I am a big fan of Rumiko Takahaski's works and Urusei Yatsura is no exception. It's fun and light hearted but doesn't take it's self too seriously. If you want something to take your mind off of the troubles that are going on in your life and have something that is just pure comedy then I subject this series for you. It is very funny, now if you are looking for an overarching storyline there isn't one. This series is just a bunch of random short chapters that doesn't really sever any greater propose. Now the main two characters of Lum and Ataru are really interesting, Lum is very prone to jealousy and will often shock Atrau with her lightning. Atrau often chases women and is quite the womanizer. He doesn't seem to care for Lum at least not past her looks, will this change later on in the series? Well to be honest he has to change himself in order to really apricate who Lum is as a person, that is a big part of the problem. He sees women as sexual object rather than as people and until he can see them for the individuals that they are, only then will he be able to truly apricate Lum as a person and maybe even return her feelings. I big hop for this series is that both Lum and Ataru grow as character, I would hate to them to be the same at the end of the series as they are at the beginning. But I am glad that this series is finally being reprinted in English for the first time in a very long time and that in will finally be completed.
