He's been her hero once. Now, he'll be her ruin.

Ramsey Blackwood is a menace on the ice. A bruiser. A fighter. A legacy at St. Charles University, keeping his family name alive even after his cousins have graduated.

But his real obsession? Reese St. Pierre.

It started the first time he saw her. Years ago, he saved her from a man who meant to hurt her. But it wasn’t just a white knight move. It was the beginning of his downfall.

She’s all he sees. All he wants. All he craves.

But Reese is off-limits. His best friend. The little sister of his cousin’s wife. A dancer with more grace than anyone he’s ever known. The only person who makes him feel like there’s a shred of good left inside him. She’s also someone else’s.

Ramsey tells himself she deserves better. That no one is good enough for her—not even him. That he’ll protect her from the shadows, even if it means burying his own secrets—his violent tendencies, his obsession, his addiction to the darkness his cousin Penn introduced him to.

But when he finds out just how unworthy her boyfriend really is, all bets are off.

Reese has always known Ramsey was dangerous. But when she follows him into the night, she realizes she never knew just how dark he truly is. And now that she’s seen him like this, there’s no turning back.

She was his once-upon-a-time salvation. Now, he’ll be her sweetest sin.

This is a college MF sports romance and a standalone in the Sinful Spartans of SCU series. There will be content that you would expect to see in a dark romance. Please check the content list before reading.

I was missing a dark college romance after reading mafia stories nonstop, so I picked this up on a whim. I have read the related series from London and met Ramsey in those and if I thought I was ready for him, boy was I wrong! That man is Obsessed with a capital O. The things he does for Reese are so unhinged 🤌🏼

The best part about the book is how easily Reese accepted her feelings, too! The level of angst - not much, not less, just perfect! 🙌🏼

Plus, there are so many side characters from Havoc's other series, and they intrigued me sm 👀 I am going to go back and read their stories too!

Can't wait for Cope's book!

Were Ramsey and Reese everything I hope they’d be? Yes, yes they were. Was Ramsey Blackwood deliciously unhinged and obsessed and completely and utterly besotted with his ‘North Star’ Reese? Yes, yes he was! And as always Havoc delivers her MMC completely and utterly devoted to his woman in the most deranged but TOTALLY romantic way. Would Ramsey be a walking red flag in real life? Hell, of course he would! But in this book??? The things he does to keep Reese safe and the lengths he goes to ensure she’s looked after and cared for are just down right swoon worthy!🤣 Ramseys been Reese’s best friend for 4 years but never crossed that line with her for fear he isn’t good enough. And because he’s afraid she won’t be able to handle his darkness. When in fact, once Justin- Reese’s boyfriend is out of the picture, Reese realises that she’s wanted Ramsey to be hers and hers alone all along. She’s tired of being the good girl she decides to start taking what she wants and creates a bucket list that Ramsey says he’ll help her with. Once they start ticking things off of the list, Ramsey can’t hold back anymore and shoots his shot with her. And it’s just what Reese has been wanting! What unfolds is actually that Reese craves Ramseys darkness, it’s a real turn on for her and makes her want him all the more. We may or may not see Reese become possessive over Ramsey right back, which he’s totally here for! They dynamics between these two was fabulous - I could not of loved them more. The tension that builds between the fine of their friendship and then them crossing that line is electric, the spice was chilli pepper hot- with an EPIC primal play scene and the banter between Ramsey and his cousin Penn and best friend Copeland was too tier! This book was a fun time from start to finish and just the escapism you will want and love if you’re into unhinged, broody hockey players who watch their girl on camera and learn to tattoo in a couple of hours so no one but him can touch her skin!🤣

Wow this book was a wild ride! Ramsey is completely unhinged and I was there for it! Content warning for the torture scenes for anyone that's sensitive to it...it was almost too much for me. 😬 I skimmed through the torture a bit, but enjoyed the rest of the book and the story! This was a completely different vibe from the prequel in the series about the coach. If you're looking for a completely OBSESSED MMC, this one if for you! #stalker #touchherandd!3

O Ramsey Blackwood, we have been waiting for you and you DID NOT disappoint. Sinful Obsession by Havoc Wilde is book 1 in the new Sinful Spartans of SCU series and as Havoc does so freaking good, it is DARK!! If you love dark hockey romances with a morally gray man that goes beyond every boundary, is absolutely unhinged and obsessed, he is the red flag of red flags and oh is he so sexy! This man is DOWN BAD! You need to read this book!

