and they definitely deserve a story of their own.

Overall, Chained Desires is a wonderful read that perfectly balances emotion and entertainment. It’s a mix of romance, humor, drama, and family brought together in a way that feels both light and meaningful. It leaves you smiling and wanting more.

forced marriage romance done right! It is one of those stories that pulls you in from page one and refuses to let go—equal parts fiery, emotional, and heartwarming!

Armaan and Kiara? Whew. These two are walking tension wrapped in sharp words and slow-burning chemistry. He’s a brooding business tycoon with ambition in his DNA; she’s a fiercely independent woman who’s not here for anyone trying to “complete” her—because she’s already whole.

Thrown together by fate (and meddling moms—classic!), what follows is a rollercoaster of emotions: from hilarious clashes to soft moments that sneak up on you and melt your heart. The emotional depth, the character growth, the sparks flying—it all felt so real and so fun to read.

It’s got sass. It’s got spice. It’s got slow-burn romance that delivers all the feels. If you love enemies to reluctant lovers with layers of emotion and a side of chaos, you’re going to adore this one.

Roohanee has nailed that “can’t live with you, can’t live without you” vibe like a pro 🔥💖

Highly recommend for fans of heartfelt romance with bite.

"Chained Desires" is one of those romances that hooks you instantly with its messy, relatable characters and a premise that feels fresh yet comfortingly familiar.

Aarman and Kaira’s story starts as a classic arranged-marriage trope (thanks to their moms), but it quickly becomes so much more. Kaira isn’t just some cookie-cutter heroine—she’s stubborn, guarded, and fiercely independent, and I loved watching her walls slowly crack. And Aarman? Swoon. He’s got that perfect blend of charm and quiet intensity, the kind of guy who makes you melt when he’s patient but also roll your eyes when he’s being stubborn. Their banter had me grinning like an idiot, and their emotional moments? Chef’s kiss.

The side characters are everything—especially the moms, who are absolute scene-stealers with their meddling and heartwarming friendship. And the friend group? They brought so much humor and warmth to the story.

The slow burn was delicious, Roohanee nailed the balance of humor, heart, and steam.

Final verdict-- If you love slow-burn romance with witty banter, meddling families, and a hero who’ll make you sigh, "Chained Desires" is a must-read

Arranged Marriage but with contract ?? Sign me up for this rollercoaster ride.
This book had it all... Business Tycoon Handsome MMC and A beautiful strong ambitious FMC, when they are set for an arranged marriage by their mothers, they had no choice but to accept. But This was just a typical Arrange Marriage, it had a contract, that's how it all started and all by our FMC, and our MMC, Armaan was already head over heels for her, Kiara.
They felt for each other then fell apart and then came back together... And all this was an amazing experience. A bollywood movie that you love, it had that vibe.
Both our main leads were just wonderful and their banter, their chemistry was amazing.
Wonderful writing style too.
Simran and Raj were good too... I hope I see their story soon.
I just fell in love with the story. Wonderful.

They say marriages are made in heaven, but I say marriages are made by meddling mothers 😄😄.

Armaan and Kaira are poles apart when it comes to their personalities and individuality. At one point, they were not even aware of each other's existence, and the next moment, they were tied together in a sacred bond. It was a contractual marriage as Kaira needed her independence and focus on her career. Things got entangled, and Armaan fell in love with her in the very first instance, but he kept to himself to support Kaira.
No matter if their chemistry was the best. Still, that couldn't make them realize what they were missing.

For me, the story was like a combination of funny banters, untamed emotions, a group of best friends, two overly cute mothers, and a happily ever after. I loved the mothers, their enthusiasm, their wittiness, and their planning uffff they were just adorable 😍🥰. Simran and Raj came along as a package deal and they filled the story with their playfulness. Arjun and Ayesha's entry was at the perfect time. And together they all created a group of mad, crazy friends.

It is a cute love story with a hint of the past and a successful future.

