King was always mine in a game. But his queen was different. So I played with him... The golden boy of London's mayor, whose name was on everyone’s lips was never ready for my checkmate. It got him tangled in a dirty game of my little secrets that slipped into his bed every night and left before sunrise, with a naughty glass of wine, and an innocent kiss. He asks me one question every night before I leave. “Where is Olivia?” The clue to finding her was my lips sealed with an answer... “Find me first, best friend.”
This book is a dark college romance and a complete standalone in an inter-connected series. Please check the trigger warnings before reading the book.
Isis Melantha loves to write anything dark with crime, chaos, and mystery and top the cherry with spicy romance, shaping the nastiest men and sassiest women. However, she is still on the journey to navigate her life and explore the world.
She is not your comfort author. She takes pride in making you uncomfortable
My main issue is that there’s so much plot missing it felt like the author was hitting fast forward from some chapters to the next. I had this issue with the first book as well but unlike the first book I wasn’t into the main characters so I feel like that played with me dragging this book out, I just wasn’t excited to continue reading. I should have dnf this book but I’m too stubborn.
Isis has a brilliant way of writing some dark, twisted revenge stories. This one definitely did not disappoint. Definitely check the trigger warnings, triggers don't bother me, but if you are hesitant at all, check them out prior to reading.
