A breathtaking sequel to Keepers of Time—for fans of The Starless Sea and The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue. A time-traveling clock tower. A star-worshipping cult. A red-cloaked priest who holds time in the palm of his hand. After a disastrous rescue attempt, an immortal murderer holds Joan captive in a valley where no time passes. She’s desperate to keep Arial occupied and allow Thiago and Gabby to delve into the secrets of the Clock Tower that’s slowly draining them of their magic and sanity. As she’s haunted by terrifying visions of a priest in red, Joan uncovers memories of her past life. A dangerous love, twisted magic with more than a few secrets, and the hooded cult leader whose stolen power has damaged the fabric of time…not to mention her own horrifying death. Joan must recover her forgotten power to repair the Clock Tower and finish what she started in her past stopping the Priest from dragging the world—and the people Joan loves most—into timeless darkness. This sweeping second installment in the Keeper of Time Trilogy explores past and present, in hopes of saving a splintering future.
Tower of Bones is a refreshingly unique fantasy that completely pulled me in with its rich world-building and intricate narrative. I especially appreciated how Book 2 expanded the story by introducing multiple points of view set across different time periods—something that can be tricky to pull off, but here it’s done masterfully. The transitions between timelines felt seamless, and I never once found myself confused, which is a huge testament to the author’s storytelling skill.
One of the standout elements for me was the antagonist—the “priest.” He is a brilliantly creepy character, both in his mannerisms and appearance. Every time he appeared on the page, I felt a chill. You just know he’s up to no good lol. He’s the kind of villain who sticks with you long after the chapter ends.
While I did miss seeing more of Thiago and Gabby, I understand why their roles were more limited in this installment. The introduction of new characters allowed for fresh perspectives, and they truly had their moment to shine. That said, I hope to see more of Thiago and Gabby in the future, as their story still feels deeply important.
Adrian, though, I am so interested to see what happens with him. He’s such a wonderfully complex character—layered with so much. I’m really looking forward to seeing how his arc unfolds in the next book.
Overall, Tower of Bones is a beautifully written, time-twisting fantasy with heart, depth, and a deliciously dark edge. Highly recommended for fans of layered plots, quests and self discovery.

Drift into time’s shadowed embrace, where unwavering love binds eternally.
Tower of Bone by M. N. Kinch is the utterly thrilling second installment in the Keepers of Time Trilogy. The first book made me an instant devotee, and the anticipation for this sequel had soared to a fever pitch—yet the reward was beyond measure.
M. N. Kinch’s bewitching pen meticulously crafts a world with an atmosphere so thick you can practically taste it. Intricate details and a seamless interplay of past, present, and future make the narrative irresistibly immersive, inviting you to lose yourself in its shadowy depths. The characters are so vividly realized that they practically leap off the page. A haunting, manipulative villain with lethal, relentless, and unstoppable powers, an inescapable trap spanning realms and eons, a heart-pounding race, and lovers forged in the crucible of destiny—unyielding in the face of peril and burning with a passion that transcends the confines of time and sacrifice—combine to deliver a book nothing short of phenomenal. The devastating revelations and mind-blowing ending fuel an unquenchable desire for the trilogy’s ultimate chapter.
If you crave a darkly seductive world, a storyline that unfolds with breath-catching intensity, and stormy, unforgettable characters, then Tower of Bone is a must-read. This magical series has left me spellbound, and I have no doubt it will cast its irresistible charm over you as well.
In this second book, about 70-75% of the book is in the past; I was not expecting that. It nearly created its own extra book inside this one, making it, in my humble opinion, much longer than it needed to be to get to the point/s.
A lot of the complex ideas are interesting and enjoyable, but it just felt like it dragged. There's a possibility that I'll read the third book, but not a strong one.
I loved the FMC's quest to understand and rediscover herself, which was cool to ride along with; that took the majority of the book. Then we see the exact same thing happen to the MMC... in mere pages. Pros and cons.

Life begins; ends; and begins again. There is no past, present or future. All time, all lives; are as one. Can we make it to the tower and repair the time clock before all time ceased to exist. When/if we do - is this the end or are there things we have/haven’t experienced which still need to be accomplished?
This volume took us to the past to understand what had happened. To the future to see what may happen. And to the present to see if we can make the combined happen.
To say more would be to spoil this for you. Enjoy!
past - present - future! The story alternates between past and present in a continuous unfolding of events. At times it is difficult to keep up with how the story evolves, with the same people changing names depending on the time period the interaction takes place in, and to be able to distinguish the main story from memories. It's still suspenseful and pushes the reader onward into the story. I enjoyed the story, aware of the story being part of a greater whole.