I had the pleasure of reading Chained Desire in a single sitting, and I was captivated by the way Roohanee crafted her characters. Armaan and Kaira, bound by marriage yet devoid of love, were compelling protagonists whose journey kept me engaged throughout. Their first meeting—especially the memorable elevator scene—was a standout moment that I truly enjoyed.

Simran’s unwavering support for Kaira was another highlight of the novel. Her loyalty and friendship made her an endearing character, and I found myself wishing for a friend like her (coincidentally, I do have friend named Simran!) 🤭. Kaira’s habit of calling Armaan “Mr. Mumbai” was a charming touch that added depth to their dynamic.

The novel also delves into the complexities of marriage, particularly when past traumas create emotional barriers. Kaira’s struggles resonated deeply with me; her pain and the walls she built around herself were heartbreaking yet relatable.

Additionally, the portrayal of both mothers was heartwarming 🤍.Their unwavering support for their children added another layer of depth to the story, making it all the more impactful.

Overall, Chained Desire is a beautifully written novel with engaging characters and a deeply emotional storyline. It’s a must-read for those who enjoy romance with well-developed characters and heartfelt themes.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I picked up this incredible debut by Roohanee and couldn't put it down—I devoured it in one sitting!
🔗 The story was utterly engaging, pulling me in from the very first page. The characters, especially Armaan and Kaira, were captivating and kept me hooked throughout.
🔥 Armaan is the ultimate swoon-worthy businessman—hot, confident, and completely smitten by the feisty, independent, and stubborn Kaira. Their chemistry was off the charts, and I loved how their relationship unfolded.
🔗 Another highlight? The meddling mommas! They were absolute gems and added so much charm to the story.
🔥 And let's talk about the friends' gang! They brought so much life and laughter to the book. Whether it was teasing Armaan about his obvious obsession with Kaira or being her support system when she needed them, they added warmth and depth to the story. Their camaraderie made every scene they were in so much more entertaining, and I adored how they played matchmakers in their own mischievous ways.
🔗 And now, I need Simran’s story ASAP! That quirky girl had me laughing out loud. This book was an absolute treat, Roohanee! I can't wait to see what you bring next—I’m officially hooked. 💖

Ohhh gosh, this book has EVERYTHING! 😭❤️🤌🏻
I’m absolutely in love with it! From the very first page, it had my heart, and Armaan—oh, Armaan—you’ve completely stolen it! Why do you have to be fictional? 😭

Let’s dive into a quick review! At first, I thought this was just another office romance, but oh boy, was I wrong! Never judge a story by its first few chapters! 😭😂

One of the best things about this book is how beautifully the author captures relationships—not just romance, but the deep bonds between a mother, friends, and colleagues. It’s a perfect blend of emotions! 🤌🏻

Now, let’s talk about Armaan—the man who stood by Kaira through everything. ❤️ And then there’s Kaira, struggling with trust issues because of her father’s past actions. She finds it hard to trust men, but Armaan proves that not all men are the same. Their chemistry? Absolute fire from the start! 😍

If you’re looking for a book that makes you feel everything, this is it. Highly recommend!

♥️ARMAAN KAPOOR a charming man with his own characteristic features, CEO of the AK industries , who is a ambitious and striving for his career growth . He was not keenly interested in getting married or to get committed , but due to his mother’s nagging , he has seen more proposals but they were only interested in his money and wealth. One day his mother force him to meet the ONE who will he potential spouse for you she said, at last whatever he liked or not for his mother SUNITA , he goes to meet the girl. There comes KAIRA VERMA, pretty girl , who was equally ambitious, and independent striving to improve career and grow successfully , when SUDHA , Keira’s mother bought the proposal who was shocked and told her mother she is not interested in marriage because of her father(PAST HAUNTS), after so much struggle sudha made her daughter to accept it. So here the story beings, when two chaos meet in one place, and what destiny has kept for them? How they ended together?
♥️The author has taken the level of the story in a way that past trauma of a person and their perspectives of their life, the age gap and its immaturity, was well penned in the story , that they tend to be stubborn over their decisions and forget to see the real truth that not all the people are same. And on the other hand psychologically saying , when a child grow with a single mother or father they have certain traits, that could be changed only when their desires meet in place, you can’t change some traits in them like possessiveness if its mine , it can’t be others. We people always delve in our insecurities of the life , but when we committed we will tend to put our insecurities , doubts and fear over the other person which makes the life complicated. ♥️So people out there we make have insecurities , doubts, trust issues , fear etc , before we are taking a partner for ourselves, try to control and cure your inner self , your all if’s should be cleared in you , to see the things clearly on other side, it will not come automatically but through practice and recognizing your needs you can clear them.

