Supreme Justice is a brand new book by Eric P. Bishop, it is the third one in his series about The Body Man. Merci de Atta and her boyfriend Marcus plays a big part in this book and I can't wait to see what will happen with Merci in the future. Nick Jordan, the current Body Man is not to be forgotten although it's not the individual that is important when it comes to this title. The concept of a Body Man is a great one and it can't be an easy one to write about without getting bogged down with current affairs. This is something Bishop handles flawlessly. I found the various events in the buildup well written and it really made sense when I reached the final third of the book. At that point I almost had to take several brakes to digest the action. The title is really fitting to the story and the characters are as always well put together. I wonder if the author has a map of all the secret levels and tunnels that connects various buildings in D.C.? If you still haven't found and read any of the books by this author it's about time you remedy it. I am sure he will be around for some time.
Supreme Justine is SUPREMEly awesome!! We wanted more Merci, we got more Merci!! She has her enemies screaming Merci Merci Merci Eric Bishop is on a roll with The Body Man Series. It is so amazing to watch an author from his first book and each book after improve his craft and his love of his work. Bishop has layered in so much detail and background into his characters that all build on each other. A non stop race to the finish with action and incredible dialogue. I highly recommend this book and the series. I was incredible honored to be made a character in this book. I can’t tell you how excited I am about that. I have followed Eric’s writing journey from the beginning and am always messaging him encouragements. Pick this book up ASAP!
Another thrilling addition to The Body Man universe! Eric Bishop gifted me with an early edition of this outstanding book, and I am so thrilled that he did. Fans of The Body Man are in for a wild ride with this story featuring Merci de Atta, assassin for hire. The action heats up from the opening page and doesn’t let up until the explosive ending. Eric’s writing keeps you glued to the pages and not wanting to stop reading until it ends, which happened way too fast for me (I haven’t read a book this fast in a long time).
Summary below from Amazon:
When a landmark case with global implications reaches a divided court, everything hinges on the vote of one Supreme Court Associate Justice. The court prides itself on being impartial, but can one member be swayed to abandon their principles in order to ensure the safety of one they hold most dear?
Merci de Atta, the female assassin from The Body Man and Breach Of Trust, accepts a new contract that leads to more complications than she expects. However, even though she kills for a living, Merci has one rule she never bends or breaks, regardless of the price a client will pay.
Actions have consequences, and sometimes those consequences destroy the lives of unintended recipients.
Meanwhile, Nick Jordan, the current Body Man, finds a chilling list of names when he eliminates the last elements of a global crime syndicate, The Sanctum. Nick must discover why those on the list are targets and how decades of compartmentalized knowledge can lead to the takedown of a global superpower.
Nick and Merci come from very different worlds, but they are suddenly forced to coexist and work together to save not merely one person, but an entire way of life.
Long before the Internet and the streaming profit-machine brought some of its characters back from the dead, the flying crane and the leg sweep ruled supreme in memorializing the story of the lethally stoic maintenance man and the love-struck teeny-bopper with a penchant to attract beach bullies' attention. Forged in the fire of battle-hardened Vietnam Vet turned dojo sensei Kreese, the goon squad of motocross karateka will eventually take on THE KARATE KID in a mano y mano session in the 'All Valley Karate Tournament' and either live by Kreese's creed of 'no mercy in this dojo' or face the way of the fist and cinematic justice. In the global killers-for-hire MORTAL KOMBAT arena of SUPREME JUSTICE, however, there is mercy, Merci that is. SUPREME JUSTICE is not a dojo story per se, though the current combative SCOTUS might want a word; it does have Merci de Atta all over it. A continuation of THE BODY MAN series, SUPREME JUSTICE is a tumultuous actioner following the most deadly assassin all over the world. Hard hitting, fast paced, and intricately plotted, SUPREME JUSTICE proves that from the Oval to the Orient, SUPREME JUSTICE is meted out in bullets and blood. And Merci is its name.
Screaming for a road-trip to spin-off city, THE BODY MAN series was fed after midnight and spawned SUPREME JUSTICE, starring the fan favorite Merci de Atta in her very own treatment of political machinations and mayhem. An assassin extraordinaire with an icy stare, a tormented past, an Eagle Scout boyfriend and an anaconda skill-set that'll relegate Zenia Onatopp into the dustbin of celluloid history, Merci de Atta is not exactly a girl scout or a model citizen. A victim of physical violence during her formative years, Merci was forged by her experience and shaped her into her black widow persona. There are very few like Merci and nothing about her is average. Her drive to take the most slimy of POS off planet earth drives her, making her Vann diagram overlap with that of THE BODY MAN himself, his focus though is protecting the office of the President of the United States. Dubious enemies and even more unlikely allies, Merci and THE BODY MAN are joined hip-deep in DC turmoil with global implications. As Caesar famously insisted, 'the die is cast'. Though there's no gambling with the national security of the United States or the sanctity of the US Supreme Court, SUPREME JUSTICE is a clever and smart play on the current political climate and a plausible exercise in possible real-life problem scenarios are jarring and eye-opening.