Ramsey Blackwood. We met him in the last three books about his cousins in the Kings of Castlebrook series by London Snow. And I knew he would be dark, but oh holy hell! He’s an insane hockey player, he’s unhinged, he’s obsessed, he’s a stalker, he’s beyond possessive. But it’s all for one reason. Reese St. Pierre. Touch her and you d!e. Four years ago he saved her life and that was it. He was done, she became his EVERYTHING! This man worships her, does everything for her. And these two have fought it, even though it was simmering underneath all this time. He’s convinced he’s not good enough. She is a beautiful dancer who is light and good and innocent. BUT, this girl is tough and strong and she has her broken pieces just like him and little did they both know just how much she craves the dark too! And that was one of my favorite parts, how she embraced and just loved him for him, especially all his dark parts. And their chemistry and passion, FIRE, BURNED, HEAT.. So many words to describe the absolutely soul connection of these two!

I also LOVED Havoc bringing back all the Blackwoods! Penn, the absolute crazy and unhinged man you are! It was so perfect! I also loved meeting the new characters that will continue in this series!

Havoc Wilde, you freaking DELIVERED!!! After waiting for these two and their story, omg did you give us the perfect, unhinged and so deliciously dark book of them! And I AM HERE for the rest of this series! Add this series to your TBR now and also read The Kings of Castlebrook series by London Snow. I promise you will love these books!

It's a wild thing that I'm going to say - since there were multiple on page murders - but this story was a bit uneventful. It was definitely setting up the world of SCU, introducing us to future players, but these two main characters just made sense. They made sense when I met them in Pucking Possessive and that didn't stop them continuing to make sense in this book. So like all the other people in his life, I too thought Ramsey should have just gotten rid of her boyfriend in whatever means necessary. Granted, how that happens definitely wasn't for the weak of stomach. I personally haven't found a trigger that I haven't like - but this book almost did me in. Almost. Mainly, the first guy they got rid of. Granted, I don't know the real reason Copeland wanted to torture him - my hope is that it was justified.

The people in these books really don't have to worry about consequences. It's absolutely wild. Like, they don't use protection whilst having relations and don't have to worry about the outcome. I have to assume the girls are on birth control... but it wasn't ever established. I liked that Reece ended up being a bit broken too and her crazy matched Ramsey. Penn sounds absolutely unhinged and I'm sorry to have missed that story - but that just means I have some more reading to do. I'm interested in the Black Crown subplot that comes in at the end. I've only seen London's side of things, which touches on that. I'll be sure to take a look at that.

I guess, I enjoyed this story. As mentioned above, I expected more conflict or consequences, but it is what it is. These psychopaths are free to move about the country and just do as they will. It's a bit terrifying, but I remind myself it's fiction. I enjoyed the story and it had some good smut. They have a great chase scene as well as other adventures. Definitely give this one a read!

I wasn’t expecting to love this as much as I did!

This story was a pleasant surprise. I’ve been waiting for Ramsey since I met him in London Snow’s books. Him and Reese had the most interesting dynamic and I needed to know the hows and whys. So when I saw that Havoc was writing his book I had to dive in asap.

Ramsey was a gift. He’s the perfect possessive stalker man of my dreams. He was down bad from the moment he met her and even before they got to talk he was already gathering intel on her. He wanted her happiness before his own, he would have spent his life just in the shadows if Reese had not show her cards. But once she did, he was all in. No going back.

I wanted to smack Reese and hug her at the same time. She truly was blind for a second but once she got the picture she put her all into getting her man. I loved how at ease she was with him, how seamless the transition from friends to lovers was because they were only missing som physical intimacy (I say some because they already touched way too closely for ‘just friends’ lol). I liked her darker side and how easily she accepted all the pieces that made Ramsey.

I’m intrigued to read more about these characters we met and I’ll be on the lookout for the next book for sure!

Thank you, Havoc and Smuthood, for this earc!!

Quotes:

"I'm gonna make you come right here," I promise, voice rough with need. "With all these people around. I'm going to be the first and only fucking one to make you orgasm, you got that, baby girl?"

I've spent years keeping my distance, fighting against every instinct to claim her, to ruin her. And in one night, I gave in to all of it. I marked her body and her soul permanently. That shit changes a man.
Rewires his fucking DNA. She's in my bloodstream now, an addiction I have no interest in kicking.

"Somewhere I can hunt you properly. No one will hear your footsteps, your breathing. No one will get to hear your laughs or your moans. Or your screams."

"After death, the brain stays alive for seven minutes," he explains, voice rough with emotion. "It replays the best memories of your life in those final moments." His hand cradles my face. "You're every single second of my seven minutes, Reese. Every fucking one."

Ramsey avenging Reese that way was not something I expected. I LOVED IT. This is darker than London Snow!!
I did have a hard time getting through the book at first because I’m a mood reader and it felt slow in the beginning. But this couple really knocked it out of the park for me.

