Thanks to BookSirens for a copy of this enovella - this is my freely given opinion.

Again, we are following along on the journey of the widows Lilly and Anne, as Lilly expands her sexual experiences. This is a very brief bit of historical erotica with a very loose story line of Lilly and Anne traveling to London to oversee the Season of Lilly's dead husband's ward, the orphaned, innocent Lady Jane. Lilly and Anne make up some wager/games with lists of sexual partners and experiences they want to engage in, and along the lines decide to test Jane's suitors, through seduction, under the guise of ensuring their actual devotion to Jane.

Again, mostly a series of sexual scenarios with a very loose, superficial storyline, and no real character development or depth of plot. Read it as purely a short piece of erotica.

This is a short novella about two friends who are introducing a young lady into London society for her first season as a debutante. In order to protect innocent Jane from the ton's rakes who would happily use and ruin her, Lilly and Anne hatch a plan, to "test" the men who show interest in courting Jane. The test-it is to see if they will succumb to being seduced by Lilly or Anne or remain faithful in their pursuit of Jane. I won't tell you the outcome of the test, you simply have to read for yourself.
I enjoyed this very short novella and look forward to the next installment in the Duchess Diaries series. It is very short but there is a lot of action packed into a small space in this story, and hot, hot, smoking hot scenes. I recommend for a few hours of If you enjoy short, extremely steamy, regency tales you will enjoy this one. Perfect for a afternoon quickie!!

Another delightful installment in this series, and this one appears to have also had a good proofreading before publication, as I didn’t pick up a raft of errors, like I did with the first two books. In this episode (they really are just short episodes, like a 30 minute raunchy sitcom in character), Lilly and Anne make a wager; each one has a list, Lilly of men she wants to have sex with and Anne of sexual positions she wants to try. Whoever achieves an item on her list first wins - or something like that. I wasn’t ever that clear on the terms of the wager - I suppose I wasn’t paying enough attention when I read that part. My focus of attention was on the sexy bits. And oh they were very sexy, those bits. The high point was when Lilly replicates a scene she observed in the previous book at Whitterfield’s. Great fun.

I loved this book. It is rare that you read a novella and think, "wow! I wish this was longer!" This was one of those stories. Usually, when an author has multiple heroines, one of the plots takes away from the other and it seems like an afterthought. Yet, the whole plot was written beautifully! Both heroines and Jane added to the story and didn't detract from it. I absolutely loved all 3 and would have loved to read a whole story about Lilly and Lindsey, he was the hero we all want.

The spicy scenes were especially well written and flowed nicely within the story.

Steamy short story.

In this new book of the series, Lilly relishes her freedom and experiences some of the fantasies on her list. Just like the other books in the series, it’s a very brief story with minimal opportunity for character development. Once this fact is known, it remains a good, steamy short story. If you want to learn more about Lilly, the main character, I recommend reading the series in order.

Ladies, ladies, Wicked indeed! A great short easy read. This book is hot. The naughtiness leaps right off the page and pulls you into the story. The wagers between the Duchess Lilly and Lady Anne are made of a desire to fulfill all their fantasies and a couple of mine too. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this novella. It was my first time reading a book by this author and I look forward to reading many more. I highly recommend this book.

This is a very short read where Lilly and Anne try to secure a happy match for Jane by testing each man to see if they are worthy. It is funny, heart warming and sad at different times throughout the story. It is so short that is no time to develop the characters but it is still a good read. I do love the cover.

Lilly and Anne get young, innocent Lady Jane prepared for her very first ball with eligible men. Jane is very excited to dance with potential suitors, however, she’s unaware that the crafty women have a wager and that they have devised a plan to “test” the men on Jane’s dance card.

Although the author mentions that widowed Lilly has born three children, there’s never a mention of them in her life!

You could easily read this as a stand alone, but I believe that you should just read the entire series as it's an ongoing plot line.

Are you ready for a quick and steamy read? Honestly, look no further than Violet Sinclair's Duchess Desires, a novelette series. Think of each book as selected chapters from a larger book. This is a deliciously debauched series.

The Wicked Widow is at it again! She quickly learns to not make wagers with her best friend, Anna, unless she is prepared to lose. However, in losing, she ends up gaining much more. Just another thing (or two!) to cross off her list. But, will someone be hurt in the process?

In my opinion, this is the most wicked book in the series so far! Newcomers to HR and lovers of sweeter romances beware- these stories are extra spicy in a variety of ways. This is not your average historical romance read.

I really must press that you ought to read this series in sequence and totality to "get" the entire, ongoing plot. Lilly's actions might not make a lot of sense unless you know more of the back story from the previous titles.
