An Exciting Read

Still it’s incredibly far fetched not the major events as such because that is disturbingly predictable and plausible but rather the survivors who managed to group together.

As survivors encounter each other random chance plays a huge role in their actions and reactions towards each other. Then add in seemingly unique skills and or knowledge and things get more bizarre. However, all of these random factors do make for good drama and storytelling. Couldn’t rate this as a 5 star read because of the irritation value of serialised reading. Ironically it’s like buying into the “just in time” ethos surrounding modern society in first & second world countries, which in turn are a massive factor in the predicted 90% fatalities of US population in a nationwide event such as mass EMP strikes.

I feltnreally sorry for the main characters in this book. As the series progresses, it's harder for them to trust other people and when they finally do, there are terrible consequences.

The pacing was fast and I wanted the plot to take a minute to actually explore the new area the characters found themselves in.

I liked how easily Sarah's nephew accepted what was happening and actually listened to instructions.

The plot is starting to become a little repetitive just because Marcus keeps trying to capture the characters and they only just manage get away for it to happen 2 or 3 times more in the same book.

I am curious about where this series is going so I'll continue reading it

This series must be read in order. Book four brings the intensity! Jake, Sarah, and their small group have escaped the hospital, but the city is in turmoil and they have to find a way to safety.

Post apocalyptic
Non-romance
Single parent
Former military nurse h
Prepper H
Unrealistic bad guys
Cliffhanger ending

I have no clue why Marcuss is such an intelligent and prepared bad guy, hoping we get a little more backstory on this man at some point.

Off to grab the next in the series!

More fast fun!

Blackout Nation: Episode 4 continues where episode 3 left off, with the group exiting the hospital full of Marcus' men and trying to cross out of the territory he controls. They come across another survivor whose intentions are less than positive. The writing is well executed, containing a lot of information is a short period. 4/5 stars, recommended for anyone looking for a thriller series with short installments or are fans of post-EMP survival thrillers!

This is where the plot and action is turned up a notch and they all up to this point ended on cliffhangers. I was hoping they had a breath of peace but that Liam guy just feels like he’s with Marcus and his crew. Still so entertaining. Very quick read
