Borrowed Time: A Soldier’s Reflection on Finding Yourself Through Chaos

Rate this book
In this heartfelt book, I delve into my evolution as a man, exploring themes of self-accountability and
intentional relationships that have shaped my journey. Drawing on my personal experiences, I reflect
on the vital role of faith and my relationship with God, which have provided strength and direction
during challenging moments. Mental health is also a key focus, as I share my struggles and the
importance of prioritizing well-being. Through my encounters with loss and sacrifice, I highlight the
resilience that emerges from adversity. I emphasize the importance of appreciating what we have
rather than fixating on what we lack, reminding us to cultivate gratitude in our daily lives. This book
serves as an invitation to embrace vulnerability, foster meaningful connections, and deepen your faith.
Ultimately, it is a heartfelt reminder that, despite life's challenges, we can find purpose and growth
through our relationships with ourselves, others, and God. Join me on this journey of self-discovery
and empowerment.

HT, my friend, you did good! You left your heart on every page. The good, the bad, the sad, the ugly, and the amazingly beautiful!!!! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

“People may think they know you, but they rarely know your full story.”

Tears were shed while taking in his full story. Because while I know HT from his referenced time at Macy’s, the pain, disappointment, loneliness, and desire to be accepted was new to me.

In this book he shares:
- his struggle as a child of immigrants and cultural expectations.
-his recovery from a major injury and also loss of brothers in the army
-his connection and conversion to Catholicism
-his battle with grief & forgiveness
-and his discovery of love for himself and the love of his life.

“She is my rock, the one I lean on when I feel small and dismissed by the world. I’m not invincible, but with her, I feel safe.” 🥹