Their friendship although blurred the lines of normalcy wayyy back—since the sneak peeks we got from London Snow, plus the teaser—is gorgeousss. They’re so domestic I ENVYYYY them. Doing girly things like face masks and painting each other’s nails. There’s just something about best friends to lovers that’s so dear to my heart.

Stuff definitely happened, but as another reviewer said, the basis of the story did feel “uneventful.” Also, I think I might’ve given it 5 stars if I’d read the series prior (on Penn and the others) that way I didn’t feel left out when they crossover’d. Those glimpses at the family dynamic really were great with the babies and the unhingedness going around lol.

Favorite lines:
✨“I’ve watched every guy you’ve smiled at like I was counting sins. And I’ve forgiven none of them.”

✨“There she is. Walking down the sidewalk like she didn't just cave some ballerina's skull in. My little fucking psychopath. My dick's been half-hard since I walked in on her straddling that blonde bitch, hands slick with blood, eyes wild. Never in a million years would I have expected Reese—my Reese—to snap like that.”

✨“Don't be so fucking full of yourself.”
“Why not? You're the one who's going to be full of me later.”

✨“Now I get to touch what I used to only watch. And I'm never fucking stopping.”

Reese’s real bucket list (by Ramsey of course, since he’s the only one who knows what she truly needs).. ITEMS 3, 4, 5–HOT, LOVED, AGHHH!!

Wow, I’m not even sure where to start with this one, other than to say I’m as obsessed with this book as Ramsey Blackwood is with Reese St. Pierre!

Ramsey and Reese are the perfect couple, best friends (and extended family - his cousin is married to her sister) but no more as Ramsey thinks he’s not good enough for Reese given his rather dark proclivities. He’s a possessive, stalkery, murdery guy but has a huge heart that beats solely for Reese and so many layers to his personality. And Reese always thought her embarrassing crush was one-sided. Until she realised that Ramsey was looking back at her and that he may need to realise that she’s not as sweet and innocent as she appears 👀

There’s mutual pining which both assume won’t go anywhere, until Reese writes a f*ck it Bucket List that, of course, Ramsey won’t trust anyone else to tick off with her so he insists they do it together.

This is a slow burn to raging inferno. When it hits, the spice is absolutely spicing, and some of the best I’ve read in a while 🔥. Reese has a praise kink, Ramsey has a deliciously filthy mouth, and throw in primal and mask kinks and my kindle just about melted! 🥵🫠

The wider Blackwood family are absolutely brilliant, I can’t wait to go back and read all of their stories now or to see more of them all in future books.

This book isn’t for the faint of heart or the squeamish, but the graphic gruesomeness and dark humour didn’t take away from the deep emotional complexity, and I definitely teared up once or twice.

Whilst I’m really quite tempted to go back to the beginning and read it again, I think I’ll head back to the earlier books to get to know the other Blackwoods better first - I can’t wait!

Ramsey is as morally gray as Reese is snowy white, and that contrast drives this story in the best way. He’s obsessive, protective to an extreme, and absolutely crosses lines—secretly implanting her with a tracking device included. While this would normally be a hard no for me, the author leans heavily on a shared backstory (referenced often) that explains his intensity. Still, I wish I’d known beforehand that this “standalone” pulls from several previous series; having that context would have enriched the experience for me.

Despite the darker elements, the relationship between Ramsey and Reese is surprisingly tender. They’re best friends who clearly love each other but are too afraid to say it, and that dynamic is written beautifully. The writing is strong, the character development is thoughtful, and the spice is hot. I finished the book in under 24 hours.

A few things gave me pause (minor spoilers):
* The timeline becomes confusing near the end. Reagan’s pregnancy goes from barely showing to suddenly having a baby in the backseat with no explanation of how much time has passed.
* There are repeated references to not “knocking Reese up”, yet birth control is never mentioned and protection is never used. It felt like a setup for a pregnancy epilogue that never happened.
* Reese’s sudden burst of extreme violence toward a dance rival without any guilt, remorse or fear of repercussions (regardless of any “darkness” she might have found) felt out of character for someone portrayed as sweet and gentle throughout the book.
* Her reaction to discovering Ramsey had been spying on her in her bedroom for years was surprisingly calm. Even with her “Ramsey will be Ramsey” attitude, it’s hard to imagine most women simply shrugging that off.

Final Thoughts:
This is an addictive, well‑written, spicy read with compelling characters and a gripping dynamic between the leads. I definitely recommend it—just consider reading the connected series first, and make sure to check the trigger warnings, as there is some graphic torture.

Penn's Mini-Me Takes First Place! I've been waiting so long on Ramsey's book and his RED FLAG was raised high and waving in the breeze as it SHOULD! Sinful Obsession is the first book in the new crossover series, Sinful Spartans of SCU by Havoc Wilde. If you like dark romance and college Hockey/Dancer, a morally grey hero, best friends to lovers with interconnectable characters, then please grab this book, kick your feet up, and ENJOY!
*Gotta mention Penn with 3 kids & their names was a bonus...