"Chained Desires" by Rohanee is a delightful Desi romance, built around the ever-popular "he fell first, she fell harder" trope.

The story revolves around Armaan, the alpha hero as the CEO of AK Industries. He firmly believes that women are only interested in him for his money, leading him to avoid any form of serious emotional commitment.
Opposite him is Kaira, a bright and ambitious MBA student. Her aversion to romance isn't a passing whim; it's a deep-seated conviction born from witnessing the painful fallout of her parents' failed marriage. She is pouring all her energy into her studies and her goal of achieving complete financial and personal independence. Her career is her priority, and she has no time or desire for the complications of a relationship.

When these two guarded hearts are thrown together, their initial resistance is palpable. The plot moves at a fast, enjoyable pace, forcing Armaan and Kaira to confront their own prejudices and fears. A significant strength of this book is the dynamic between the leads. Their relationship is forged in a fire of witty banter, playful teasing, and sharp-tongued roasting. This sparkling dialogue feels authentic and is the primary driver of their undeniable chemistry, allowing the reader to watch their walls crumble in real-time.

What truly elevates "Chained Desires" is its cast of supporting characters. In many romances, side characters serve as mere plot devices, but here they are as well-developed and compelling as the leads. They add texture, humor, and a sense of a complete, lived-in world, making Armaan and Kaira's journey feel more grounded and impactful.

Overall, it is a fast-paced and heartwarming read. It delivers exactly what it promises: a charming story of two people finding love where they least expected it, packed with emotional tension and witty exchanges. It's a perfect read for fans of Desi romance, enemies-to-lovers dynamics, and stories where the side characters shine just as brightly as the stars.

'Chained Desires' is as the name suggests, a tale of desires and emotions, chained to the threads of past traumas. This is a masterfully crafted story of connection, longing, pain, and eventually eternal love. The story is so well written that you feel fully immersed into it from the beginning rooting for the characters.

Our MMC, Armaan is the greenest flag ever. He's understanding, caring, loving, and respectful. He respected our FMCs wishes beyond all the measures. He has gone to lengths for her which are impossible for any normal person. Just so she can be Happy and content. That kind of devotion is what i truly crave. I'm hopelessly in love with him now. He's such a lovable character that leaves everyone smitten with him.

Our FMC, Kaira is such a strong female lead. Despite having scars, she emerges from it like a phoenix from the ashes. She's independent, strong, has family values and is a great friend. Her character development is truly remarkable. The way the author has shown her journey from vulnerability to opening up her heart for Armaan, despite the walls she's built around it due to past traumas left me utterly impressed.

Besides the main characters, I deeply adore the side characters with Simi being my favourite. She's the kareena kapoor from K3G. Fun loving, desi, chaotic and pure hearted. Her dialogues had me laughing out loud, and I would absolutely love to see her story unfold in a separate book.

The pacing of the book is well-balanced, with a perfect mix of humorous moments and heart-touching chemistry. The love between the leads radiates off the pages, filling my heart with joy. And I absolutely loved both the moms in this book.

This book contains so many green flags and a unique happy vibe. It's been so long since I've read something that has left me feeling so positive and calm. 'Chained Desires' is a must-read for anyone looking for a beautifully crafted love story that leaves your heart warm by the end of it.

