❤️🌏🛸GREAT TRILOGY !

BOOK ONE :

Montana, July 1986:

Horace Bennett was enjoying his evening after a tiring day, on the porch of his house, lost in thought, yet another cold beer in hand.

Seeing his cattle agitated, he went to see what was happening in his field...

‐---------------

If at first I was a little lost in the story and the number of characters, I quickly plunged into the events, the second half of the novel having become totally incredibly captivating!

I found the plot and the characters excellent.
The mystery that remains for a long time is almost unbearable.
We want to know and we devour the pages...

I can't wait to read the sequel!
Great start to the series !

############

BOOK TWO :

9 years ago:

Cedric was working on an audiobook.
He pressed pause and sighed. He was so tired...

Suddenly, he received a curious text message on his phone: "Black Iron, twenty minutes. C."...

Undecided, he wondered if he should go.
But his curiosity was too great...

-------------------

The novel starts off strong: a mysterious meeting with revelations. Then, we find the protagonists of volume 1 for the continuation of their incredible adventures.

A sometimes complex read, with a mix of past, present, future, and parallel worlds.
I sometimes had to rewind a few pages in my reading.

There are a few revelations and a lot of mystery in this second volume as well.

I was captivated by my reading, often wondering what would happen next.

I really like the backstory and the characters.

####################

BOOK THREE :

July 1986, Montana:

Heart pounding wildly in his chest, Farmer Horace sat there in the wet grass, mesmerized by what he had just seen.

He had witnessed the impossible, the unthinkable, the unimaginable...

And yet, there it was, in front of him...

----------------

A plot that remains as gripping as ever, with sometimes surprising revelations and captivating mysteries.

Some parts were a bit confusing for me, certainly due to the multiplicity of characters and the complexity of this realistic science fiction story.

Always an excellent read.
I recommend this series to fans of the genre.

positively unpredictable

Hystad is a fabulous storyteller who manages to keep me guessing and wanting to keep reading.

I mostly read at night and this series gave me some late nights as I tried to eke more minutes of awakeness out of each day trying to get more story in!

Even though characters in the book were predicting much of what would happen next it was still positively unpredictable.

Superb read.

This series was a blast to read. So much drama, intrigue and unknown in the story. Get to meet great characters and watch them try to figure out what was going on and survive it all. Compelling situations and surprises kept me guessing and reading as I watched it all go down and try to guess what was really going on as the characters survive The Glass. A great story and characters.

I liked the premise; that was different. It took me about a month to get through the series. As a result, it was confusing to follow which dimension/earth, visitors v. aliens I was reading about at times. It was have been helpful for me to have some of that included in the chapter title.
That said, though, I did enjoy it.

What a ride!

I don't know what say that won't give away too much. I just can't imagine going through all that.
Amazing story and great writing. This is the third series I have read by Mr. Just as and I am on to the next. I love the complicated stories and all the complex characters. Can't wait to start the next one.

This is a fantastic series that I really enjoyed. I would describe it as a character driven, post apocalypse sci-fi adventure.
There's a large cast with an ever changing storyline that is beautifully metered out.
Lots of action with copious character development.
Highly recommended.

Reflecting on The Glass

Fantastic as ever from Nathan Hystad! Could not put down and that goes for all his series of books. You’ll have to pay attention though because there are so many Cedrics in different dimensions it could lead to confusion….
Highly recommended.

new twist

I loved the series. It was worth the long read. A new twist on the alien invasion trope. I recommend it highly.

An interesting premise that bogs down with too many characters. Difficult to keep them in mind. Good action. Scary antagonists. Mystery all the way through.

A riveting trilogy different from most sci-fi

Very eloquently written story arc that keeps you turning the pages as you travel throughout the cities and small towns from the East to West coasts of the U.S.

Visceral protagonists find themselves suddenly alone as those around them have died overnight. They gather as they travel finding other survivors. Whilst avoiding The Glass and the aggressive, carnivorous aliens that have appeared, they gather. Not all survivors have the same objectives or mentality so the protagonists have to be cautious as well.

The dynamics that ensue between the survivors, The Glass and potential antagonistic survivors the protagonists find themselves fighting, doing their best to survive. Really takes you out there and keeps you hooked.

Who are they? Why have they appeared but, most importantly, what is The Glass?