TW: Stalker MMC, Obsessed MMC, Morally Grey MMC, Virgin FMC, Dark Hockey Romance, Primal Mask Kink, Possessive “You’re Mine” Energy, Get on the damn bike, F*ck it Bucket List, Murder, Violence (not between main characters), Attempted Assault (not between main characters), Dismemberment (not between main characters).

I would like to Thank The Smuthood and Havoc Wilde for my ARC and in return I voluntarily promised an honest review.

Ramsey Blackwood has kept the Blackwood name alive and dark since his cousins have graduated from St. Charles University. His obsession is his best friend, Reese St. Pierre, but he let's go of some pent up frustration on the ice as a star hockey player. During the dah he tracks her and at night he likes to watch her sleep.

Reese knows the Blackwood's have dark habits and her best friend, Rams, may be the darkest of them all. The Blackwood's are her family but she doesn't see him in the family way and it's getting harder to hide.

After a dance recital her boyfriend dares to put his hands on her out of jealousy and she knows he will be taken care of. She puts together a bucket list and wants Ramsey to help her check them off.

With each check mark Ramsey is finding it harder to keep his darkness at bay and claiming her as his own. And Reese is finding her darkness and wants to explore it more.

What happens when they both are consumed? Will they ruin each other and feed their Sinful Obsession?

4.75 - 5 Stars!

Sinful Obsession was my new reading obsession. I feel like I’ve been teased with Ramsey and Reese forever and we finally get their love story.

Ramsey doesn’t think he’s good enough for Reese and Reese is somehow completely oblivious to how Ramsey feels about her. I mean girl….

But I digress…they finally realize what both of them have known all along. They’re endgame.

"Because once I sink into you, claim you—once your blood is on my dick, you're mine. Unequivocally mine. You'll never be anyone else's, not even your own."

Ramsey is OTT and possessive. He thinks he’s this dark shadow that will taint his girl’s light but Reese isn’t some fragile flower.

"No more excuses. No more protecting me from yourself. I'm done with literally all of it. If you can’t show me who you are, then we need to stop doing this thing between us because I don’t want just parts of you, Ramsey. I want all of it. I deserve someone who’s going to give me all of them. The problem is the only one I want is you."

This girl knows what she wants and she won’t take anythig less. But will Ramsey finally give in to their bond?

"Did you think you could escape me?" I press my hips down against hers, letting her feel how hard I am. "I've been tracking you for years. I will always find you. No matter where you go, or if you hide. When it comes to you, I can feel you everywhere and anywhere. You’re my goddamn north star."

While I did think parts of this story were a bit wordy and unnecessary, Ramsey and Reese were everything. Their story was deliciously deviant and filthy and I adored the complete mutual obsession and attraction. Ramsey was all alpha and rough edges and Reese was a wolf in sheep’s clothing 😂. Read this book and you’ll understand. Loved this and love this world that Havoc and London have created.

I loved this book from start to finish. I have been waiting for this book since I first read about Ramsey in Pucking Obsessed by London Snow. Ramsey and Reese were perfect to get her in this book. This book was right person, finally right time.

Ramsey has been obsessed with his “best friend” since the first time he sees her through a phone screen. Reese has been trying decipher more and more of the looks Ramsey has been giving her and her own feelings towards him. After an “unfortunate” incident with her boyfriend, Reese finally makes a list of all the things she’s been wanting to do, most of them with Ramsey. Will this bucket list finally push Ramsey over the edge?

Ramsey. Blackwood. The man that you are. Obsessed? Check. Possessive? Check. Will do what ever Reese wants and give her whatever she wants just to make her happy? Facts. This man was all the things and more. It was exactly what we needed from this book and Havoc Wilde DELIVERED.

Reese surprised me in this book. I do realize she is Reagan’s sister but I thought she was a little more naive and innocent. I was proven wrong and am so happy I was. This woman is Ramsey’s ride or d!e and a woman he definitely deserves. She also pushed this mans buttons to know end but he loved every second of it.

Now let’s talk about 4 years of tension build up between these two and how amazing it was when it FINALLY came to a head. These two were chefs kiss. I will never be over that primal scene.

Thank you to Havoc Wilde and The Smuthood for this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

"She's my everything, my moon and my stars. My compass. I care about two things in this fu*ked up world, her and my family. Just so happens they both end and begin with her, and I wouldn't have it any other way"

+ Stalks her regularly 🫣🤣

I absolutely loved this story. I was reading it so quickly that I had to force myself to go slower as I didn't want it to be over so soon 🥲🤣

Reese and Ramsay are best friends (that are obsessed with each other). Our FMC starts out having a boyfriend (we don't like him 😜🤣). Our boy Ramsay does not let this deter him! Him and Reese are thicker than thieves. He is always there for her, even more than she realises 🫣🤣.