Book review: Chained Desires: can't live with you or without you! ... By Roohanee

Rating -⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐/5

This book? Totally worth it. Romance? Perfect. Chemistry? Perfect. Fiery banter ? Worth it. Characters that are full of humor and make u laugh? Absolutely 💯.

This is maan and kaira's story , both have a similar perspective about marriage— both are opposed to it. Though their mothers turn out to be the match maker fairies and to make them happy, they get marriage albeit on some rules and conditions. Love is never straight and organised, it's messy and full of chaos and Author has portrayed it beautifully through the story.

Armaan and kaira's story is just like that — full of banter ,chaos of feelings and simran and raj's refreshing humour<3
This is the kind of book that makes you mushy-gooey inside and leaves you with satisfaction at the conclusion.
.
Armaan is a total green flag , the kind of guy every girl wishes for and kaira's character is admirable and understanding and their besties! Simran and Raj are two sweethearts that made the story even more worth it .
Not to mention their mothers- Sudha and Sunita , their friendship and their love for their kids. Author has portrayed friendships, mother-daughter, mother- son relationship beautifully without any hitch.

Side characters are lovely, Main characters are lovely, plot is there but it isn't too complicated and drama doesn't stretch that long to bore you , it's just the right amount to hit you right in the feels plus there are so many stunning quotes at the start of each chapter here and there . Alot of lines that will make you grin .

I loved this book alot. It's full of familiar love that feels like home. A desi romance that is actually worth it 💖

What happens when two people who don’t believe in marriage… get married? 👀✨

Chained Desires is a charming debut that blends romance, humour and emotional depth. It follows Kaira Verma an ambitious, independent woman who has sworn off marriage and Armaan Kapoor a sharp businessman who avoids emotional entanglements. Both carry past scars Kaira from her mother’s failed marriage Armaan from women who saw him only as an ATM. Neither believes in love, but their meddling mothers have other plans.

What begins as a marriage contract with strict boundaries slowly turns into a tender, slow-burn love story. Their banter is witty, their silences carry weight and their gradual emotional unraveling feels real and satisfying. Armaan’s brooding intensity and Kaira’s fire and vulnerability make them both flawed yet relatable.

The true show stealers however are the mothers. Their warmth mischief and long lost friendship add humor and emotional resonance making them unforgettable. Supporting characters like Raj and Simran sparkle with filmi charm (and deserve their own spin-off!), while Ayesha and Arjun hint at future romances.

What sets this story apart is its honesty. Love isn’t painted as perfect it’s messy, inconvenient and transformative. Roohanee captures that beautifully writing with freshness warmth and just the right amount of chaos.

🌟 Why I Read This
I was drawn to this book because I love character driven romances where love isn’t instant but earned through trust, conflict and healing. The idea of two people who don’t believe in marriage being forced into one instantly intrigued me and the story delivered far more than I expected.

In short, Chained Desires is not just a romance it’s a warm hug laced with sarcasm, family drama and emotional depth. Highly recommended for fans of slow burn, heartfelt love stories that leave you smiling and wanting more.

They didn’t choose love—love chose them.

Chained Desires, the debut novel by Roohanee, is an engaging journey of two fiercely independent individuals who find themselves bound in a marriage neither of them chose nor wanted.

Armaan Kapoor is a sharp, strong-headed businessman who has no interest in emotional entanglements. Love, for him, is a distraction. Enter Kiara Verma—a passionate, freedom-loving woman who has grown up wary of marriage due to past trauma. When these two collide, sparks fly. Despite having a contract outlining strict boundaries, their chemistry is undeniable. Armaan, who thrives on challenges, makes it his mission to break every rule in that contract. But will he succeed? You’ll have to read and find out!

I have to mention the real game-changers in this story—the mothers of the protagonists. Their long-lost friendship and secret scheming to9 unite their children add a delightful dose of drama and heart. They’re a full package of entertainment and just might be the most responsible for how the story unfolds.

