My best friend’s brother broke my teenage heart. Now I’m back in town, and I can not let that happen again…
After six years in the big city corporate grind, I’m back in Crestview to surprise my best friend, Lisa.
But instead, her brother, Logan, answers her door. He was our small town’s heartbreaking, party boy, and my first crush.
No longer that cocky boy, he’s all grown up, gorgeous, and a successful veterinarian.
Watching him gently care for an injured stray cat while sharing his clinic’s vision, I see a changed, compassionate man.
Our hands touch, a sizzling charge bolts through my fingers into my heart creating an undeniable attraction demanding attention.
Heated looks over coffee lead to secret kisses. It’s almost enough to think about leaving my city life for him.
I could lose my best friend if she knew I’ve fallen for her brother. I know he’s completely off limits, and I have no idea what Lisa will do if she finds out…but it might be worth the risk.
Love Changes Everything - It was obvious from the moment Logan and Amy locked eyes on her return, that they belong together, but his previous playboy status made it difficult for anyone to trust he would be serious about her. However, it took time and determination for Logan to convince his sister of his sincerity and get her blessing, as well as getting Amy to make a life changing decision, so they could get a chance at a future happiness. You will definitely enjoy reading this book as much as I did and be happy to share it with everyone.
I received a copy of this book free and I am voluntarily leaving a review.
I love a good small-town sweet romance, and this book does not disappoint. I took off one star because of the formatting issues. This is a short sweet small-town romance. I found myself routing for Amy and Logan and wanting to punch Lisa because she should have been all-in for both her brother and her best friend. Instead, all she could see was the player he was in another part of his life. It is so easy to get caught up in the mantra people don't change, but in this case Logan did. It was Lisa who managed to get them together in the end. **SPOILER**
Amy wants to surprise her best friend Lisa by showing up a day early, but Amy gets surprised by Logan answering the door. Logan is Lisa's playboy brother. Logan is trying to show Lisa and the town that he has changed. Amy sees the changes, but can't believe the guy that never gave her the time of day growing up could be interested in her. Lisa warns them both that they are off limits to each other, but the heart wants what the heart wants. A really sweet romance.
It’s pretty bad when his sister doesn’t let him grow up in her own eyes. Just because he was a jerk in school, doesn’t mean he hasn’t changed. But she just could see it. Even after he became a veterinarian and owned his own practice. Bu she had to open her eyes, because her best friend was-falling for him

Fun story of a reformed bad boy and his sister's friend. From an unexpected meeting to an irresistible attraction, it's not an easy transition. Both are afraid of being hurt. Both are very aware of his sister's aversion to their relationship. The journey is worth it. I liked this sweet story of second chances.
If you are looking for a short, sweet, easy read, then I would definitely recommend this book. At only 9 chapters and an epilogue, the story flows very smoothly. It’s also just long enough to really I enjoy the characters. I’m not sure if this author has written more books to make this a series but Logan’s sister and his friend Jerry would be excellent people to write the next books about!
When sparks fly between a best friend and her bestie's brother, it wasn't the reaction that I was expecting. Instead, a promise was extracted to stay away from him- with a warning about how awful he was. But people change, and some people give others a second chance.
A cute, short and sweet, romance. The FMC, Amy had always had a crush on Logan, her best friends brother, from the get go. Amy leaves Crestview to go for a corporate job in the city, leaving her family and best friend behind. But when she comes back home a day early and knocks on Lisa's door, she is surprised when Logan answers the door. He's all grown up. And still just as good-looking.
Logan begins to develop feelings for Amy, and Amy's feelings for Logan never die. The two were literally meant to be as soon as I read this book. With Logan's nerves and Amy reassuring him, they were the definition of what 'a perfect couple' should be like.
The writing/editing is a little rough around the edges, which makes sense since the ebook edition I have is a freebie. There are "good bones" for a book here, hence my 3 star rating.
My Best Friend’s Irresistible Brother by Darcy James tells a tender, small town romance about reconnecting with a first crush and discovering that the boy who once broke your heart might now be a source of warmth, care, and something deeper. When Amy returns to her hometown of Crestview after years in the city to surprise her best friend Lisa, she instead meets Logan, Lisa’s older brother, who has grown from his party boy reputation into a thoughtful, successful veterinarian. Their unexpected reunion sparks undeniable chemistry, complicated by the long held belief that they should stay firmly within the friend and sibling boundaries that shaped their youth.
What I found most touching about this story is the gentle evolution of both characters, and how the narrative quiets itself to let those small, poignant moments breathe: the gentle way Logan cares for an injured stray cat, the shared coffee that lingers longer than expected, the vulnerability in conversations about who they once were and who they have become.
Although the novel is short, with only nine chapters and an epilogue, it feels cozy rather than rushed, giving enough space for Amy’s internal uncertainty and Logan’s effort to show he is not the person from the past. I felt pulled in by the sincerity of their connection and by how the story explores trust, change, and second chances within a familiar trope that so many readers adore.
If you enjoy small town settings where heart and character matter more than grand gestures, this may leave you with a warm feeling long after the final page.
My rating: 4 out of 5 stars. I loved how heartfelt and sweet it felt, and though a bit more depth in some moments would have made it even stronger for me, the emotional resonance and charm of the leads earned it a solid four.