Ramsay is probably one of my new favourite book boyfriends. Whilst he has a darker side, he is such a sweetheart for Reese and would do anything to protect her. He is beyond obsessed with her. He literally stalks her and watches her fall asleep at night 😍 The banter between the FMC and the MMC was great. I loved seeing their relationship go from best friends to lovers. Also the fact that he calls her his North Star and gets it tattooed on his hand had me swooning 😍😍😍

Such a good storyline and it was good to see the other family characters as well. Highly recommend this book, especially if you love dark hockey romance. Thank you Havoc Wilde for allowing me to read this book before the release date. It was wonderful ❤️❤️

Omg, give me all the Ramsey Blackwood content forever. I ate this man up like I was starving and I never took a breath. To say I devoured this book is an understatement, thighs clenched, subtle gasps and this feral sounding groan were just a few of my reactions when reading this and reading Ramsey.

I can say with the utmost confidence, Ramsey Blackwood is my favorite dark MMC I’ve read in a damn while. We get MMC who love their girls in other books, but Ramsey is obsessive and possessive about Reese, the object of his desires for the last four years. He doesn’t just want her, he CRAVES her. He doesn’t just want to keep her, he wants to POSSESS her. And he would burn the world down and not think twice FOR her. And call me crazy, but I dig that on a feral level.

In short, Ramsey is a dark, sexy hockey god and I’m just mad I don’t have one.

But to the book….Havoc is becoming one of my new favorite authors. I ate this book up. She writes men that you drool for and spice scenes that leave you fidgeting because damn 🥵🥵.

Ramsey Blackwood has wanted Reese as soon as he saw her four years ago. She is his North Star. His beginning, his middle and his end. And nothing and no one will get inbetween what he wants. They’re best friends but the walls are getting thin and the tension is strained and eventually someone has to break…

But Ramsey has a dark side and not just a “bad boy” side, a truly dark side (check trigger warnings) and if Reese ever sees the real him, would there still be a chance for them?

It was so good. SO GOOD. I can’t wait for the next book in the series, because apparently Blackwood men are my thing 😈

Sinful Obsession is a dark, twisted best-friends-to-lovers hockey romance that absolutely leans into the obsession trope — and it doesn’t hold back.

Reese and Ramsey have been best friends for years, but there’s nothing soft or sweet about the way their relationship evolves. Ramsey is morally grey to his core — possessive, calculating, and unapologetically obsessive. The stalker vibes are strong with this one, and if you’re into a hero who’s already decided the heroine is his and is just waiting for her to catch up… this will definitely work for you.

Reese being a virgin FMC added an extra layer of intensity to their dynamic. There’s a heavy push-and-pull between her innocence and Ramsey’s darker, more primal nature. The primal play elements were bold and fit the tone of the story, though at times the obsession overshadowed the emotional depth I wanted from the best-friends-to-lovers angle.

I think that’s where the 3.5 stars comes in for me. I loved the premise — dark hockey romance + best friends + morally grey MMC? Sign me up. But I wanted more emotional exploration of their history. With such a strong foundation as best friends, I was craving deeper vulnerability to balance out Ramsey’s intensity.

That said, if you’re looking for:
• Dark hockey romance
• Obsessive, possessive MMC
• Morally grey hero who toes the line
• Primal play
• Best friends crossing into something darker

…this definitely delivers.

Overall, it was intense, gritty, and unapologetically obsessive — just be sure you’re ready for a hero who doesn’t just fall in love… he claims it.

I received this book as an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Sinful Obsession delivers a gripping blend of dark romance, emotional tension, and college sports drama. The story centers on Ramsey and Reese, best friends bound by years of unspoken feelings and carefully guarded secrets. Ramsey has been obsessed with Reese since the moment he met her, yet he keeps her at arm’s length, convinced that the darker parts of himself would drive her away if she ever truly saw them. Reese, meanwhile, cherishes Ramsey as her best friend—unaware of the depth of his desire.

Everything shifts when Reese’s relationship with her boyfriend turns violent, forcing her to reevaluate the life she’s been living. Determined to reclaim control, she creates a personal “bucket list” of things she wants to experience. At the top of that list is crossing the line with Ramsey, beginning with a kiss that threatens to shatter the boundaries they’ve built.

As Ramsey struggles to maintain distance, his self-control steadily unravels. He fears that revealing his darkness will cost him the one person he cares about most. What he doesn’t realize is that Reese has her own shadows—and she may be far stronger, and more willing to accept his, than he ever imagined.