The supporting characters, like Raj and Simran (who absolutely deserve their own book!) and Ayesha and Arjun (another potential couple in the making), add depth and charm to the narrative.

What makes Chained Desires stand out is its refusal to present love as a flawless fairy tale. Instead, it’s portrayed as a journey—messy, challenging, and ultimately transformative. Roohanee strikes a lovely balance of drama, humor, and emotional realism, creating characters who are flawed, relatable, and impossible not to root for.

With well-paced storytelling and a warm, heartfelt tone, this book is a treat for readers who enjoy slow-burn romances and stories where love blossoms through trust, conflict, and mutual respect.

This is a beautiful story of two very different people brought together by fate 😍💖.

Armaan Kapoor is a 30-year-old successful businessman who believes that love and marriage are just distractions. For him, success, ambition and achievements are what matters. On the other hand, Kaira Verma is a 23-year-old young woman who has struggled a lot to create her independence. After watching her mother suffer in a painful marriage, she is determined to never let anything or anyone control her life.

Both Armaan and Kaira have strong reasons to stay away from marriage, yet destiny has other plans. Circumstances and family pressure push them into a marriage they never wanted. Their journey is filled with misunderstandings, arguments and unexpected moments of passion.

The author has portrayed the emotions of both Armaan and Kaira so beautifully that you can feel their anger, confusion and slowly growing affection❤️‍🔥. Also, the author has mentioned the beautiful bond of friendship🤌🏻❤️. I loved how Simran and Raj supported Kaira and Armaan in their toughest times, making the story even more heartwarming with a little bit of drama💕✨.

The story also explores important themes like freedom, trust, emotional healing and what true love means🫶🏻✨. What I liked about this book is that it gives a beautiful message that, love doesn't mean losing yourself but finding someone who accepts you the way you are❤️.

I love the writing style, it's simple and smooth. The most interesting thing is that every chapter starts with a quote🌸🧡.

If you like emotional, slow-burn romances with strong characters and a little bit of drama, you will love this book🩷🤍.

Chained Desires : Can't Live With You OR Without You!!

Chained Desires by Roohanee,
I’m still in the emotional twister that is Armaan and Kaira’s life book. This book beautifully captures the themes of love and the turn of relationships. Armaan Kapoor, a billionaire, and Kaira Verma, a independent woman, are forced into a marriage by their mothers(Aunty), who have been good friends. Though there exists misunderstandings at first, the unspoken spark between them soon grows into something deeper.

As they initiate their new life together, they're developing misunderstandings, insecurities, arguments, but moments of openness shape their journey together. Roohanee neatly describes their evolving bond, emotional healing, and the true meaning of love. The chemistry between Armaan and Kaira is notable, making their slow-burn romance captivating. The supporting characters(Dost) are catchy. Raj, Armaan’s loyal friend, and Simran, Kaira’s companion, offer humour and warmth, adding a warm touch to the story. The interfering mothers occasionally bring familiarity to the plot.

What stood out most was the way Roohanee portrays the twists of relationships. Armaan and Kaira’s path is full of struggles, but their deep understanding and love ultimately proves. The story feels genuine and relatable as the author handles their emotional hardships with thoughtfulness. The engaging writing style and the reflective quotes at the start of each chapter adds extra layer of emotion. Chained Desires is a heartfelt and captivating read.

Review of Chained Desires.

Chained Desires is a thoroughly enjoyable and captivating romance that grabs your attention from page two and doesn’t let go. Roohanee masterfully crafts a story that keeps you turning pages, eager to uncover what lies ahead in the journey of Aarman and Kaira.

The slow-burn romance between the two leads is skillfully written, with sizzling chemistry that simmers and builds, pulling the reader in deeply. Kaira is a refreshing protagonist—independent, strong, and bold. You can’t help but cheer her on as she navigates her life with courage, even as you secretly wish for her to let go, trust, and experience the kind of love she truly deserves.