While not precisely a buddy-action adventure, SUPREME JUSTICE ties up a few of the threads set up in previous Body Man stories, again regaling the reader with crisp dialogue, astute social observations and stellar pop-culture references to the likes of HEAT, DIE HARD, LETHAL WEAPON, TERMINATOR 2 and THE ROCK. The best pairing since John Wick and Eve Macarro, SUPREME JUSTICE stays on the safe side of hard-core gun-Fu, weaving action and firefights into a crafty web of global intrigue originating in the Temple of Justice. Asserting that a woman's intuition is more powerful than a man's hunch, SUPREME JUSTICE is Merci chocolates smooth and tangentially related to Pringles. Bet no one will be able to just read one. Thrilling, entertaining, and mesmerizing, SUPREME JUSTICE "bullet-trains" through a maelstrom of assaults, intrigue, politics and violence, leaving an indelible mark. With Merci on your mind and vengeance in your heart, the narrative is a supreme accomplishment among political action thrillers of the year. SUPREME JUSTICE is coming--tip the scales and join this mission of Merci.
Supreme Justice hits with the precision of a well-oiled strike team and the moral weight of a nation on the brink. Eric P. Bishop unleashes fast-paced chapters that snap forward like a series of controlled detonations, each one tightening the vise.
Merci de Atta is as lethal and compelling as ever, bound by a personal code carved deeper than any contract. Nick Jordan, carrying the scars of his duty as the Body Man, uncovers a list that could crack the foundation of a global superpower. When their worlds collide, the tension snaps like a tripwire, and Bishop spices the danger with sly, pitch-perfect pop-culture references that hit like Easter eggs for the sharp-eyed reader.
Bishop writes with the cool confidence of someone who understands both the corridors of power and the shadows beneath their marble floors. The stakes rise fast, the danger is palpable, and the moral dilemmas cut deep without ever slowing the momentum. Supreme Justice stands tall as a sharp, high-stakes political thriller with a beating heart. Five stars. Book three of The Body Man doesn’t just deliver, it detonates.
The Body Man is back, and this time he’s bringing his “friend”.
Eric nails it again with this novel, third in his Body Man series, focusing more on Merci de Atta; developing her character, giving insight into her and following her thoughts and actions in the events surrounding a group of people trying to exert influence over a Supreme Court justice.
This is a “sneaky” fast paced novel, and I say that in the best way. There is plenty of action in addition to the character development and world building, but why I say it’s “sneaky” is because before you know it, you’ve read a dozen pages thinking it’s only a couple the way he keeps the story moving forward.
There is some great set up for future novels here imbedded with the story that leaves you wanting more (Eric, please write faster!). As with his other novels, there are many Easter eggs and pop culture references to make you smile.
Definitely check this one out, and if you haven’t already, the first two in this series, The Body Man and Breach of Trust.
Eric Bishop takes “The Body Man” series to new heights with SUPREME JUSTICE. His new novel is a complex series of storylines that weave into a tight roped climax no one sees coming. The plot is the creation of journeyman storytelling. The flow of conflict and suspense makes this volume hard to put down.
Bishop is also a master for the creation of solid characters. Readers can quickly relate to the caldron of emotions that shape the characters. To add to their complexity, they don’t live in a black and white world, but leave the reader asking, “what is really right and wrong?”
A trademark of every Bishop novel is the intense study he puts into location research. SUPREME JUSTICE is no different. The reader feels enmeshed in the action as they read through the streets of Paris, the back roads of Ireland, or the catacombs beneath Washington, DC.
If you only have one book on your summer reading list, it better be SUPREME JUSTICE.
I loved this book~even though there is a major heartbreak coming. My favorite character is still Merci because I always thought it would be great to be the apprentice to the BodyMan, and nope, I would not change the name because it’s just fine! This woman matches every skill, every call, and every action~ she’s got game and she is not just good~in this story we learn she’s the best! [tissues not included by suggested.] Not one to compare Authors to one another, I will simply add Eric to the field of outstanding thriller/suspense genre Authors. To really understand the book it’s important to read the previous offerings. The books is still SUPERB as a standalone, but the Body Man phenomenon is in its infancy, so back filling now is best. My thanks to the Author for the PDF to read and review prior to publication.
I recieved an advance copy of this (outstanding) book. I enjoyed the initial books in the Body Man series, and I was excited for this one--it did not disappoint. This is an outstanding addition.
Bishop has the unique ability to write fast paced action, but still keep his prose very high level--almost like Daniel Silva.
With all that said, this novel was fast paced and fun. It kept me engaged and turning the pages. I was disapointed when it was over.
Another really good addition in the Body Man series. Returning characters, Merci and Marcus are front and center as Merci accepts a job that brings both of them into the center of a possible political firestorm involving a Supreme Court Justice that pulls in both Nick and the President. Suspense with intrigue and non-stop mayhem. Good read with fast moving story.
Expertly plotted thriller from one of the best in the business. Third entry in THE BODY MAN series is the best one yet. The action is relentless (particularly a nerve-shredding climax), but the story never loses its character-driven scope. When it comes to Bishop, you always need to buckle up
I received an ARC of Supremely Justice and want to thank Eric P. Bishop! This addition to The Body Man series is so dang good. Very excited to see where Merci ends up. The Body Man continues to impress!
I've really enjoyed Mr. Bishop's writing. The Body Man series is griping and hard for me to put down. I was disappointed at the end of Supreme Justice as there were unanswered questions, but was glad to see the author provided an explanation. Looking forward to book 4!
Eric Bishop has had quite a run with his "The Body Man" series. Supreme Justice continues that run. A plot to sway the US Supreme Court has brought Merci de Atta back into the assassination business. In completing the contract, fighting a demon of her own and finding revenge, Merci is in constant action in this book. The ending will leave you wanting more!!! Too bad the next book won't be available until next summer. I love this series and highly recommend you dive into it.