Intense, emotional, and unapologetically dark, Sinful Obsession explores trauma, desire, and the risks of loving someone fully when both hearts carry scars. This is a compelling read for fans of morally gray heroes, slow-burn tension, and romances that dive headfirst into the messy, dangerous side of love.

Sinful Obsession by Havoc Wilde

I received an ARC of this book from The Smuthood in exchange for an honest review.

Sinful Obsession was my first read by Havoc Wilde — and it definitely won’t be my last. Dark, dangerous, and dripping with tension, this story pulls you straight into the twisted, intoxicating dynamic between Ramsey Blackwood and Reese St. Pierre.

Ramsey is the ultimate brooding anti-hero: ruthless, obsessive, and fiercely protective of the woman he loves. His devotion to Reese isn’t gentle or subtle — it’s consuming. He would burn the world down for her… and probably enjoy doing it. Yet for all his brutality, there’s a softness that only Reese gets to see, and that contrast makes him impossible not to love.

Reese, a talented dancer who has always known the Blackwood family is dangerous, isn’t as innocent as she first appears. When she creates a bucket list of everything she wants to experience, Ramsey insists she’ll only complete it with him. What follows is a seductive push and pull between two people who have been circling each other for four years — equal parts tension, temptation, and inevitable collision.

What I loved most is that Reese has her own darkness. She isn’t just the object of Ramsey’s obsession — she matches him in ways that make their chemistry explosive. Together, they’re intense, passionate, and perfectly unhinged for each other.

If you love possessive heroes, simmering friends-to-lovers tension, and dark romance that balances brutality with devotion, Sinful Obsession delivers.

I’m already looking forward to reading more from Havoc Wilde.

I have been OBSESSED with the Blackwoods since Wicked Brothers of SCU - and now we're at cousin Ramsey's story and he does. not. disappoint. 🔥

We've seen Ramsey pop up in related books from London Snow alongside his BFF Reese, and her awful boyfriend, Justin. 🙄 Ramsey is down BAD for Reese, but plays the devoted best friend while secretly obsessing over and stalking her on the side. Justin and Reese's relationship comes to a pretty ugly end, and Ramsey takes the whole 'touch her and die' thing a little literally. 👀 The end of the relationship causes Reese to make a bucket list of sorts, including things like get a tattoo, swim at midnight under the stars, Kiss Ramsey, and... have sex. Ramsey, of course, insists that they're going to complete the entire list together, and it all heats up from there.

I adored literally everything about this book. Honest. The best friends to lovers trope gets me EVERY SINGLE TIME. It's just so sweet - even when it's a little (a lot) unhinged and spicy. And Reese was a really great FMC. She's innocent and cute, but then she embraces her darkness and leans into the obsession alongside Ramsey. Then we have Ramsey, and the way he can go from completely insane to amazingly sweet... swoon. The Blackwood obsession lives on in him and I am HERE for it.

The cameos from Penn & Reagan Blackwood and their kiddos were adorable, also. I mean - building his daughter a black princess castle so she can "rain down hell on her enemies"? 😂 Exactly what I'd expect and so perfect for them.

This was SUCH a great read and a really exciting start to this series - I'm really excited for Rams' teammate Copeland's story next!

✨ARC Review✨
“Sinful Obsession” by Havoc Wilde
Spice: 🌶️🌶️ 🌶️ 🌶️
First Person, Dual POV
Release Day: February 19, 2026

After taking a little break from dark romances, this book jumped out at me and did not disappoint! The morally gray, obsessive, unhinged yet sweet MMC is nothing new in the romance world, but I loved how Wilde switched it up by having it be a best friends to lovers romance. That’s a dynamic that I haven’t seen before in this context, so it was really fun to experience.

Ramsey Blackwood is the ultimate walking red flag, yet somehow, he has this depth and softness to him when it comes to Reese (ex. Letting her paint his nails and put face masks on him) that makes it far easier to justify his behavior and actions. The thing about Ramsey is that he’ll do whatever he deems necessary to protect Reese and make her happy, even if that means killing for her. I was expecting the “good girl, bad boy” type of storyline, but I was pleasantly surprised with Reese’s character arc and how Ramsey helped her embrace her darker side.

The chemistry between Ramsey and Reese is electrifying and the spice is absolutely smoldering🔥 This book is a fun, steamy, and wild ride that I highly recommend to anyone who loves morally gray, broody hockey players who will do anything (and I mean anything) for the woman they love.