Aarman, on the other hand, is every romance reader’s dream—charming, intense, and layered. Roohanee has crafted him so beautifully that even as you root for Kaira, you also wish nothing but love and happiness for Aarman. Their dynamic is magnetic and emotional, keeping the heart invested in every turn their relationship takes.

The attention to detail in each scene is impeccable, transporting readers into the very world of the characters. Whether it's emotional tension or romantic moments, you can feel it all vividly.

A truly unique story, Chained Desires is a gem that stands out in the romance genre. Highly recommended for all who crave heartfelt storytelling and deep emotional connections. Roohanee delivers a tale that’s both powerful and tender

Armaan and Kiara’s story is the definition of “enemies-to-lovers meets arranged marriage with desi drama,” and I was hooked from page one.

Neither of them believes in love or marriage. For Armaan, it’s a distraction; for Kiara, it’s a trap. But when their matchmaking mothers step in and fate decides to have a little fun, the two are pushed into a marriage neither of them wanted… and let’s just say, sparks definitely fly.

What worked for me? The banter. The chemistry. The way these two constantly challenge each other, it’s fiery but never toxic. Armaan is a surprising green flag with a soft heart under all that ambition, and Kiara? Fierce, independent, and totally relatable. Their dynamic felt fresh, messy, and real.

The side characters (Simran, Raj, and both moms!) added so much heart and humor. I especially loved the way friendships and mother-child bonds were written, warm, layered, and genuine. And those chapter-opening quotes? Little gems that added depth to the emotional arc.

I think a bit more emotional tension in the second half could’ve elevated the payoff. Some key moments felt a tad rushed when they could’ve hit harder with a bit more buildup.

Still, Chained Desire is a warm, chaotic, slow-burn romance that delivers all the feels with a strong desi touch. If you love arranged marriage tropes, emotional growth, and swoony-but-relatable leads, you’ll devour this one.

When I started the first chapter, my exact reaction was — what??? what just happened?? It instantly hooked me, and before I knew it, I was completely invested in Armaan and Kaira’s world.

This book is the perfect mix of crackling chemistry, family chaos, and slow-burn romance. Armaan is that swoon-worthy, confident CEO who makes you melt, and Kaira is fierce, independent, and knows how to give him a tough time. Together, they’re pure magic — full of banter, tension, and those little moments that make your heart do a somersault.

And let’s talk about the meddling moms and nosey friends — usually, I hate people interfering in my life, but if the ones meddling can get me a hotshot CEO like Armaan, I’m all for it 😌. They added so much warmth, humor, and emotional depth that I couldn’t help but fall for their chaos.

Beyond the romance, the story touches on themes of trust, healing, and finding someone who loves you without asking you to change. It’s not just about falling in love, it’s about growing in love — and that message hit hard.

Roohanee’s writing is smooth, witty, and full of heart. Every scene feels alive, every character adds something real. It’s one of those books that make you smile, laugh, and sigh all at once.

If you love emotional, slow-burn romances with meddling families, teasing friends, and a chemistry that could set the pages on fire — Chained Desires is your next read. 🔥💞

This book is captivating, beautiful bitter sweet love story'. The story of Business tycoon Armaan & Kaira. Both are strong, independent, bold and wasn't ready to get married. Their first meeting was also chaotic. They couldn't bear eachother.

It' was their mothers who arranged their marriage as they both were best friends.
Armaan is a self made billionaire. He is tough man but soft from inside. kaira also same. She shows she is strong bold but deep down she needs love care too.

So you can say their marriage was destined or more like to say they are destined by their mothers. After marriage all over was going well but somehow not all story easily have a happy ending. A clash appeared between them. They were seperated from eachother. But you know destined people always come together no matter what. They can't see eachother but also can't live without eachother.

Eventually they have come together. But it wasn't not easy. The inner turmoil, the misunderstanding, the seperation all were at their peak. I love the way author showed the emotions, feeling, pain, their love.
Also love the character of both their Best friend's. Raj & Simran. Their role were also perfect. Not to mention the mother's roles. They make them understand their love for each other. Their advice also guided them. Overall this book is a good read. Loved reading this book.

