Allow two days (or an extremely long one) for this DARK, twisted, explicit, contemporary, enemies-to-lovers, mafia king, ruthless obsession, forced proximity, thriller, procedural, mystery romance, among the New York Bratva, featuring abduction, abuse, drugs, families, pregnancy, prostitution, spies, torture, trafficking, violence, and war, with a couple chortles along the way.

Wow. Just wow. I love a good mafia romance and this had all the things I love.

This story captured my interest and held it throughout the whole book. It was non stop guessing where the author was leading us to next.

I loved every heart stopping, lust filled, twist and turn in this story.

Vasiliy Volkov comes out of a Siberian prison a different man than when he went on. The family repays him by giving him the club of the family who tried to destroy his. The only problem is the daughter of that family Galina who gutted him once and was the reason why he was in prison is back with her own agenda.

These two are a powder keg of want, need, lust and power trips. Neither knows what the other is up to at any point in time and trust is not a luxury either have.

But they learn to lean on each and trust in each other before the most epic bratva gunfight.

I highly recommend this story to anyone who loves a good mafia romance. Please read the trigger warnings.

This is the 2nd book I have read in this series despite it being number 3, I seem to be reading them out of order, but it doesn’t matter, it has just made the other book make more sense. Although, I may have to listen to them all in order again in the future, I’m a little obsessed.

This story focuses on Vasiliya Volkov an ex Russian agent and Galina Olenko a member of a New York Mafia Family. They haven’t seen each other for over a year. After their last encounter, Vasiliya was exiled to a Siberian prison and Galina spent a year in therapy. Some how on their release, they find themselves in the same Russian bar. Their eyes meet and he wants to punish her.

They return to New York and needing a job, Galina heads to the family night club, only to find out it has been gifted to Vasiliya. The come to a ‘mutual’ arrangement but it soon turns into more, much more. In fact, Galina ends up pregnant with Vasilya’s baby.

Vasiliyi and Galina's love story

Vasiliyi Volkov is the oldest brother of Katya Volkov Solokov and Nikolai Volkov. He served in FSB (successor of KGB) for years. He was imprisoned in Siberia for a year as punishment for helping Igor Solokov, Katya's husband.
Galina Olenko is the surviving sister of 2 brothers who were killed by the Volkov and Solokov families. She tried to kill Katya a year ago, in retaliation for her brother's killing. Shw was pbsessed with Igor Solokov. She was imprisoned for insanity in Moscow but has been allowed to return home to NY.
Vasiliyi and Galina hook up in Moscow fir a night and then in NY when she goes to work at his club.
Their story is full of vengeance and violence.
The overriding question is- why would Vasiliyi help the woman who tried to kill his sister? Yes, their love blossoms, but the premise of this book is a very hard reach.
If you can ignore that flaw, it is an enjoyable read.

Mafia King’s Ruthless Obsession is a dark and intense tale of love, vengeance, and control. Main characters Galina and Vasiliyi are dynamic—each having survived their own personal hells and coming together despite their status as enemies. The chemistry between them is white hot and so fiery. Watching them fall for each other as they navigate the dangers around them is gripping! I love how the author is developing this series and how different villains are constantly circling in the background. With pulse pounding action and two independent and headstrong leads, there is plenty of engagement on all fronts.

The narrators did a phenomenal job performing the various roles with power, grace, depth, and emotion (or lack thereof when the character called for it). I really felt like I was in their world each moment, and thoroughly enjoyed this dark, deceptive, and well-written story!

Vasiliyi and Galina both have some struggles after being imprisoned. They meet each other and have and amazing night together. Things reignite between them when she starts working in his club. However, they have a past that isn't as forgotten as either would like. Will the past come between what they could have together?

This is a great story that will hook you in the first chapter on. This is a well written and very entertaining story. Its a book that any book lover would enjoy.

Just a regular Bratva life. Action that starts at the beginning and doesn’t slow down til the end. With great characters thru out. Never know what will happen next. Plenty of action. Plenty of drama. Plenty of sex. Plenty of battles. If it belongs in a Bratva family saga it’s here in spades. There is hate, revenge, betrayal, love, distrust and rejection, it will deliver it all. This is part of a series but feels like it could be read as a stand alone and still enjoyed immensely.

A dark game of revenge. Galina and Vasiliyi are trying to redeem themselves. Both cannot stay away from each other and both despise each other. A true enemies to lovers dark mafia romance. You couldn't help but feel the tension between these two. The hate and pure passion was explosive. I could not put this book down!

This book has it all. Mafia , revenge , and romance. The characters have chemistry from the beginning and it lasts through the book. The the characters had plenty of spice once they gave in to this it chemistry. The book had me trying to guess what would happen next.

If you require 8 hours of uninterrupted sleep, I suggest you don’t start reading this book before bedtime because it’s going to cause sleep deprivation due to it being extremely difficult to stop reading. Holy cow this romance book by AJ is freaking awesome and I loved giving up some sleep to finish reading it. This is one AMAZING 10 star read.

Hold on to your hats, this book has obsession, revenge, mystery, darkness , twist and steam. Also romance and great characters.

I’m a total mood reader so when I originally started this I was struggling to get into it. I picked it back up again and I am so glad I did! The MMC was so strong and stubborn and the FMC was strong and fierce. I really ended up enjoying this story to much! Highly recommend.

Dark, angsty, well written with interesting characters. Both characters become likable, from the beginning neither is someone you would want to know until you’re wanting their relationship to work. Intense, edge of your seat read with lots of heat. Don’t forget the Bonus Epilogue.

Passion from Vengeance

Vasiliyi and Galina may ignite their passion in the bedroom, but their history is a contentious one full of hate and tension. It was an interesting read that has you questioning how these two connected. Entertaining and steamy, the plot and characters kept me invested.

Clinton Woodhams and Shane Martinez provided an excellent narration for Galina and Vasiliyi. I found this audiobook to be captivating and suspenseful as the performances gave me goosebumps. This was definitely most interesting.

Summers delivers in this addition to her New York Bratva series that can easily be read as a standalone! Completely captivating from the very beginning with our main characters Galina and Vasiliyi. A dark, mafia romance read that is full of action, twists, revenge and betrayals. I couldn't get enough with this smooth flowing, addictive storyline and the balance of dark revenge mixed with romance. I loved it and can't wait for more!