What to Expect:
🏒 Dark Hockey Romance
💖 Best Friends to Lovers
❤️‍🔥 He Falls First & Harder
🧿 Obsessive OTT Stalker MMC
🍒 Virgin FMC

***Check the Trigger Warnings, I do not say this lightly***

I have been arc reading for Havoc Wilde since Wicked Fury back in 2024. This author could shit on a piece of paper and I would read it. I love how over the top unhinged her MMC's are, especially Penn Blackwood. I live for all of Penn's storylines in her books. Sinful Obsession is about Penn's "Mini Me" cousin, Ramsey Blackwood. In Wicked Spite, we learn why Penn is the way he is. In Sinful Obsession, we learn that Ramsey just genetically has a dark streak. Penn was funny unhinged, Ramsey is DARK unhinged. Like he's dark dark unhinged and obsessed. He takes obsession to a new level and this makes Penn so proud lol.

Ramsey has obsessed over Reese since he first saw her photo on Penn's wife's phone. (Penn's wife Regan is Reese's older sister). Four long years of Ramsey yearning and obsessing over her but never crossing the line because he thinks his darkness will ruin her. He eventually finds out that she has a dark streak too. Once they cross the line, the fun times begin. Ramsey introduces her to a secret club where all kinds of dark mischief happens, there is masked primal play, stalking. You name it, Reese was up for it, much to Ramsey's surprise and delight.

This book was a fun, dark read and a great start to a new series.

Thank you Havoc Wilde and The SmutHood for an advanced reader copy in exchange for a fair and honest review.

If you want a spicy Dark romance that is friends to lovers this is 100% the book for you. Sinful Obsession is book 1 in the sinful Spartans of SCU by Havoc Wilde; Release date is the 19/02/2026. I firstly would like to thank the Smuthood and Havoc Wilde for an ARC. Important note, this is a dark romance so please check the trigger / content warnings before reading.

The story is mainly character driven focusing on the characters and there relationship. The main trope if friends to lovers , which is not a trope I would go for. It did not disappoint at all . You can tell from the start that they have secretly been in love with each other for years but both have not acted on. It really starts to kick off after the bucket list was created, As soon as that was created Ramsey and Reese stopped holding back there feeling for each other.

The characters were amazing, there are so many different aspect of each character I loved. Ramsey helping her check off the bucket list was the main thing, it showed a softer side to him I did not expect to see. Reese over time showed a different side to her I did not expect at all, one hint the masks. I loved seeing her become a stronger character not such as not backing down when things get tough . I don't want to give too much more away, you will have to find out more for yourself.

overall, I really enjoyed this book especially for a friends to lovers romance which is not my thing. I highly recommend this book and hope you enjoy. Happy reading

🌟dark college- MF - standalone but character crossovers from SCU world (I haven’t read the others and didn’t feel lost)
🌟sports romance ( hockey player and a dancer) - he rides a bike and keeps a helmet for her
🌟check the content list / TW before reading if you have triggers
🌟 besties to lovers - he falls first and is obsessed
🌟 virgin FMC / celibate MMC

Some great quotes:

“He’s my best friend and we’re bestie soulmates and that’s why he’s so protective of me” - sure that’s why wink wink 😜

“happy now, you caveman” …”always am when you’re where you belong”

Ramsey and Reese are BFF roommates - he’s obsessed with keeping her safe, even from himself! He thinks she’s too good for him - and he doesn’t want to ruin her so he stays in the “friend zone” while always watching and following her. Reese is sweet and innocent but not a doormat. She definitely comes into her own during the book and doesn’t need as much protection as everyone thinks. Ramsey is protective of her but always lets Ramsey make her own choices - safely under his watchful eyes!

I love a good Friends to lovers- this felt like soulmates to lovers and it was so 🌶️🌶️🌶️🥵. Their chemistry is amazing!

This book has some dark and graphic scenes - check the TW content list on the authors website. There’s some primal and mask play too. I loved their HEA and would love to read more as they cross off the next bucket list it sounds even 🥵

Of all the things I thought would happen reading Sinful Obsession, crying wasn’t one. But here we are, Ramsey Blackwood has split my heart wide open with the way he loves Reese.

I have been itching for a dark romance and know a Havoc Wilde book will scratch that itch every. single. time. I feel like we’ve spent so long waiting for Ramsey to come along and there wasn’t a single page of this book I found disappointing.

Ramsey is a straight up psycho-like all the Blackwood men are-and Reese steps up to the plate. She’s not afraid of the man who lurks in the shadows, who takes out her ex boyfriend, who knows every little detail about her mind, body and soul. Ramsey is obsessed with Reese from her head to her toes and the moment when they both give in is GLORIOUS!!!

Okay you know I said I cried? Let me just drop a quote for you to wrap up this review:

"You're my seven minutes," he says softly against my hair.

"Seven minutes? What are you talking about?"

"After death, the brain stays alive for seven minutes," he explains, voice rough with emotion. "It replays the best memories of your life in those final moments." His hand cradles my face. "You're every single second of my seven minutes, Reese. Every fucking one."