Chained Desires is a story of how Kaira fights her past demons and embraces the love of Armaan. The story follows Kaira, a strong woman studying MBA and determined to be independent and achieve her dreams and ambitions. Then comes Armaan Kapoor, CEO of AK Industries, the same place where Kaira is offered a job. The story truly begins when they are scheduled to meet in an arranged meeting set up by their mothers. Kaira doesn’t know Armaan, and their banter-filled meet-cute had me laughing, first in the elevator and then at the coffee shop, when Armaan realizes she’s the one he’s supposed to meet but she still has no clue.

Armaan says yes to the wedding because he’s completely smitten by her sass and attitude, while Kaira agrees just to see her mother happy, entering into a marriage contract with him. Yes, a legit contract. But destiny, or to be specific Armaan, has different plans. They fall in love, but both are too stubborn to confess.

The story is a wonderful mix of emotions and playful banter, whether it’s between Kaira and Armaan, their best friends, or even their mothers. And oh my god, the mothers are my favorite characters, the cutest masterminds ever.
And now, I can’t help but want Simran and Raj’s story too. Their small moments in this book were so cute and full of potential, I already know I’ll love their story when it comes out. Please, Roohanee, make it happen!

Armaan Kapoor and Kaira Verma had one thing in common and that's their dislike in marriage. Being a Business tycoon at an early age of 30, Armaan's happiness lied in boardroom victories and fulfilling his ambitions. Kaira Verma was 23 and in the final days of her MBA graduation, striving to grow independent after watching her mother's painful marriage.
While one of them thought marriage was a distraction from their ambition, the other labelled it as a cage of helplessness and dependence.
None of them were ready but what happened when fate along with their meddling mothers left no chance but to tie them for eternity? Forced into the marriage, would they break the walls around their hearts and able to see that love was all about letting someone be as how they were?

The book started from the present gradually narrated in the past till the final conclusion which goes back to the present. I personally liked Armaan character out of everyone and the book resembles a Bollywood style movie or gives Indian opera vibes at times.

The conclusion part of the book was the most interesting for me as it showed how expressing feelings could change everything.

Overall, I recommend this to everyone who enjoy marriage of convenience romances.

Those who know me or have read my books know that I gravitate towards emotionally intense stories, both as a writer and a reader. But every now and then, I crave a breather, something lighthearted yet engaging. Chained Desires by Roohanee was exactly that, a feel-good romance that made me laugh, smile, and enjoy every page.

This is the charming story of Kiara, an ambitious young woman determined to chase her career dreams, with zero interest in settling down. Enter Armaan—a successful CEO who fiercely guards his independence and has no plans of getting married anytime soon. But when their desi mothers step in (cue the classic emotional manipulation, dramatic ultimatums, and well-meaning chaos), Kiara and Armaan find themselves reluctantly tied together in a marriage neither of them wanted.

What follows is a delightful journey of awkward beginnings, unexpected chemistry, and heartwarming moments as they navigate their new reality. The banter is fresh, the pacing keeps you hooked, and the cultural nuances add so much authenticity and charm.

If you're in the mood for a sweet, entertaining romance with just the right amount of drama and desi flair, Chained Desires is the perfect pick-me-up.

Chained Desire: Can’t Live With You or Without You! by Roohanee is a captivating desi romance novel that beautifully encapsulates the simmering tension between love, ego, and destiny.

Armaan Kapoor is a thirty-year-old business tycoon who has worked his way to the top and believes that emotions only hinder him from his goals.

Kaira Verma is just twenty-three but has learned to be bold and free-spirited—she has proclaimed never to be married like her mother was. But fate (and its equally stubborn mothers) has other ideas.

What begins as an arranged marriage turns into all-out warfare of the heart. Armaan and Kaira could not be more different Armaan is rational and Kaira is emotional; he fits in a box while she will fight for her freedom. They have even more chemistry than discord across every fight, stolen glance and every moment challenging their pride. Beneath it all, they are both learning to trust, to forgive and to love without losing their identities.

