Overall Thoughts: This story takes you on a wild ride from the first chapter, and has an ending that will linger with you long after you finish this book. There is a lot that happens in this book, I don’t know how Billie crammed it all into a book this length. The flow of this story has so many questions in the beginning, with the journey that has highs and lows giving the reader a bit of whiplash, that finally results in an epic ending. Suzy is a deeply complex character with a range of emotions stemming from a background of pain and torture. Jax, has also been through more in his life than any one person should need to deal with and he takes that pain and focuses it on getting justice for those he can now, when he wasn’t able to when he was younger. Alyssa was amazing as Suzy, and is one of my favorite female British narrators, her voice is a perfect match for this complex FMC. James is just a favorite and his voice could soothe even the fiercest psychic of beasts. Corruption and pain are rampant in this book, so take heed before diving into this dark romance.
Narration: Duet narration, first-person present tense, multiple-POV with flashbacks
Tropes: Dark, @buse, s3xual exploitation, psycho MMC, b3aten down FMC, masked man, scars, betrayal, s3x trafficking, secrets, torture, ‘who did this to you?’, unalivers, vigilante
Overall: 4
Spice: 3
Humor: 1.5

Narration: 5
Suzy has known nothing but pain and and suffering from deplorable men since she was just a teenager. Moving to Hallow Hills with the man who has owned and traded her for years, may be the best thing to happen to her, when she meets Jax in the most unexpected of ways.
When Jax sees Suzy for the first time, he is so enamored with her, he forgets what he is doing, putting him in danger of being caught. Hating that she is trapped by a man he knows to be evil to his core, has him looking for ways to free her from him.
As Suzy and Jax get to know each other, their souls seem to recognize the battered and torn parts of each other, strengthening their bond, and their promises to themselves to do whatever they can to help make the other one whole again.
