Eight years of resisting temptation. One Silver Fox CMO. Now turbulence is about to change everything.
I've perfected the art of keeping my distance from Cameron Sinclair.
Sure, he's Manhattan's most devastating CMO—the man who makes boardrooms and bedrooms surrender with a single look. And yes, those knowing smiles and rolled-up sleeves star in my midnight fantasies.
But rules are rules. And "don't fall for your strategic partner" was at the top of my list.
Until turbulence throws me into his lap at thirty thousand feet.
Now we're trapped in a Nashville hotel suite while tornados tear the city apart. His heated looks are melting my control. His gentle touches are destroying my resistance.
He says he's been holding back for eight years. He says professional distance was never our destiny. He says he's done watching me run.
But as our passion ignites, tabloid scandals threaten everything we've built, and our future together begins to crumble.
Falling for Cameron Sinclair isn't just breaking rules anymore—it's risking my entire heart.
The main characters are great but the story is kind of disjointed. I’m confused why Olivia’s dad wasn’t treated worse after actually causing so many problems for her professionally. Am I missing something? The man actually colluded with her and Cameron’s rivals and he doesn’t so much as get a reprimand or a cut off? He treated her like an afterthought second only to her brother, was pretty of vocally misogynistic towards her career achievements and yet, somehow until the very end she still valued his opinion. I don’t get it.
Lastly, the whole Eric from Germany returning issue doesn’t feel resolved nor does the sabotage from Delaware. All of a sudden we get a proposal and then a marriage, the end. Everything else was forgotten. The chemistry between Cam and Liv was amazing, their communication top notch. Unfortunately, the weak plot really dimmed the vibe.
I lost interest half-way through. There was constant referencing to characters and situations that were not explained . It felt like coming into a movie that had already been playing for an hour. The MC were not well described. It was a shame as the book appeared to have potential. I have never been in a disaster situation where large hotels are being evacuated because of hurricane damage but I strongly suspect you would be able to easily access a takeaway meal with wine a short time after the " all clear" has sounded.( just a little hint for the author).
The romance was one thing. The endless pages and discussions regarding corporate entities and partnerships, investment espionage and the like were baffling I would think to the average reader and frankly ruined the relationship story itself. Know your audience. This just doesn’t fit.
Cam and Olivia have an intense chemistry that they fight for years. When they finally give in to it they are almost crushed by an enemy. The love story and the intrigue make this book exceptional. I highly recommend it.
This was a very good book. Though at times with so many characters it did get confusing. I would highly recommend this it had the spice, suspense, and it kept me turning page after page. A new author for me and I’ll read her again!!