As Chained Desire leans into its sass, heartbreak, and slow-burn romance, its enormous emotional rollercoaster delivers on its initial promise a story about two strong individuals realizing that love doesn't break you; it reshapes you.

Sometimes, love stories begin long before the couple ever meets and in Chained Desires, it all starts with two mothers and their unshakable bond. Sunita Kapoor and Sudha have been best friends for years, and when fate brings them back together, so does an idea that changes everything, what begins as a plan between two mothers slowly blooms into something neither Armaan nor kaira excepted.

What follows isn’t just a tale of an arranged marriage but a beautifully layered story of two people who never planned on falling in love. Armaan , the ever composed businessman with quite strength while Kaira, the independent women still learning to trust her heart yet scarred by her past. Find themselves navigating a marriage they never wanted. Yet slowly Together they stumble, clash, and slowly uncover what it means to trust and belong.

Their chemistry sparkles, their banter brings laughter, and their quiet moments heal something deeper. the gentle magic of love finding its way even through walls built high.

Chained desires is more then just a romance, its about healing, family and the small ways love grows when you least expect it. a story that leaves you warm smiling and just a little bit hopeful💗

A must read book by Roohanee. Armaan Kapoor, a self-made tycoon at the age of 30, lives on success. Only business successes and unwavering ambition powered his existence; marriage was never on his plan. He would not take the detour of getting married, and love was an unnecessary diversion.

Kaira Verma, 23, has worked hard to establish a life of freedom. Raised by a mother who had a difficult marriage, she learned early on that marriages might become chains. She boldly pursued her ambitions, refusing to let anybody or anything divert her from her chosen path.

But their paths met when their mothers planned their marriage, and they had to see each other as utter strangers. Their first encounter is in an elevator. When they first met, he fell head over heals for her. It got more difficult when they consented to a contract marriage.

Dove into the narrative of how their lives intersected with one another. They love each other but cannot declare because of their fear. Relationships are made in heaven but their made in elevator. Finally, they marry and enjoy a happy life.

Chained Desires is an emotionally and gripping tale that dives deep into the complexities of love, pain, and redemption. Roohanee brilliantly crafts a story that is both deep and heartfelt, keeping the reader engaged from the very first page. Talking about the narrative, it flows smoothly, and the character development is one of the strongest aspects of the book.

The Character's emotional struggles and inner battles are conveyed with raw honesty, which makes it easy to connect with their journey. Each chapter peels a back layers of the characters, revealing secrets, vulnerabilities, and desires that are anything but ordinary.

What sets this book apart is its balance between "passion and emotional depth". The writing is vivid, the dialogues are powerful, and the chemistry between the leads feels incredibly real. While some moments feel heavy, they add to the overall intensity and richness of the plot.

If you're looking for a story that offers more than just surface level romance something that explores the darker sides of love and healing - Chained Desires is a must-read.

Chained Desire — a story that burns slow but leaves scars. The kind of romance that’s wild, messy, and heartbreakingly beautiful. Maan and Kaira? Two souls who don’t believe in marriage, yet fate ties them together with threads neither can break.

Their love isn’t perfect — it’s chaos, it’s laughter, it’s arguments that taste like passion. The chemistry? Off the charts. The banter? Deliciously sharp. Every page drips with emotion and tension that keeps you hooked till the end.

Armaan is that rare green flag in a world full of red — gentle, strong, and absolutely swoon-worthy. Kaira’s strength lies in her chaos; she’s fierce, vulnerable, and entirely unforgettable. Together, they’re a storm you can’t look away from.

The side characters add warmth and humor, giving the story heart and depth. It’s not just romance — it’s family, friendship, love, and everything in between. A book that leaves you smiling, aching, and deeply satisfied.

“Love isn’t meant to be perfect. It’s meant to be real.”