HACOV HOW DARE YOU PUT THAT IN HERE?! Gimme a million more books about these two please…

Thank you Smuthood for my advanced copy. All rambling thoughts are my own. Can’t wait for Copeland’s book next!

Lemme say Ramsey is the true definition of a possessive hero that still respects his woman’s choices! Every since we were introduced to them in the Kings of Castlebrook, I’ve been looking forward to reading this couple for the longest time and I’m so happy I was able to get the ARC for the book!

I love the fact that the book started off by defining Ramsey from the first page, which set the tone for the rest of the book and didn’t deviate one second from it.

I loved Reese’s and Ramsey’s chemistry from London Snow’s series and how consist Wilde made their story be from that glimpse we got from the series. From Reece’s sweet yet super strong personality that perfectly matched Ramsey’s obsessive and touch and die vibes! They transitioned naturally from friends to lover and I’m glad we didn’t get a third act breakup and just kept building their relationship from the moment they became a couple.

I loved it soo much I wish it was longer. Can’t wait for Copeland and Delaney’s book!

I highly recommend this for all the people the love a super possessive obsessive MMC and a FMC that matches his energy and accepts him exactly how he is🔥🔥

Thank you, Havoc Wilde and team for giving me the opportunity to read this book. Looking forward for what’s next!

I was once again emersed into all things Blackwood and I devoured this read!! Not to mention my obsession, Penn Blackwood, made his appearance throughout the book and I was loving every moment of him and his family.
We finally get to meet the infamous Ramsey Blackwood, the cousin and hockey player that has a deep obsession with his best friend. He is unhinged in the best way and revolves his life around all things Reese. But this princess has no clue that her best friend has any feelings toward her. And everyone but them can see and feel the tension. Until she has had enough of being the good girl and decides to make a bucket list of all the things she wants to do. Now we all know Ramsey isn't just going to let Reese do these things alone or with anyone else, so he decides she will be doing everything on the list with him only. And this is were the fun begins...
Ramsey and Reese are just too adorable together and I just love the best friends to lovers. When she finally sees his dark and loves him even more for it, I was swooning hard. But please lets not forget about the SPICE and chemistry these two bring. Good lawd, those scenes would make a nun blush, yet he was just so gentle with her. And yet he remained open and honest with her not matter what. Ramsey is definitely the mini-me and has earned himself book boyfriend #2 to his cousin Penn. This is a must read and a great start to what I know will be an amazing series.

Story ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐.5
Spice 🌶️ 🌶️ 🌶️ 🌶️

Although Ramsey and Reese have been best friends for nearly four years, she is unaware of his intense obsession with her. His goal as her best friend is to protect her, spend time with her, keep all the boys away from her, and even share a house with her. They both go to SCU College: Ramsey is the bad boy playing hockey and Reese is the sweet dancer. To calm his demons and his fixation with Reese, Ramsey participates in fighting or murders someone who wronged him or Reese.
He performs it as a kind of enjoyment and has no regrets about it. Is Ramsey more than just a close friend to Reese? When she learns the true nature of Ramsey, would she be afraid?

I've never read a book by this author before. I can honestly say that I am not at all disappointed and I am eager to read more of her works.
I enjoyed the way she portrayed and grew Ramsey's character throughout the narrative.
Even though Ramsey was simply her best friend, his infatuation and possessiveness were unreal; once they started to date, his obsession, possessiveness and protectiveness grew.
Strong-willed Reese didn't realise she had a darker side until she and Ramsey began crossing things off her bucket list. Ramsey's desires, darkness, and demons are easily handled by Reese, making her the perfect girl for him.

All in all, I had fun reading this unhinged love story.

If you love dark hockey romance with obsessive, morally grey heroes who fall first and fall hard, this one is for you.

Ramsey Blackwood has been obsessed with Reese St. Pierre since the moment he saw her. He’s the definition of over-the-top possessive, touch her and it’s game over. He always puts her first, even when he believes she deserves better than him. But don’t let that fool you… this man is primal, intense, and completely gone for her.

Reese has always wanted more from Ramsey but never thought she could actually break through his walls. When she creates a bucket list with a few spicy items on it, Ramsey makes it very clear he intends to be the only one helping her check those boxes off.

This is a best friends-to-lovers story with an inexperienced FMC, a “it’s always been you” vibe, and a hero who absolutely falls first and hardest. I will say I wished there had been a bigger climax to the storyline, but I still really enjoyed being back with these characters and their dynamic.

If you’re here for obsessive devotion, protective energy, and dark hockey romance tension, you’ll eat this up.

Tropes:
• Dark Hockey Romance
• He Falls First and Hard
• Touch Her & ☠️
• Morally Grey MMC
• Best Friends to Lovers
• Inexperienced FMC
• Primal Play
