Magical Mischief

Rate this book
The once-dormant halls of Stonewick Academy are stirring, and Maeve Bellemore is at the heart of it all. With magic rekindling in the ancient corridors and long-forgotten allies returning, the Academy is on the brink of opening its doors for the first time in decades.

But just as hope begins to shine, so do the shadows lurking beyond the wards, and they’ve decided to play a deadly game of hide and seek.

And Maeve will do everything in her power to win. But she isn’t facing this battle alone. A mischievous newcomer has arrived in Stonewick, and she vows to help Maeve and the rest of the crew fight for what’s right while Twobble causes a little mayhem on the side.

Maeve is learning that leadership isn’t about power—it’s about heart, wit, and, occasionally, bribing magical creatures with snacks.

As the battle for the Academy’s future begins, Maeve must Will she step fully into the magic calling her name, or will the shadows finally claim her or Stonewick during their dangerous game of hide and seek?

If you love cozy fantasy, midlife magic, and an underdog Academy fighting to reclaim its place in the world, grab your tea, settle in, and get ready for a spellbinding adventure!

This series continues to grow and amaze!

Amazon synopsis:
The once-dormant halls of Stonewick Academy are stirring, and Maeve Bellemore is at the heart of it all. With magic rekindling in the ancient corridors and long-forgotten allies returning, the Academy is on the brink of opening its doors for the first time in decades. I can't put the books down until I've read stright through them!

Self Doubt can be a wicked mistress

I can say this is one I kept reading, racing to get somewhere. And as I write this review it's blurring a little with 2. We didn't see as much of the goblin in this one & that I missed. He always brings a giggle! Was also missing resident vampire Celeste as she took to entertaining mom. Not quite the full intro of the newbie who slipped into the garden. A lot of suspense that led to very little info? Introduce an exciting (maybe) new character, but not give us a lot to go on. Maybe in time we will feel this character as all others we've come to know & love or otherwise, but at least feel like we really know them as if we ourselves had stepped into the pages of Stonewick & could walk amongst them. Looking forward to who this new character will be!

Enjoyed the series and the new second life for Maeve, a 40’s something wife, abandoned by her spouse for someone younger. Maeve discovers who she is after their divorce, with support of childhood friend Keegan, Frank the bulldog, Twobbles, her new magic gal pals and an incredible paranormal community behind her, Maeve learns who she really is.

Sometimes it does take a village to lift us up, and Maeve has it, as they battle again the Dark side of Shadowick, and their head warlock, attempting to take over their village of Stonewick.

A magical shift is taking place again light magic battling the Dark side, and Maeve prepping to reopen the Academy for new students. Amazing story and an absolutely worthwhile read

Magical Change and Growth!

Mauve continues to grow and understand her calling at the Stonewick Magical Midlife Witch Academy. Facing one’s fears does not necessarily mean having all the answers. Questioning one’s own abilities doesn’t mean being a failure. Mauve’s trial and error magical spells provide the humor and a good laugh needed during growth.
Mauve’s experiences in Stonewick offer hope, love and determination to the village of Stonewick and the academy.
D.K. Bolton weaves a beautiful story of friendship, suspense and intrigue. This is a great series offering hours of enjoyment.

Magical and Relatable!

Dear DK Bolton; I am married to BK Bolton! I truly wish we were related but I sincerely doubt it.
Even though we are not related you have somehow managed to turn my thoughts and feelings into a beautiful, often poetic, story. You have captured my desire to be a hedge witch and all the amazing qualities I imagine go along with that! Thank you for your classic storytelling that weaves not only pictures but emotions as well.
I’m a retired English teacher and a few years beyond middle age, but I continue to strive to “Be the Magic!”
Oh, and may I please please have my invitation to the Academy?

As Stonewick Academy starts to come back alive, Maeve has a lot of responsibilities to the school and the community. She has to face her insecurities and fortunately, she has the help of her friends. I am loving this series and the value that is rightfully placed on women of a certain age. We are often invisible. Well, maybe that is my insecurity. But, I’m so proud of her journey.

Great read

This was a really nice read for a comfy fantasy trip into Stonewick. It's really nice to have books that aren't just about teens but about people who have had some life experience.

Pure and magical

I love the bonds of friendship, the joy, the learning about oneself. Being reminded to stop and listen. Another book in this series I could not put down. It also leaves you hanging at the end so you look forward to the next one.

better than Book 2

Good character development in this book. Fewer fight scenes was nice as my preference in stories goes. Really there’s a word count for a review?
